Cute functional villa walking distance to most places in Palaeostrits. Jane is a warm, interesting and knowledgeable host who can provide great advice for things to do, places to see and really nice restaurants. The villa is clean and has most everything you could want.

It is so great to have such wonderful content guests who make the most out of their holiday. The little cottage is exactly as described . There is a slight elevation that is why we have a very lovely 360 view as we are 100 m from the sea . Therefore to walk up and down to the centre is a little steep but short. One can drive to the gate. We have mountains to the sea which give us our spectacular walks and views .
A great stay at Jane’s place, Stephanie’s Villa. Nicely setup with good living areas and gorgeous outside spaces to relax and the top balcony with the best view of the sea and town. Lots of good tips and very friendly and personable host. Hope to return…..Thankyou Jane

It is indeed a pleasure that my guests appreciate the little villa its views and surroundings. In a busy place it is a haven of calm and quiet . Very happy to have guests that made good use of the facilities and enjoyed themselves . Welcome back any time 🤗
The stay was a highlight of our two-month holiday in Greece. The villa was exceptional, set in the most beautiful grounds and so close to the sea and incredible beaches. The views from the terrace, of the ocean and surrounding mountains, were spectacular. The convenience of the villa to local supermarkets, and bus stops, made our stay so easy. Jane and Malcolm were incredible hosts, providing so many tips and going above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable. The villa has everything to make the stay very comfortable. We hope to be back one day to stay again.

Well, short and sweet. I believe my guests did not know they could review in German:-) However the star rating I do not agree with and I have reported this to HomeAway as a possible mistake.! It also can be that our guests did not read or understand exactly what we had to offer. We have had I can say 99% very satisfied guests and we love to hear from them:-) This year as usual we are very nearly fully booked and so looking forward to welcoming you with our brand new bathrooms on both villas done this winter and a brand new roof on Nola offering much better insulation and protection. You are most welcome Stephanie still has almost 3 weeks available in August! There are some dates available in September and October still:-) You are most welcome!

This year has been wonderful so far ! Very satisfied guests and we so enjoy hosting with our well appointed little villa with the stupendous views from the top patio. As it has been very hot recently the olive tree shaded patio has given everyone lovely dappled shade:-) Book early for 2019 !
We stayed for 4 nights recently with our family including 2 boys aged 6 and 11. We met Jane on the first night who gave us the rundown on the property and the location, we had a lovely chat out on the balcony with beautiful views out over the sea. The property had everything we needed and some lovely homely touches - Jane was always on hand to advise of restaurants and her recommendations were spot on. Thoroughly recommend.

So happy that even on a short stay David and his lovely family really enjoyed their few days at my villa. I really believe that with local knowledge, when my guests ask for recommendations or advice, usually done on Whats App not to disturb or personally if asked is taken. As a host one has to gauge the guest and their taste and answer accordingly. It very often works out and everyone has a happy relaxed and enjoyable stay :-)
Villa Stephanie was perfect for us. Jane and her husband Malcolm were charming; they made sure we had everything we needed plus suggestions for day trips, hikes and restaurants. The kitchen was fully functional; the bed was a lovely king size and there was a comfortable sitting area to relax in. But best of all was the amazing view down to the ocean from the top deck.

