About this property
A wonderful family-friendly lodge with hot tub, set within Retallack Resort and Spa near Newquay in
Single or super-king bed options throughout, this luxury lakeside lodge offers families of all ages a truly exceptional holiday experience. Set within the desirable Retallack Resort, with its range of outstanding water-sports facilities as well as a spa and restaurant. Lying just 8 miles from Padstow and the beautiful sandy beaches of Cornwall's iconic North coast, this very spacious accommodation boasts a stunning interior where attention to detail has been placed on both the quality of its furnishings and the spectrum of at-home amenities on offer.
A superb combination of luxury and comfort, this really is a beautifully-styled and thoughtfully designed space. The home-owner's love of interior design is showcased through the blending of traditional charm and contemporary flair, with striking fabrics and one-off pieces of art creating a retreat that is as lovely to look at as well as relaxing in.
There are areas for everyone to converge together as a family, and places to steal away to when an hour or two of calm is needed; with two light and airy open-plan living spaces perfect for unwinding, and four sumptuous bedrooms, all with TV's and flexible bed configurations offering a sleeping arrangement that can be tailored to suit most groups.
Designed for all seasons, the downstairs living room features a wonderful wood-burning stove for keeping guests cosy during the colder months, and for sunshine filled warmer ones, its sliding doors spill out to a wide, enclosed deck where an outdoor sofa and hot tub invite afternoons of relaxation, outdoor dining, table tennis and barbecues.
Upstairs, beneath the impressive, vaulted ceiling lies the second sitting area which has extensive views from its huge A-frame window. Here, perhaps enjoy a morning coffee or catch up on a good book; its long balcony affords guests a terrific vantage point over the lakes and surrounding hills - ideal at any time of the day but especially suitable for peacefully watching the sun setting in the evening.
Also on this floor is the property's inviting playroom which is packed with a myriad of equipment and games that include a climbing frame and dressing up box, doll's house and many boxes of quality toys - great for sparking little ones' imaginations. The lodge has two cots and two high-chairs as well as baby gates top and bottom of the stairs. The large outside playhouse is equipped with a play kitchen and little gallery area so children can recreate their very own miniature holiday home.
With a wealth of outdoor on-site facilities which include a year-round indoor pool, gym, playgrounds, fishing, and tennis; both young and old have plenty to keep them entertained and active during their stay.
Older children and adults, can brush up on their surfing skills with a turn (or two) on the Flow Rider surf simulator, while other water-based sports like wakeboarding, paddle boarding, and an inflatable aqua-park offer hours of fresh-air activity and fun. Grown-ups can indulge in a rejuvenating treatment at the on-site spa, and the restaurant with its takeaway service means there's no need for guests to cook more than they wish to.
For days out with the whole family the surrounding area has many stunning beaches to explore which include Constantine, Harlyn Bay and Newquay, along with delightful Cornish villages and vibrant towns, all within a short drive from the lodge.
Please note that on request, the trundle from bedroom four can be conveniently moved into the children's living area to form a fifth bedroom (there is an image showing this), the trundle can be made up as a super king or twin. This room can be closed off via a large curtain and would have its own shower room.
2 pets allowed, a fixed fee of £45 per dog for a short stay of 1-6 night stays and £60 per dog for a 7+ night stay is chargeable , a third dog can be accepted on request so long as it is not 3 large dogs, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas. Please note that due to Resort rules, American Bully XL dogs are not permitted on site.
Good Housekeeping Bond
We ask our guests for a £500 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.
