Perfect for a long stay in Rome

We are a family of 5 and we stayed at this VRBO apartment for 10 nights. The apartment had everything that we needed - 3 big bedrooms with their own individual bathrooms, plus a well-equipped kitchen so that we could prepare some of our own meals. The location worked really well for us. We were close to the A line metro, and at the top of the trident of streets (Ripetta, Corso and Babuino), so navigating around the city was very easy. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful place, great location!

Very nice accomodation. Super comfortable beds, good location. Alessandro was great, very responsive and kind to arrange driver pick up at airport. He was waiting when we arrived. 2 couples so very roomy, nice views. Fun to go to the piazza for an afternoon coffee or prosecco and watch the ebb and flow of the area. We totally enjoyed our stay. Grazie mille Alessandro!

The Apartment was okay for a place to stay a few days. I would not recommend a longer stay that we did because we ran out of toilet tissue, clean towels and bedsheets. When we contacted Alessandro he brought us four clean towels ( there was 6 of us in the group hence we chose that apartment for the three bedrooms) and showed us how to use the washer to wash the towels if we wanted clean ones. We had to purchase our own toilet tissues. Alessandro also told us he did not speak English even though the website claimed he spoke 5 languages including English. Luckily for us someone in our group spoke Italian. Alessandro was nice enough to assist us with our luggage when we arrived because there is a flight of stairs to a very tiny lift that only accommodated one person with two luggage, we had 9 luggages and 5 carry on bags because we were 6 people in total. It took sometime to finally get upstairs and when we came out the lift, there was another flight of stairs down. Location was good for what we needed to be close to. The apartment could use a fresh paint and replacing all the broken chandeliers that kept blinking every time we turned them off.

Beware of hidden costs and poor communication

Upon booking this apartment, which is advertised as sleeping 8 people, I was charged A LOT of money for "additional guest fee". When I questioned the owner about this, he explained (in an elusive not strait forward way) that this was a charge that he was required to charge. I asked if it was the nightly per person fee that is required in Europe and he said it was. I asked several times if there were be any more fees due and he said that we had paid them. Again, his English is not great so the messages were never strait forward answers. When we arrived, communication was a HUGE issue. HE COULD NOT SPEAK ENGLISH other than being able to charge me another "tax". Of course he couldn't explain was this tax was because he couldn't understand me and couldn't explain anything. I was just forced to pay it or leave. We were a party of 6, so this does work out to be the stated per night per person. So I get that. HOWEVER, I specifically asked if we had paid that fee with the "additional guest fee" when I originally booked and he had said I had. After a day of settling in, I emailed him to ask what the additional guest fee was that was originally paid upon booking; the HUGE FEE. He said it was explained in the description. NO IT WASN'T! I did not want to spend time on vacation dealing with it, so when I came home, emailed homeaway to try and get their help. They were not willing to intervene, and if they did, it's been 2 weeks almost and I have not heard anything. Just be super aware that aparantely, this owner will charge you for any person over 4 people and it's a HUGE amount of money that you will not get back. The bedrooms and bathrooms were fine, although my shower and my sisters were both clogged and would drain slowly. The living area is TINY, so you cannot congregate there. If you are at all clausterphobic, you will not be able to use this elevator. It is TINY and totally enclosed. I could not use it and had to climb 5 flights of stairs. Location is good, I give you that, but not worth paying an additional HUGE FEE and then getting charged another tax when you get there. I'm not at all happy with this situation.

Die Lage ist Top alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Sauberkeit war nicht 100 Prozent. Eine Auffrischung mit Farbe des Apartments wäre schön, ist etwas in Mitleidenschaft geraten. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war gut doch manchmal wurden Mängel erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen behoben. Sonst sehr empfehlenswert.

The property was lovely and the location was great. Unfortunately the description is incorrect. The listing states that there are 5 bedrooms but there are only three. This was very inconvenient due to the fact the one individuals ended up sleeping on a pull out couch in the kitchen. Just be aware that if you need a specific number of bedrooms this property only has three. Otherwise the location was perfect.

Everything was excellent. The faucet in the kitchen was leaking during our stay and there was distinct smell coming from the bathrooms.....not sure if it is due to the old Roman ruins and nothing can be done. Otherwise location is fabulous.

