Welcome pack.. Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Hot tub for 4 (private). Private parking for 1 car; additional on-road parking. No smoking.. With cosy and tasteful décor and furnishings, the owners have created a haven for your enjoyment. Lots of extras with slippers and robes, a coffee machine for your morning latte, and Alexa speaking Smart TV’s have been provided for your comfort and entertainment. Slip off your shoes, curl up by the wood burner and enjoy some well-deserved relaxation.
With access to fabulous country trails for walking, cycling and outdoor activities, Hillside Cottage is a real haven for nature lovers; the town of Haltwhistle is home to many rare flowers and plants including wild alpine plants not to be found anywhere else in the country. Known as the geographical centre of Britain, the town as a destination offers a great deal of things to do for all tastes and age groups, with so much to see and do right from the doorstep. Just three miles from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall, visit the roman forts of Housesteads and Vindolanda, or Chester’s. The surrounding landscape is stunning, enjoy a walk to Sycamore Gap and see the most photographed, iconic tree from the movie ‘Robin Hood’ or take a hike on the Pennine Way.
For younger families there is a nearby play park and in the summer months a heated open air swimming pool. For the teenagers and young of heart a day of action and adventure awaits at nearby Go Ape, Matfen - swing through the trees and fly down the zip wires while taking in some of the finest scenery in Northumberland. Nearby towns include Hexham, a popular, historic market town which boasts a stunning abbey, the oldest gaol in the country, and an abundance of shops, restaurants and pubs. Why not visit the beautiful Roman town of Corbridge or its fort, browse its boutique shops, art galleries and antique shops, or take a stroll along the river?
