About this property
Large country house, near Heligan Gardens, an ideal base for exploring Cornwall.
Delightfully situated in 3 acres of Cornish countryside, with a large garden to the front and a walled garden to the rear, this 5 bedroomed house is Grade 2 listed dating back to 1780.
The house is south facing and has been a family home for many years. There are 5 double bedrooms and the kitchen and 2 reception rooms on the ground floor are dual aspect with light pouring in at any time of day.
The house is ideally placed to explore this beautiful county and all it has to offer. Both the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are on its doorstep and some of the most beautiful South Coast beaches less than ten minutes away including Vault, Caerhays Carne and Hemmick.
The house is at the head of The Roseland Peninsula which leads down to St Mawes, passing Portloe and Pendower en route where there are endless stunning coastal walks.
You can also take the scenic King Harry car and passenger ferry from St Just in Roseland over to the outskirts of Truro or the passenger ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth, a vibrant student town home to the National Maritime Museum. Fowey, famous for its Du Maurier festival is 10 miles east and the historic harbour of Charlestown with its tall ships, familiar from Poldark, is a short drive from the house.
The house is just 25 minutes from the more rugged North coast, home to surfers and windsurfers at places like Newquay, Watergate Bay, Rock, Perranporth and Porthtowan. Further West lies Penzance and those last few miles to Lands End - Porthcurno, Sennen Cove, Kynance Cove and St Ives with its world famous Tate Gallery. Details of which will all be found at the house.
With nearly 500 miles of coastline, and more than 300 beaches, this beautiful county has something for everyone.