The apartment was in walking distance of quite a lot. We were only there 2 nights & it was adequate for that. There was an odd smell which Alessandro tried to take care of but it still lingered. Alessandro was very responsive in providing transportation to & from train & airport. Our biggest complaint was the only place to sit was the DR table which had very uncomfortable chairs & 1 love seat. There were only 3 of us but any more would be an issue. You need to go up a flight of stairs to get to the elevator & another flight from the elevator to the apartment. This should be taken into consideration with mature people hauling large suitcases.

Very clean and nice place to stay in Rome; good location

Very nice apartment, beds comfortable, rooms clean and nice; had everything we needed. Especially enjoyed the view from the balcony off 2 of the bedrooms. It was a challenge getting up the 5 flights with our luggage as the elevator was very small but we did it. Host Alessandro was very nice and helpful to us and set us up for van shuttle to airport right from the apartment which was so convenient and worth it. Only took 40 minutes to get to the airport so that worked out well.

Nice play to stay and close to many of the museums, make sure you wear your walking shoes as you will be doing a lot of that.

Die Lage der Wohnung ist super, die Sauberkeit eher mittelmäßig, die Bettwäsche war in einem Zimmer sehr schmutzig, der Vermieter hat das gleich korrigiert, nachdem wir darauf aufmerksam gemacht haben. Der Balkon ist lediglich ein Austritt, daher sollte er als Balkon nicht beschrieben werden. Der Vermieter spricht ausschließlich italienisch.

Nice location Piazza del Poppolo

Ok a nice location with a very small but useful elevator. The bedrooms are spacious with ensuite baths very nice for friends and family traveling together. Very small kitchen and communal areas with kitchen table and chairs, fridge and stove top. Functional but not comfortable. Cons were sewer gas very noticeable especially in one bathroom, this is a common smell in many Italian cities but we do not like it in the apartment, this needs help. Bare bulb hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen ugly at best and dangerous at worst. Alessandro met us at the entrance and showed us around and helped with our luggage, he speaks Italian but we did pretty much understand each other. One strange twist was that Alessandro actually canceled our last payment on VRBO and made us pay cash for the bulk of the cost. This we were aware of ahead of time and it worked out ok, just had to get cash from nearby atm's and felt a little strange. We were picked up at the airport with a big van which we had arranged with Alessandro and we booked a return trip that never showed which led to a big issue with us getting to the airport and Alessandro actually drove us there in his car, so a big disconnect. My opinion is nice location. And try to enjoy Rome despite the inconvenience of the apartment and owner.

Amazing place to stay!

This apartment was perfect!!! So cute and comfortable. The location is perfect! The views from the balcony of Piazza del Popolo are amazing! When you walk out of the building - everything is right there. Restaurants, shops, and the metro. An easy walk to many of the main sights. There is even a beautiful park close by for running or walking. There are a lot of stairs up to the apartment but very doable. If needed, there is a small elevator. Alessandro responded well to all our questions and arranged a van to pick us up at the airport. Thank you for a wonderful, memorable stay!!

Great Apartment

It was in a great location, close to shops, restaurants and gelato shops. Just walk out of the building and everything is right there. Close to the square where there is live entertainment. Had a washing machine, that was great. It was very comfortable. Thank you Alessandro for letting us enjoy your place.

Great location and great balcony views.

Older building with small elevator and apartment is not updated but it has all the essentials and great location with wonderful views from the balconies of two of the three bedrooms. Overall, a good value. Language can be an issue but manager responds well to emails and texts. He had a taxi pick us up at the airport and there were no issues. We needed three taxis on three different days to get back to the airport and the manager arranged all three and there were not issues.

Great property, incredible location!

Lovely apartment. Suited 5 adults with no problem. The location was perfect. Walking distance to all the main Rome attractions and restaurants and food stores. The view from the verandas into the Piazza del Popolo was beautiful.

Spacious apartment in a great location

Our family of 5 rented this 3bedroom/3 bath apartment in a fantastic location near Piazza Del Popolo. We walked to Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon from apartment. Alessandro was very helpful and arranged a car service pick up from the airport directly to apartment. Local neighborhood has excellent restaurants and shopping on Via Del Corsa. Metro is just across the plaza. Everything was convenient.
