Stunning view, loads of space, spotlessly clean and good location

The view from this property is really amazing. It’s so beautiful. And because you’re higher up, there’s a lovely breeze. The garden has loads of space so the kids loved playing - building dens, in the playhouse, playing volleyball, swimming, etc. It’s idyllic. Pool could be larger but is totally adequate. Sonia was so helpful and made us moussaka one evening. Very nice!!

The villa was extremely comfortable, modern and clean. All the facilities were there and worked - which is not what we have found with some other places. The outside space is also very beautiful and comfortable. It was an absolute delight to sit out in the garden with a glass of wine, and for eating. The views are also fantastic and definitely add a lot to the whole experience. The owner, Sonia, was lovely, always with a smile on her face, and very helpful and accommodating - and her moussaka was to die for! The internet reception is generally very good. Being fairly central in the north of the island, we also found the villa conveniently situated for most trips and towns like Rethymno, Heraklion and Chania. It is 5 mins away from the main National Road - the only fast road on the island, it seems, but nonetheless feels very quiet and private as it is not on or next to any resorts or hotels. All the required shops and lovely tavernas are very near. On our trip we liked: Rethymno town and restaurants (but avoid the overpriced seafood places on the old harbour - food is probably good but overpriced and the waiters very pushy), Prevelli beach, Agryroupoli village and waterfalls (lovely tavern down by the waterfalls - steep 5min walk from village), Loutro, Imros gorge, and of course the dramatic drives across the mountains. We would recommend this villa 100%!

Sehr schönes, kleines Ferienhaus. Es gehört zu einem Verbund von 3 Häusern gleicher Bauart, wunderschön auf einem Hügel gelegen. Das Haus direkt neben uns war zwar vermietet, das einzige, was wir davon mitbekommen haben, war aber das Auto der Nachbarn vor der Tür. Gehört haben wir die Nachbarn nicht, ob sie den direkt angrenzenden Garten genutzt haben, weiß ich aber nicht (sichtgechützt). Der Blick von Terrasse und Garten ist wunderschön. Die Kinder haben sich wohlgefühlt und morgens und abends ausgiebig den Pool genutzt. Zum Schwimmen ist der etwas klein, aber zum Abkühlen reicht er vollkommen. Einstieg erfolgt über eine Leiter, der Pool ist relativ tief (Wasser reichte mir bis zu den Schultern), Kinder konnten also nirgends im Wasser stehen. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, zur Begrüßung waren Früchte und Wasser eingekauft. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Einziger, kleiner Kritikpunkt: Die Terrasse ist überdacht und schattig, Pool und kompletter Garten sind aber in der Sonne. Wir konnten den Garten aufgrund sehr hoher Temperaturen nur morgens und abends nutzen, dazwischen war es zu heiß...

We rented the villa for our 10 day trip to Crete. The property is in a fantastic location, very private but within a short drive to major roads and Rethymno. It comes with well stocked kitchen, two nice rooms, pool and beautiful backyard. The owner welcomed us with unexpected homemade dinner, something we truly appreciated after our long flight from US. It was a perfect base for our island explorations

Absolutes Urlaubserlebnis

Die Villa hält was sie verspricht, das ist Fakt! Vorab wurde sich schon super professionell via Mail ausgetauscht und auch eine Wegbeschreibung zum Ausdrucken gab es per Mail. Dank Google Maps war diese aber gar nicht notwendig und selbst im Dunkeln für uns leicht zu erreichen. Die Lage ist fantastisch, der Ausblick zu jeder Tageszeit ein Genuss. Man hat nicht nur einen Meerblick, man hört sogar die Wellen! Wer fußläufig zentral und unabhängig unterwegs sein möchte ist hier nicht richtig. Mit dem Auto aber ein guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Attraktionen. Alle "Probleme" vor Ort konnten via SMS-Kontakt super schnell mit der freundlichen Sonia geklärt werden. Wie schon in anderen Bewertungen geschrieben erwartete auch uns ein kleines Willkommenspaket im Kühlschrank. Vielen Dank hierfür! Wir hatten eins zwei kleine Löcher in unseren Kissenbezügen, das ist aber Meckern auf hohem Niveau und wir konnten uns sonst über nichts beschweren. Coronabedingt gab es keine Basics wie Zucker/Salz/Pfeffer, usw. in der Villa. Zumindest ist das unsere Vermutung. Also haben wir uns selbst ausgestattet und konnten es auch glücklicherweise unseren Nachbarn weiter reichen, sodass die Verschwendung nicht so hoch ist. Eins, zwei Dinge hätten zur Ankunft noch besser kommuniziert werden können, wie z.B. die Müllentsorgung oder dass alle 2 Tage ein Mitarbeiter zur Reinigung des Pools kommt. Schlussendlich aber einer unserer schönsten Aufenthalte und eine absolute Empfehlung!

