Jacqueline and John were phantastic hosts, super helpful on arrival and departure. The house is very large which was great for us, since we had bad weather and little kids and spent quite some time there. Everything in the house is convenient and easy to use.
We went as a group of 14 friends. The place was perfect for us: a large dining room that fit everyone, a cosy living room for relaxing, playing games or watching movies, comfortable bedrooms and enough bathrooms. The owner John, who lives in an independent part of the villa, was very responsive and always ready to help.Location is great, just 10 minutes on foot from the village, though, if you're there for skiing, having a car may be preferable to walking 15 minutes in ski boots.
We had a lovely stay in Engelberg thanks to our accommodations at the Eugenia Haus! John and Jaqueline were amazing hosts, eager to share their love of the surrounding area and responsive to any needs that arose. This home was perfect for our large group of 10. You cannot beat the beauty of Engelberg- we will forever have fond memories of our stay here!
Property was well located, all amenities available, very comfortable stay other than it lacks on cleanliness and hygiene, no bins in bathroom or kitchen, room light fuses went off on very second day!Otherwise property is very spacious, very close to supermarket and gorgeous view overlooking Mt.Titlis.
Our hosts John and Jacqueline could not have been more accommodating. They responded quickly our queries and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy a carefree stay.We had a large family gathering one day during our stay and John made certain that there were parking spaces for everyone. The kitchen was well-equipped for preparing family meals and hosting a crowd of 25.
Great for large families, incomparable views of Titlis mountains
The property is just as advertised. Clean, spacious, great location with amazing mountain and lake views. Jackie and John are beyond helpful and courteous. We will recommend this property for large groups looking for a tranquil stay.
The location and views from this property were stunning. We had a family reunion with our adult children and we had plenty of room for the 11 of us. The kitchen was wonderful in being able to prepare meals for our large group. We loved our stay!

We are delighted you had a happy reunion, the house gave you a taste of Engelberg . Thankyou for your kind words.
The view from the villa was spectacular, the setup was good for multiple families, and it was a comfortable house to stay in. The walk from the villa to town was a bit challenging for the older members of our family, but was really quite direct and easy to navigate.
The hosts were responsive for very minor questions we had, and in general the villa was good for the nine people from three families in our group.
We had a perfect stay at Eugenia Haus which is nicely located and with a view on the lake. The only remark we made to the owners is that some matresses really need replacement and that we missed trash can in the bath rooms.

Great for large groups and families
John and Jacqueline were very thoughtful and helpful in assisting us not only prepare for our stay but also during our stay, especially with lifts to and from the house, from the station, delivery of food and local knowledge, (thanks John).
The house its-self has beautiful views and was well-equipped for the nine of our family who stayed. Especially nice was the log fire around which we gathered on the cold winter evenings over Christmas time during our stay.
We loved our stay in Engelberg in a large part to the accomodations of this property. It was perfect for our group of 13 adults and 2 small children. John and Jacqueline were the perfect hosts and addressed every inquiry, question or concern quickly and efficiently. The town is small so the location is walkable to the center and a short drive to all activities in the valley. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you John and Jacqueline!

Dear Joel
Thank you for being such delightful
Guests.

We chose Eugenia Haus for a family celebration of my wife’s and my 70th birthdays. It was a wonderful place to celebrate with family members of all ages. The hosts, John and Jacqueline were so gracious and welcoming and provided us with helpful information and recommendations for our stay. The property is beautifully appointed with lots of room. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and the two fridges were a great boon. The views over Titlis and the nearby Eugenia lake were very Swiss. A memorable and thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
We were 16, and Eugenia Haus handled us beautifully. The large dining table allowed nice full group meals where sharing of the day’s adventures brought a wonderful conclusion to each day. And the retracting glass wall sun room allowed us to bring the sweet cool Engelberg scents into the house. Great beds and sleeping arrangements. Hopefully we will be able to return - this time in winter..

Absolutely Perfect!
Words cannot express how much we enjoyed and appreciated this place and our hosts. John and Jacqueline could write on book on how to be excellent hosts - they were helpful and offered many tips on the area but even beyond this they often gave us rides into town, even getting up at 5 in the morning to take one family to the train station as the taxi was not available that early.
The house was spacious, well equipped for anything (even with four rambunctious children) and the views were spectacular. I hope we will be back at some point, it was everything we wanted and much more. Thank you Jacqueline and John!