How lovely to have guests that wished they had reserved the villa for a longer stay :-) This season for us is drawing to a close early this year due to family visits. However next years availability and prices have been posted and you are most welcome. Being one of the very few villas with own garden and in the actual location of Paleocastritsa just a few minutes walk from all amenities, beaches and tavernas we are very lucky with our brilliant location, stunning sea and mountain views and above all quiet and very relaxing with our variety of patios, verandas and garden seating and sunning areas. We do not have our own pool ( but free of charge use of a shared pool down the garden path a small hotel . There are also many secluded beaches (inaccessible by road) on the opposite peninsular reachable with a hired self drive boat or boat taxi(an exciting day out) ! We are just not more than 5 to 10 minutes walk to a choice of 8 beaches in Paleocastritsa and an eclectic choice of Greek style tavernas ( including one vegan with an exciting menu). We look forward to welcoming you next year in our one could quiet secret hideaway right in the heart of Paleocastritsa. Unlike other villas that advertise they are in Paleocastritsa but are actually in the countryside quite a few kilometres away. There are quite a few walks that one can take through the surrounding villages and the panoramic views of sea, mountains, cypress and olive trees in our north west corner of Corfu are unbeatable and stunning! Come and visit us next year you are most welcomed be assured of your comfort and enjoyment!
Jane was very helpful even before we arrived. Great directions and then a very warm welcome.
The house is perfect, clean, quiet and perfectly situated. . The bed was amazing - so comfortable.
It was lovely to have so many patios to choose from and a beautiful garden to enjoy. Of course I must also mention the sun patio with the most incredible view over the town and sea.
We would definitely recommend and would love to return.

Wonderful stay in Corfu!
We had a very wonderful time in Corfu. The Villa was very beautifully maintained and had an incredible view from the patio over the bay. Jane the owner was always very receptive to any questions that we had before our visit.Yvonne and her husband were likewise very cordial and helped us with any problems that we had. Corfu is indeed a very beautiful island and we will always remember our time there. Hats off to Jane and Yvonne for providing us with a memorable vacation!

Please make sure you read the reviews and information, it is vital that you understand what we offer so that no disappointment comes you way. We have not come across that yet:-)) The villa is well maintained we pride ourselves in investing back in to the property as much as we can! I am taking bookings for next year 2016 now and we are filling up fast so please if you are interested contact me:-) Owner Jane
Incredible place to stay in Corfu. The cottage itself was well appointed and spacious, and a shared deck with a beautiful view of Corfu. But the best part of the stay are the hosts, who go out of their way to welcome you; they are very outgoing and just love to meet travelers, and are just the sweetest (and most interesting) people. When I think of our stay in Corfu, we did many things on the island that were great, but I always think of the hosts as a highlight of the trip. And her kumquat marmalade was delectable!

I stayed at Villa Nova for a week. The villa was beautiful and Jane was such a brilliant host (Helping her out with phone charger, brolly and suggestions on restaurants/ beaches etc).
The location is perfect - a short walk to the beaches and lots of lovely tavernas and Grocery shops.
The villa was spotless, soft towels, fully equipped kitchen (plus a bottle of wine, bread, milk, fruit, honey and hot drinks left for me on arrival;))
The garden and terraces are beautiful and perfect for relaxing over breakfast and in th3 evenings.
I would stay again without a doubt and 100% recommend the villa.
Thank you to Jane;)

So happy to have another contented guest:-) it’s actually Villa Stephanie ( not Nova) ! the other Villa I have is Villa Nola but is not being rented at the moment. This year was strange for all of us but fitting in with Covid rules I managed to rent quite a few times since being able to open in July. It is exactly as described and a lovely peaceful haven so near to all beaches and facilities. The views are stupendous. We are happily taking bookings for next year. You are most welcome!
We loved this place. Fantastic views in a great location overlooking the bay. Brilliant villa with everything you need, fully equipped kitchen so perfect for the family. It also has the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. I want that bed!!! Jane is a fantastic host. There was nothing she didn’t help with or advise us on. If you want to go to Corfu make this the place you stay at. You will not be disappointed. We hope to go back.
Thanks again Jane. Missing it everyday day!!

Really nice
We spent 2 weeks in villa Stephanie and really enjoyed it. The Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a US Kitchen. it's not that big but the outdoor is really nice, we had lunch and dinner outside thanks to the the so sunny weather and the BBQ! The swimming_pool of the hotel is really nearby and the beaches are not faraway (by foot with 2 children was really easy!).
The house is cleaned several times perweek by Yvonne that is really nice and helpful. The owner jane is relly nice and gives all informations needed. If you search paradse, i just recommend this villa.
If you want a good homemade restaurant : right after Paleo direction Glifada the restaurant is 8-10 km on the left of this road (not the one next to kart cross but the one just after) and the name is A?xóvri??a : just perfect and so tasty and the women is so nice and funny !