Toller Familienurlaub

Wir waren mit unserer 6-monatigen Tochter für 10 Tage in der Villa und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Der Garten ist ein Traum (vor allem der Meerblick) und auch das Innere des Hauses top und exakt wie beschrieben. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt! Die Kommunikation mit Valia und Sonia hat immer wunderbar geklappt. Am ersten Abend haben wir frisch gekochtes Moussaka bekommen und auch der Kühlschrank wurde mit dem Nötigsten gefüllt, da wir recht spät ankamen. Das absolute Highlight des Urlaubs war die Buchung eines Private Chefs über Valia, welcher zwei mal bei uns war. Das Essen war der Hammer und preislich lag es nur geringfügig über normalen Restaurantpreisen. Ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis! Einziges kleines Manko war die direkte Umgebung. Es gibt keine Restaurants oder Läden fußläufig in der Nähe und auch der nächste Ort (mit Auto 7 Minuten) hat uns nicht wirklich begeistert. Aber da kann das Haus natürlich nichts dafür. Alles in allem gibt es die vollen 5 Sterne für einen super Urlaub!

Wunderschöne Villa mit Meer- und Bergblick

Das Haus haben wir zu fünft belegt und der Platz war immer noch ausreichend. Der große Garten mit Pool ist das eigentliche Herzstück der Villa und macht diese zu etwas ganz besonderem! Vielen Dank an Sonia, die uns so herzlichen als Gäste empfangen hat, sich bestens um unsere Belange gekümmert hat und uns sogar zwei Mal mit selbst gekochten Spezialitäten versorgt hat! Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub und wir können die Villa uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen. Einzig eine Taverne in Fußmarschentfernung wäre noch wünschenswert...das kann der Vermieter nun aber mal nicht beeinflussen. Dafür hat meinen einen tollen Outdoorgrillplatz und einen Esstisch im Freien zur Verfügung.

A lovely house, with lovely host

This is a very nice, comfortable and clean house, in an isolated location although only 10 minutes away from the sea/small supermarket. Sonia our host was very welcoming and responsive. She had left bread/ham/cheese and fruits + water in the fridge for our arrival (and a bottle of wine!) and this allowed us to take our time before going to the supermarket after settling down with the kids. There was a mid stay cleaning included in our stay that was very welcome, and the pool man came every (early) morning to clean it. The garden is vast with several terraces and toys for children (they loved the little wooden house!). Talking about children: the travel cot was comfortable and the high chair was a good quality one. The pool was equipped with a fence on request to prevent any accident. The fact that there are two other villas on site wasn't a problem : there was another family next door but we barely noticed them. Rethymno is only 15/20 minutes away and you can reach the south coast and its beautiful beaches in 40 minutes. My only suggestion would be to add some more games and books inside (we had one day of rain and we quickly ran out of things to do with the children). Apart from that: top rental !

Villa with fabulous views!!!

Chainteris villa was one of the best villas we have stayed in,Sonia was a great host and welcomed us to an extremely clean villa,the outside space is a delight. My only criticism is you need a car to get anywhere,shops,pubs,beach etc.It is remote but that can be lovely if you are happy to be secluded. We would have liked to have been able to walk to a bar as you couldn’t have a drink until you got back to the villa after having a meal out. Overall we had a lovely holiday.

Wunderbares Haus an einer kleinen Schlucht mit Meerblick - komfortabel und herrlich ruhig!

Die beiden ersten Oktoberwochen durften wir zwei unseren Urlaub in der Chainteris Villa III verbringen. Sonia, die Besitzerin, begrüßte uns am Anreisetag noch spät abends gut gelaunt und überraschte uns mit einem gefüllten Külschrank. Eine Wohltat nach der Anreise! Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel, gut eingerichtet und sauber. Ein Segen sind z.B. die Mückenrollos. Der Garten ist sehr groß und gepflegt. Das gilt auch für den kleinen Pool. Überall finden sich Tische und Gartenmöbel, auch für Schatten ist gesorgt. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen: Von Prinos aus kann man mit dem Auto die Insel gut erkunden (15 Minuten bis Rethymnon, eine gute Stunde nach Chania, eine nach Heraklion) - aber die Villa lädt wirklich zum Relaxen ein! Häufiger als geplant haben wir unsere Tage dort verbracht. Sonia umsorgt ihre Gäste zurückhaltend, aber perfekt. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt. Dankeschön!! Ein Dank auch an Valia, die uns alle notwendigen Informationen vorweg schickte und sich auch auf Kreta nach uns erkundigte. Für die skeptischen Urlauber ;-) ... Wirklich alles ist so wie auf den Bilder und in den bisherigen Rezensionen beschrieben - eine wunderbare Unterkunft!

