Secluded, private & wonderfully welcoming.

The accommodation was very well appointed & had everything we needed for our 3 night honeymoon stay. I really loved the private garden, hot tub, breakfast in our kitchen area & the generous warm welcome. It’s also perfectly situated to explore the south coast.

A relaxed stay in a quirky location

This was an overnight stay en route to somewhere else. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and the B&B is a very original and quirky location. Everything was spot-on and made for a very relaxed and enjoyable stay.

Quite possibly the nicest place I've ever stayed!

We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Wow, we were both amazed! What a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are unbelievable, the hosts so friendly and the location is fantastic. A truly magical place.

Lovely Spot! Really Enjoyed it.

I am loathe to give Lower Barns a glowing review because I want to keep it secret and all to myself, but it wouldn't be fair to keep such a lovely spot with great, modern, clean accommodation secret. The place was fabulous, everyone at the B&B went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. Great spot for our anniversary getaway in times of Covid!

Relaxing, invigorating, calm and peaceful!

The location is amazingly perfect, we didn’t hear a single car during our stay. Janie and Mike are so friendly and made everything really easy and pleasurable. Everything in The Cranny was unique, quirky and perfect! The hot tub was a great experience and the private garden was a great addition. The breakfasts were fabulous as well. Will definitely visit again!

Rare find of five star quality.

We have just spent three nights at Lower Barns. Mike & Janie were fantastic hosts. Our apartment had its own hot tub and was decorated very tastefully right down to the smallest detail. Would definitely recommend and shall be returning ourselves. Fabulous!! Andy & Kelita.

Secluded spot of heaven <3

A little getaway treat to celebrate turning 30, Mike and janie are so lovely and friendly! Felt at total ease as soon as we arrived. The room was breathtaking! We stayed in the Cranny, let's put it this way, we didn't want to leave! I'm pretty sure there was something in the air at "lower barns" was totally relaxed once we arrived. Can't wait to return!

Perfect place to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary

We wanted somewhere luxurious but quirky near to the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lower Barns fit the bill and more! We booked into the Cranny for its private courtyard and hot tub not realising how much space it provided. The Cranny could also be used for self-catered evening meals as it had a lovely little kitchen. We ‘cooked’ one meal that we sourced from the farm shop at Heligan.

Cheerful and welcoming

This was better than we both could have imagined. The acommodation is spacious and comfortable and our hosts couldnt do enough to make us feel welcome. I was very sad to leave and hope I can definately come back for a mini break again some day. Excelent!!
