About this property
Stunning Welsh Farmhouse, Panoramic Views, Pizza Oven + Hot Tub
Lovingly restored 18th Century Welsh stonehouse with jacuzzi hot tub, fire pit, BBQ and views as far as the eye can see. Suited to family breaks.
We are conveniently located within easy access of the M4 and M5 via the A40, yet still secluded and private; set in 5.5 acres and neighbouring a 138 acre organic mixed farm with stunning views across to Black Mountains and a plethora of driving distance fine dining (incl Michelin starred Walnut Tree) restaurants, beautiful walks, Forest of Dean cycling, Wye Valley kayaking and equestrian options.
Fair pay and additional charges: We pay London Living Wage (or above) to all of our support team. An Electric Vehicle Charger is available upon advance request and at an additional charge due to the increasingly high costs of energy. For the use of the hot tub there is a one-off £70 charge per stay to cover the costs of cleaning and additional electricity.
About Home
A private luxury and lovingly restored farmhouse set in The Lower Wye Valley area of outstanding natural beauty with a jacuzzi hot tub in which to relax and enjoy the uninterrupted views. The house is heated by biomass and has solar panels, as well as via an original Raglan Castle stone fireplace with log log-burning stove. The house is located half a mile from the nearest road along an unmade track, just 5 miles from historic Monmouth market town.
5 Bedrooms with King/Double, one with the option of zip-link twin beds for versatile sleeping arrangements - sleep 10 adults + additional single sofa bed + one single mattress can be made available to create flexible space for children.
The space
Whilst the house has all modern (Miele appliances, bean-to-cup Krupps coffee machine, plus built-in speakers and surround sound Sonos system) conveniences the joy of this property is the surrounding nature and the breathtaking countryside of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

About the host
Hosted by Vicky Grinnell-Wright

My family and I renovated Lower House as our family home. We raised our (now teen) children here and are currently re-located for schooling. We wanted to share some of the beauty of the Welsh hills with other families keen to spend some time together and create a little luxury respite from the challenges of the pandemic which has kept so many people apart from their friends and family.
Why they chose this property
The house is special to us, but the views are near panoramic and exceptional. If you are looking for comfort and a little luxury, in beautiful surroundings, then Lower House offers escape and relaxation, but with easy access to fine local food producers, excellent restaurants and stunning walks/cycle rides and water sports.