Fantastic setting, perfect for young kids

Chainteris Villa 3 was the perfect place for our family holiday. The villa is very modern with all the mod cons and well kept, especially the gardens. Very child friendly with outdoor playhouse, shaded seating areas, and toys and tv, DVD player for when downtime is needed. It offers beautiful , panoramic sea views and alfresco dining which is nice for the adults when the kids go to bed. The nearby beach is clean with crystal clear waters for swimming . Supermarkets, bakery and lovely meat shop are only a 5 minute drive away, and Rethymnon the nearest city, provides a beautiful diversion for a day or evening out and is only 20 mins drive away. Host Sonia couldn’t be more attentive or helpful. Only slight criticism would be size of swimming pool which is really only a plunge pool. This was fine for us but given the size of the garden would have thought a bigger pool would have been better suited. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed

Très bel endroit

Endroit magnifique, on s'y est senti bien dès le premier jour. Tout est très propre et identique aux photos. Très bon équipement. Sonia est très gentille et disponible et je vous recommande vivement sa cuisine qui est délicieuse. Encore merci à elle pour nous avoir rendu ce séjour si agréable.

Beautiful and relaxing stay!

We had a great time. The property has everything you need if you never want to leave. It’s within close distance (with a rental car) to everything you’d want to see in Crete. Beautiful and relaxing property. Excellent response for the host (Sonia). We arrived late at night and were surprised by a home cooked meal of Moussaka and fresh fruit. They will cook for you if you’d like. Excellent stay!

Wonderful villa for great family vacations

Everything about this place is great. We stayed there for two weeks in May and had a wonderful time. The Villa is almost brand new and everything is well kept, the garden is huge and has a beautiful view. Our children loved it. There are lots of things to see and do in the area. Sonja, the host, was really nice and even cooked Moussaka for us one day. The closest beach is in Skaleta, it's a small and quiet sandy beach (there are stones in the water, though, so it's good to bring shoes, as for many other places in Crete) and there are larger beaches closer to Rethymno, which can quickly be reached by car.

Tout simplement splendide!!!!

Une très belle villa ouverte sur un grand jardin merveilleusement bien entretenu, c'est ce que nous avons trouvé à notre arrivée à Prinos. Perchée en haut du village, face à la mer et vue sur les montagnes, entourée de champs d'oliviers, cette grande maison nous a permis de profiter du chant des cigales dans la journée et de splendides couchers de soleil le soir venu. Très bien située, il est possible de visiter les 2/3 ouest de cette très belle île de Crête sans passer la journée au volant de sa voiture et les premières plages sont à deux pas. Bravo Sonia pour ton goût très sûr dans la décoration et l'aménagement, ton soin à l'entretenir, tes talents de cuisinière pour les petits plats que tu nous as si gentiment offerts, mais aussi ton accueil chaleureux. Nous aurons bien ri toutes les trois de notre anglais imparfait qui ne nous aura pas empêché d'échanger ensemble. Merci aussi à Kostas pour sa bonne humeur et sa générosité. Vous faites tous les deux honneur à la très juste réputation de la qualité de l'accueil crétois. Amis touristes, n'hésitez pas, vous serez tout comme nous, comblés et n'aurez de cesse que d'avoir envie d'y retourner!!!!

Nice villas, very helpful owners, beautiful island

We hired the three villas for a wedding and stayed the whole week. The area is very nice and the villas are well constructed, very clean and comfortable. The site is newish (I think only about 2 years old). However, the owners have planted trees and flowers and these will soon begin to look very nice. Everything you need is there from comfortable beds, good kitchens, barbecues, pools constantly kept clean. The location is good, over-looking the sea and being a short drive to the coast and the lovely city of Rethimno which has a wonderful old town, superb restaurants and very friendly people. The owners of the villas could not have been more helpful and pleasant. We had a great holiday and wedding and we would definitely recommend these villas!

Tolles Haus und nette Gastgeberin! Wir haben uns absolut wohlgefühlt.

Haus: Das Haus ist absolut schön. Der Garten ist sehr groß und größtenteils Sicht-geschützt. Der Pool ist ausreichend groß und tief und auch ohne zusätzliche Heizung warm. Haus und Garten waren sehr sauber. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist tadellos. Die Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet (sogar mit Toaster und Sandwich-Eisen, Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, ...). Der Garten verfügt über sehr viele schöne Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten (größtenteils auch mit Sonnenschutz) und einen tollen Grill. Selbst ein kleines Volleyball-Feld ist auf der Wiese vorhanden. Das Haus ist erst wenige Jahre alt und einem fast neuwertigen Zustand und klimatisiert. WLAN gratis. Lage: Es liegt sehr ruhig - größtenteils umgeben von Olivenhainen und einer Schlucht. Die direkten Nachbarhäuser sind durch Sichtschutz getrennt. Mit dem Auto braucht man weniger als 10 Minuten bis zum nächsten Strand. Ebenfalls in weniger als 10 Minuten findet man einige gute Tavernen. Allgemein: Die Gastfreundschaft der Vermieterin ist nicht zu toppen. Zur Ankunft bekamen wir das beste selbstgemachtes frisches Moussaka. Man schenkte uns Wasser, Wein und eine Obstschale sowie mehrer Melonen. Wir waren absolut zufrieden und können das Domizil uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
