I lived my dream of a house in the country for 12 glorious nights in this beautiful old property. I loved the garden and the variety of birds and wildlife. A get away from it all very peacful and relaxing location. My teenagers loved Lac de Rabodanges which was a short drive away for swimming in the lake. We had a lovely holiday, thank you.
If you are looking for a cozy and quiet place, this is what you choose. You get plenty of bedrooms and plenty of garden space, for kids to explore. The neighbors had two donkeys we could go and talk to, next to our ground. The house got all you need, and is 10 minutes of drive from Falaise.
Lovely stay in a beautiful house with enough space for 4 Adults and 2 children. Sarah was always quick to response to any questions and left out a few nice touches for our arrival. Would definitely visit again.
Roomy well equipped home in the countryside a good base for day trips to the Normandy coast D day exhibits. Lot of nice little villages. A good cycling area . 1st time to this region of France but will definitely visit again. Host is very responsive to questions and pleasant to deal with.
We stayed in this wonderful house and we loved every minute of it really sad to come back home wish we could’ve stayed forever it felt like home. The house and gardens were so beautiful we got greeted every morning by the donkeys the kids loved them. Lots of places to run and play. There’s absolutely loads to do in the area we didn’t have time to fit it all in. The owner Sarah made sure we got looked after. A great two weeks holiday
What you see is what you get, het huis voldoet aan de omschrijving. Het is een oude statige woning, maar daar zit net de charme. Alle nodige comfort is aanwezig en de communicatie met de eigenaar is super. Aanrader dus !
We spent a week in this beautiful house and loved it very much! We expected a visit from Mr. Darcy, straight out of Pride and Prejudice, because this old French house has a lovely English touch! The large garden and orchard tributed to this feeling as well. We hope to return one day!
Fabulous stay in rural Normandy in gorgeous family house
The location, size and style of this property was perfect for us and exceeded our expectations in every way.
It was the first time we’d taken our 4 teenagers abroad and they loved it. The lake nearby was the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. The food there was fantastic from the little burger bar and the amenities clean and tidy. We spent many hours there.
The small town of Putanges - le -Lac is super cute and has a very helpful pharmacy and bakery and tourist information.
Calais has an amazing Saturday market too.
Thanks so much for an amazing time, if you’re going in August please take insect repellent for the incredible garden!
The small village of
Stayed het with my wife and 3 young children. It is a large historic house with a very large garden. It is in a very rural area with about 7 or 8 other houses in the direct vicinity. I really enjoyed walking around the grounds with trees, barns, waterpump, etc. The garden is large enough to play soccer with the kids.
Will come back here when i visit Normandy again.
Beautiful house with large garden in the countryside
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house offers a lot of space, lovingly furnished rooms, well equipped kitchen, huge garden with fruit trees and blackberry bushes. The surrounding area offers opportunities for nature walks / hikes, there are many small beautiful towns to visit, the castle of William the Conqueror is also worth a visit. For families with children, the lake in La Ferté Macé with a fun water course is highly recommended. Beaches by the Atlantic sea are also easily accessible in just an hour.
We received all the necessary information about the house/cottage and activities in the area for our stay in advance from Sarah. Sarah was always available for questions and was very responsive.
We felt very comfortable as a family in Sarah's vacation home and would come back anytime.
Great base for exploring. Beautiful period property.
We had a fantastic stay at Sarah's home. The property feels incredibly rural, but you are 10/20 minutes in any direction from a lovely town/city/riverside village. The local village is 3 minutes away and has a shop/tabac/bar/restaurant all in one! The house was fantastically equipped with everything needed for us, and baby! The arrival wine in the kitchen was a lovely touch. The property is fantastically decorated in keeping with the period features. The grounds are stunning and my little boy enjoyed picking apples from the Orchard to eat!
Any questions during our stay were responded to to super quickly.
If I had to find one thing to pick up on, my little boy kept losing his toys under the sofa and it really could do with a clean under there... but so could mine at home having said that :)
We will definitely look to return!
Thank you!