A week of peace and quiet
My wife, daughter and I were looking for a week of peace and quiet and found it at Villa Nola. An easy walk to the beach every day for my wife and daughter while I stayed at the villa and worked on my laptop via the Wi-Fi connection. An idyllic setting and not even traffic noise to disturb me.
An excellent choice of local tavernas within walking distance many offering great seafood menus. The walk back up the hill to the villa was short and sharp so not too demanding and a small price to pay for the view.
We weren't looking for sightseeing, culture or nightlife - just quiet rest. We didn't bother hiring a car and a 1 hour boat trip round the bay was the furthest we went so I can't comment on the rest of Corfu.
The only downer all week was England's abysmal display against Algeria watched on the big screen in the Odysseus' bar!

Response from VrboOwner on 25 Mar 2020
I was very happy to read that our guests have once again chosen well and enjoyed themselves. They were specific in their needs and I realised that Villa Nola could supply them. The new front patio on the cliff edge overlooking the beaches and bays, sea and mountains of Paleocastritsa has added tremendously to the enjoyment of the property and being a "no through road" area we benefit and have only traffic bound for Paleocastritsa. The villa is high enough not to be bothered by any of it but not too high as you can read to walk back and forth from to the choice of tavernas, minimarkets and beaches.
One can even get on the local bus to Corfu town which leaves every 45 minutes to soak in the culture, shopping and everyday island life. I am taking in bookings already for next year 2011 with an "earlybird" discount and there are a few weeks available still in September and October 2010 for either of the villas, Nola or Stephanie. The island of course does lend itself to renting a car and driving around as it is very beautiful but you can also bear in mind that one of the most famous beauty spots is on your doorstep and you have the view!
Villa Stephanie is a real home from home - so comfortable and well-kitted out with everything you need to self-cater on holiday - full-size fridge freezer, well-equipped kitchen and efficient washing machine - also super comfortable, massive bed.
But it’s the outside space that makes Villa Stephanie truly amazing.
There’s a choice of two patio areas and gorgeous garden with table and chairs in the shade of olive trees surrounding the villa, plus a spacious veranda with a view over the bay. Stepping up here after a day of walking in the hills never failed to take our breath away!
Jane is a wonderful host, always on hand (both before and during our stay) with advice and information, but never intrusive.
We’ve rented several Greek villas in the past and Villa Stephanie has been the most wonderful by miles!
Thanks so much Jane. We’ve only been back for a day and we are already trying to plan when we can come back!

A wonderful review given by wonderful guests:-) it as I have always said if you read the descriptions and well meaning comments and our reviews you will soon know if my little villa is really for you. The villa is not the most modern but is very much as described . I work hard at keeping the extensive gardens pleasing to the eye and our views really are stunning and interesting. If you think you are on the same page please reserve a few days/ weeks with me at Villa Stephanie . You will not be disappointed if you feel you are choosing well:-)
From the initial enquiry, through the build up, arrival, stay and departure, Jane makes everything so easy and a real pleasure.
Jane and Malcolm strike the perfect balance between provision of the support and guidance that you need as a new visitor to the area; and the freedom and space you desire to enjoy the wonderful villa, gardens and surroundings.
The villa oozes Corfiot charm, with everything you need for a comfortable break. The AC in both lounge and bedroom were a god send at times, as were the shutters, blinds and fly screens.
The gardens are wonderful, aromatic and full of wildlife. With so many areas to choose from, we preferred to relax on the top terrace with a choice of sun or shade, wonderful views over the sea and no mosquitoes. :-)
Paleokastritsa is a lovely village with so much to offer. We were surprised just how many tavernas and swimming spots there were to choose from. Jane's recommendations were spot on throughout the fortnight we were staying. Our highlights were Nikos, Spiros & Gran Aladino. If you have a car, or fancy a walk up the donkey path towards Lakones, Il Pozzo has amazing food, backed up by stunning views down to Paleokastritsa and the sea.
Jane delivered everything that she promised Villa Stephanie would offer and a whole lot more.
We have returned to the UK so relaxed and wouldn't hesitate to visit Jane again if we decide we need to unwind.

