We have always enjoyed property development and restoring old property to improve functionality whilst retaining character and charm.
We restored this cottage at weekends in the period 2004-2006. Our boys who would disappear for hours at a time as they played at the river building bridges and damns to the island which they named "skull island". The other thing they seemed to be able to do was to fill their welly boots to over flowing and to not even notice as they were so engrossed in their world of pirates. On walks into the forest, their imaginations were drawn to the world of Robin Hood and Sherwood forest. Where it was a struggle to get them to walk ordinarily, they would run through the trees inspired by chases from the Sheriff of Nottingham snd his men.
We enjoy hearing of guests who have achieved quality family time with their loved ones at the cottage and in the area, because whilst it is in a place with the caption "a place which time forgot", we hope that you get the chance to build memories with your family which YOU will not forget.
