About this property

Bright & cheerful seaside house. 15mins drive to Brighton.

Welcome to Saltdean. A peaceful seaside holiday destination within reach of perfect countryside, historic sights and close to the action of Brighton!

You will have full use of our 4 double bedroom large family home with garden and private parking.

The beach is only a 10min walk and the rear of the property backs onto Telscombe Tye, a vast area of unspoilt grassland countryside overlooking the sea to the south and connecting to the South Downs National Park to the north where dog walkers and hikers will really be able to stretch their legs.

Ashe House provides a fantastic seaside getaway especially perfect for families. Also perfect for keen walkers and cyclists wanting to explore the surrounding areas. Explore Birling Gap and Seven Sisters, Newhaven Fort. The town of Lewes with medieval buildings and castle. And 10mins walk to the iconic Grade II listed Saltdean Lido.
Enjoy a relaxed bike ride along the beautiful undercliff to Brighton Marina with a selection of restaurants and leisure facilities. Or even take a walk along the seafront to the historic village of Rottingdean, the setting of pirate and smugglers tales.

Hop on the bus into Brighton, a shoppers paradise offering boutique shopping combined with fantastic places to eat and drink. Children will love exploring the Brighton Sea Life Centre and the Brighton Palace Pier (funfair rides at the end optional) And of course no visit would be complete without a visit to the Royal Pavilion & Museum, a Grade I listed former royal residence.
Right next door is The Theatre Royal Brighton. One of the oldest and most distinguished theatres in the country.
Then there is the famous Lanes, a warren of narrow, twisting alleyways filled with independent jewellers and tiny, high end antiques shops, designer boutique clothes shops and cakes! Alongside upmarket restaurants, quaint tea rooms, and traditional pubs serving real ales.
Nightlife in Brighton happens in a variety of venues from big name acts at the Brighton Centre and Brighton Dome to more intimate gigs in churches and pubs.

Back at the house enjoy the sea breeze on those balmy evenings with family meals, BBQs and fireside socialising out in the charming tiered garden. Or sipping a drink in the Hammock.

Family trip
My family stayed at Rachel’s property for a family wedding. The house was lovely; even better than pictured. We had a number of ages staging from 10 up to 70 and everyone enjoyed the house. Rachel was welcoming and helpful. The house is in a great locations, in the middle is Saltdean and a 15 min drive into Brighton. On check in there was a slight issue with the previous guests accidentally leaving the keys in the lock but Rachel sorted this very quickly and have us extra time to to check out if needed. I would stay definitely recommend staying here.

Great stay
Only a short stay, but provided us with lots of space for a large family get together. Well stocked and presented. Wasn’t able to find the high chair and struggled with the internet speeds which the TV relies on. Would definitely return 👍

Excellent house. Excellent location.
Great house. Great location. 5 mins walk to bus stop to Brighton. Buses run every 10-15 mins til late. Crocodile cafe does good takeaway. House well equipped and clean. Steps to garage pretty steep. Drive pretty steep. We were 4 adults and 4 teenagers. I think if you had younger children you might not like the sleeping layout as the single beds are downstairs. Would recommend to everyone other than those with less physical ability or young children.

Fabulous house and garden in great location
Rachel and Reece have been excellent since our first enquiry. The house is super-spacious and brilliantly equipped with all furniture and beds of excellent and comfortable quality. We were a family group of 3 generations and the house and garden was ideal for us all. We loved its quirky nature and open-plan lay-out downstairs. Buses into Brighton were a short walk away and we had fun playing on the open land of Telscombe Tye just behind the garden. We thoroughly recommend this house and hope to book again for next year.

A Wonderful Family Getaway
A very homely home that was perfect for our family getaway. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A 10-15 min drive from Brighton Beach, or a 5 min walk to the bus stop. A great place for all ages. We really enjoy our stay!

Why they chose this property

We bought this property for its location near the seafront. And also fell in love with the garden, which is slowly being nurtured and gets better every year. My particular favourite is on the odd rare occasion laying in the hammock with a drink watching the sun set.
Also love the expanse of grassy fields behind the house for walking our dog Cookie.