What a wonderful heartfelt warm review. Thank you 🙏 My home is not perfect but hits that balance of charm and comfort I was aiming for:-) The location and sea and Mountain View’s add the openness and beauty and our location even though near to everything is really restful and quiet. These wonderful guests did not take a car as advised and really chilled ! 😎 which is what they were aiming for. A car is recommended if you wish to explore! You are most welcome for 2025 :-)

Lovely, peaceful holiday
My partner and I stayed at Villa Stephanie for a week at the end of June and had a lovely holiday.
The property cannot be faulted, everything is there for you and the surrounding gardens are gorgeous and give it a peaceful, secluded feel. We were welcomed to the villa be Yvonne who put us straight at ease, organised when would be best for her to come and clean during the week and gave us her mobile number in case we had any questions - we did and these were answered very promptly.
The are is easily walkable and if you follow the path down, turn right and keep walking past the boat hire centre you will come to Kathys supermarket which is considerably cheaper than the supermarket just around the corner from the villa steps. Continuing past Kathy's is the beach on your left hand side -and despite getting busy the beach is clean and the water is beautiful - turquoise. At the far side of the beach is a section of sun loungers which are owned by the restaurant and costs 7 euros for two sun loungers and a parasol and they will also bring you out a big bottle of cold water.
There are tavernas just at the bottom of the steps of the path from the villa or you can walk further afield to bigger restaurants, though we were completely happy with the ones we visited close by - Horizon, Belvedere, Smurfs. We also had a BBQ one night using the big BBQ in the garden.
One cloudy day we got the bus into Corfu town, it was only a couple of euros each and the bus stop with timetable is opposite the bottom of the steps leading up to the villa. If you do got to Corfu town, I would highly recommend visiting the British Cemetery - it is set in beautiful gardens and the inscriptions are so moving. It feels so calm and tranquil after the hustle and bustle of Corfu Town.
We also walked up the donkey path to the village of Lakones, which is a hot and dusty walk up but the views are well worth it and it is downhill on the way back anyway!! We also walked up to the monastery which i s a nice sight and across to St Nicholas's panoramic hill.
You can also hire boats for the day but I would just say be wary of Mario who runs this, he is out to get any money he can, and changes from friendly to menacing quickly, if things do not go his way.
All in all, we had a fantastic week at this villa and thoroughly recommend the villa and area! Thanks again to Yvonne for all her help whilst we were there and Jane for making the booking process smooth and easy and to George the taxi man!

A lovely, very detailed excellent review for us and we are so happy that our guests really enjoy, as they should, their time with us:-) I believe this review will be of great help to future guests and we have enjoyed another virtually fully booked season again because of that! We are already planning our investment into the property again this winter with a new roof for Villa Nola and the usual maintenance that we do every year for the 2015 season. We will try and find "Mario" and give him your feedback diplomatically as we find that is such a shame to experience when all else was so lovely! We are ready for next years bookings at any time and already have a couple of guests booked for 2015!

Merci beaucoup. So happy that my lovely family guests had a great time and were very comfortable in Villa Stephanie:-) Our location is perfect for a car as well as having the footpath and small steps to walk to the coves below and the beaches and tavernas in 5 to 10 minutes. It is a walk downhill and uphill back but not too tiring or long. I am very happy to welcome you now for 2022:-)
Set amongst the beautiful hills and minutes from countless coves and beaches
Janes villa is set on the lower hills at Paleokastritsa. It has pretty gardens and various terraces, one of which has the most beautiful views over the marina, sea and various coves and rolling coastline. The villa itself is simple yet comfortable, and Jane had, on our arrival supplied us with fresh bread, cold water, juice, milk coffee etc. Jane herself has known Paleokastritsa getting on for 50 years, so can give plenty of information and advice, if wanted, on where to visit and how to spend your time. She is a person full of character and stories, well travelled, and clearly enjoys having guests, without beginning invasive.
Whilst there, I felt home from home. We enjoyed the tavernas and restaurants, a local bus trip into Corfu Town - which I loved, and boat trips to the caves and Limni beach. The atmosphere is laid back and simple. The people friendly and easy going. It isn't 5 star glamour, but you do have a sense of being part of it, not just a tourist! I like that!