Thankyou Cynthia, we loved having you here and realized how much you appreciated Engelberg with all its activities. Model guests. We are delighted you had such a good holiday
Sincerely from us both

This is a wonderful property and the photos on line do not do justice as the house is so much more beautiful and spacious. We were a group of 15 enjoying skiing in Engelberg and the house fit us to perfection.
John was absolutely marvellous helping us in any way necessary we cannot be thankful enough. We would all love to go back and do anitber week of skiing.
wonderful large kitchen equipped with everything needed for breakfast or diner large dining room to fit 16 people large bedrooms and bathrooms. Thanks again for everything John and Jacqueline ❤️❤️
Our hosts Jacqueline and John couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had unexpected transportation issues, so they arranged a taxi and John even took us to the grocery in town. The location was very good, a 15 minute walk into town. The house was large enough for our group of 11, indoors and out, and all appliances, WiFi, plumbing, etc were fully functional. There were plenty of dishes and cookware for our entire group to eat together. The major drawback was that as the week progressed the house became very musty, especially for the majority who slept downstairs. As there was no clothes dryer, our “clean” clothes smelled worse than before washed. I think a couple of dehumidifiers would help. Also, grab bars for the bathtubs are needed. As Americans we were unused to the recycling details for which I apologize. Supposedly there were directions in the guest book but we never could locate them. All in all we were happy with our stay.
We had a lovely stay at this property. The location was ideal and the views were fantastic. Jacqueline and John were quick to answer questions or respond if we needed anything. The grocery store and other needs were a very quick drive - essential for us because we like to cook in the evenings. The darling kitchen was recently renovated - just needed sharper knives, which is the case for most VRBOs.Our favorite room was definitely the sunroom with sliding glass doors that opened wide for wonderful breezes and views. The terrace was also great for reading and a glass of our favorite beverage in the afternoon/early evening.Mount Titlis was a pleasant surprise so close to the house (we’d heard more about Pilatus before traveling) and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to one of the highest peaks in the area with both an ice cave, several restaurants, and a rotating gondola! Our only small complaints were that a bit more time was probably needed to get the property clean enough for our arrival (I think the guests prior to us were fairly messy because our hosts were still cleaning when we arrived) and the beds were not all that comfortable in some rooms. The WiFi was also a bit spotty which may have been due to the thick walls in the house. Overall, we’d recommend!

Beautiful, well equipped home in one of the most beautiful places on Earth
First, john and his wife were perfect hosts. We cant thank them enough for their kindness, hospitality, friendly conversations, and rides to town for grocery shopping and to transport a few of our guests with disabilities.
Comfortable, clean, well equipped home large enough to fit our family of 12! We had plenty of bathrooms, showers, and seating throughout to accommodate our large group.
Kitchen has more than enough of everything, a dishwasher, large cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, and even a few spices along with ziplock bags and foil. Large fridge, with secondary overfill fridge and freezer. Projection screen for late night TV watching if desired. The kids were able to use Netflix even!
We loved and appreciated John immensely with his helping prepare a memorable fondue dinner one evening!
Every window in the home has majestic views.
The beds were comfortable. The washing machine worked just fine to wash a load of kids clothes. Fresh towels were provided. Basically, anything needed to be comfortable was provided.
Overall, we loved our stay and would come back any time if we find ourselves able to visit switzerland again. Thank you a million times for a perfect homebase for our family holiday!!
Greg Jamie, and the rest of us!

Amazing location but property condition poor
We booked this chalet/villa for 8 days. The pictures online looked way different than actual property. It is an old chalet so we knew that it might not look same as in pic but too many spiders in couple rooms so was very inconvinient for kids overall as we had to adjust in 4 rooms for 16 adults. We have had such experience in the past so still can manage it but the most scary and awkward experience was when we felt that somebody was visiting our chalet while we were out and about. The Property manager couple leaves in the same property and we were assures that we would be given complete privacy. In one instance, we open the lock and come into the chalet leaving the key by the front desk as other family members were coming behind us, the key for chalet disappear and was never found. Right by our main entrance there was a second door which was accessed by the property Manager. We feel somebody stole our keys while we were in the chalet. We had to pay 300 swiss franks for replacing the key which was bit absurd. We wanted to complain to authorities but decided not to. Just felt creepy and would recommend if anybody else had the same experience.

Our role is to host our guests when needed
Respond . We assure privacy ,this stay was no exception.
Our red flags were, leader avoided paying damage deposit through VRBO on booking, minimum communication, before arrival, albeit we asked for layout of rooms leading up to the date . 16 guests of multiple ages , communication is key.
Spiders were not invited, if anything was wrong why were we not told immediately? We ask guests to tell us right away if there are any problems .
Keygate , I suggest the group leader looks closer to home, internal party tensions gave way to a prank one must speculate. One key given becuase Swiss locks are secure and expensive to replace. We use key safe system , to help large groups , why would owners steal their own key. That suggestion is Highly offensive to us .
On check out a large lamp of a pair had been broken and badly repaired, confirmed by cleaner who discovered the china chips under the bed. We made no charge for concealed damage, without damage deposit , no more to be said.
when you arrive you will meet John and Jacqueline, we are keen out door enthusiasts, nature lovers, with Swiss and Scottish heritage. From this we have a natural love of the mountains, enthusiasm about the beauty of Engelberg, its farming, sporting and and tourist notoriety , steeped in local traditions. We are a British family who enjoys, meeting our guests from all over the world.