So happy to have another contented guest. We do pride ourselves as being more Greek than modern contemporary but we do update and maintain the property very well and next year We plan a jacuzzi on the top patio with the sea view! We have one of the best views at the top above the villa ! Bookings are open for 2021 and we look forward to welcoming you. Even from 16 September this year is open at the moment.
A great location for our 2 night stay on Corfu. We did not rent a car so being able to walk to interesting destinations was important. Jane was wonderfully helpful in giving us advice on where to walk, where to eat, etc. The town itself was perfect for our wind-down from a hiking trip in the Zagori and Meteora region of Greece. The accommodations were nice and the elevated patio (seen in the photo on VRBO) is lovely. Jane is a very interesting person and we greatly enjoyed our conversations with her.
Thank you Jane!

Amazing location, clean and comfortable villa and excellent hospitality.
The villa is clean and very homely. It has a well equipped kitchen and positioned in a nice peaceful location up on the mountains. The patio has an excellent view to the sea. It’s easy to get to the beaches with a short walk. Jane was a great host, she gave us many tips about places to visit and was readily available if we needed anything. We would definitely come stay again.

Most welcome guests:-) Even in high season August with the heat and sometimes the cooler wind and many visitors Villa Stephanie is a great place to stay with an unbeatable quiet location. Open for bookings next year when the flights start in April. Great location for exploring , hiking and walking, swimming and visiting a multitude of tavernas. The walk up and down is not strenuous and only takes one minute to the road which leads to all the beaches left or right one has a choice of eight of them 5 to 10 minutes walk or the pool very nearby. Of course one can hire a car as well and park next to the villa also to explore the island etc. This year has been wonderful for all my guests , they have appreciated the villa and surroundings and really enjoyed their holidays. The panoramic sea view from my patio includes the small harbour and it is so relaxing looking at all the boats coming and going. The olive and cypress trees are everywhere and give the green to the blue of the sea and sky. The light here is amazing . The evenings are always quieter as the day visitors depart . Come and experience for yourselves next year and stay at Villa Stephanie in Paleocastritsa 80 meters above the sea on the mountainside.
Jane is the best host I have ever had! She was very welcoming and helped us in every aspect during our trip. She was always there for us whenever we needed help and went the extra mile for anything we asked! She helped us find great spots to eat and where to go around Paleocastritsa.
The villa itself is amazing! It has all the amenities you could possibly need. We was a group of friends and slept very comfortably there. The view on the upper terrance is magnificent. You have a panoramic view of the sea, which takes your breath away! You can literally sit there for hours taking it all in!
The location of the villa is ideal if you want to stay in Paleocastritsa. The main beach is a short walk from the villa as well as many restaurants. The bus stop is also a 2 minute walk which connects you to Corfu Town, which was ideal for us as we had to catch a coach to Athens from there.
If you are planning in having a great villa surrounded by breathtaking views, I highly recommend Villa Stephanie!

Time to start thinking about next year:-) I have been so lucky with my guests this year. All came with the right impression of what the villa offers and the amazing location. There are still some spaces in September . Unfortunately have had to block October due to family however looking forward to next years bookings:-)
About the host
Hosted by Jane Victoria Thomson
Family has owned the land since 1969 and we have slowly built the villas and invested in the land and have protected the beautiful views. I am British but have lived abroad for 50 years. Born in Nottingham and grew up in Cornwall and worked in London and abroad. I am happily married with one child and two step children. I have had the honour and pleasure to work for such companies as Vogue Magazine (Conde Nast) in London, The Guardian, Emirates Airlines. I now live in Corfu and I am there to welcome you and Jimmy (Dimitri) helps with the garden and is our handyman. I love my home, its location and views and love sharing it with guests who understand what we have to offer in our simple, very comfortable Greek way.
