About this property

Beautiful Canal Side Home in the Heart of Chester

This beautiful 2 bedroom home is located just a 10-15 minute idilic walk along the canal into the centre of Chester. Not only is the property close to the city centre, but it is also just a short walk to a large Waitrose and other local amenities such as the Bridge Inn pub just a 1 minute walk away.

The property itself is newly furnished and recently decorated. On the ground floor is a cosy front room with sofa bed and smart TV with ChromeCast, a living room with log burner and dining area, and a well equipped kitchen. To the rear of the property is a courtyard with seating for the warmer months. The house sits on the canal side in a beautiful setting right on the edge of the city centre.

Whilst there are many incredible restaurants in Chester, the kitchen is equipped with everything you should need to cook a meal in with family, friends or colleagues, including of course, plenty of wine and prosecco glasses!

Upstairs the master bedroom is beautifully furnished with a luxurious super king bed (which can be split into singles upon request). The second bedroom is also furnished to a high standard with a double bed. Both bedrooms boast comfortable beds and elegant finishing touches. Fresh white linen and clean towels will also be provided for you. There is a small third bedroom containing a cot (please provide your own mattress 50x100cm and linen). Please be aware that the stairs are relatively steep.

The modern family bathroom has both a shower cubicle and a luxurious free standing bath.

There is free, unrestricted parking on the roads outside the property. Please note that the road is quite narrow.

With river bank walks, shopping, sight-seeing, good food and nightlife within a moments walk, you will be kept busy, but will have a relaxing home to come back to after a long day! You will of course also be a short drive from Chester Zoo and the beautiful Cheshire countryside.

We are here to help and would be happy to give recommendations for restaurants, bars, good country pubs, Cheshire walks and must see sights! The welcome book located in the house will provide you with many recommendations on your arrival, or please request beforehand.

Check-in is anytime after 3pm and checkout is 10am.

The house should have all necessary amenities for your stay but should you feel that something is missing, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Really enjoyed our stay, but it was overshadowed by the DIRTY house and CAT smell!
We emailed the managers immediately (on the email address we had been communicating on prior to our stay, so knew it worked) to notify them that the house was dirty. There were long hairs on the carpet in the bedroom, debris to the floor throughout, layer of dust on most surfaces, cobwebs to lights and worst of all there was an over powering smell of cats!! We hoped by emailing them they would do everything in their power to rectify the issues, but alas no response. Our first full day we noticed the password for the WiFi wasn’t recognised on any of our devices, nor the TV, we managed to get on the WiFi using the QR code on the router, but for the TV this wasn’t possible. We again brought this to their attention, hoping they would get in touch, unfortunately again no response, so no Netflix or Prime for our evenings, just Freeview. Which isn’t ideal as we have a baby so were home from 6pm every night! There were other issues but considering we hadn’t received a response, we didn’t bother bringing it to their attention. • the lights downstairs are dimmers, but the bulbs are clearly not compatible, so flicker continuously which is very irritating. • the advert advises a 15 minute walk to the middle of the town centre, Google says 27 minutes to the bus garage, which in my opinion is the outskirts of town. We really enjoy a walk, so wasn’t an issue for us, but I think it should be mentioned as the advert is misleading. • cot they provided was this rickety old wooden thing that I absolutely did not feel comfortable leaving the baby in, so bring your own!! • every piece of cutlery I pulled out of the draw was dirty and had to be washed up before use POSITIVES • Great location, being along the canal and opening our window to the boats was honestly so lovely. • The bed was big and very comfortable • House is decorated and furnished lovely • bathroom was amazing, bath was big enough for all three of us which was very cute! • so much to do in the town and along the canal, was a great family spot! All in all we did enjoy our stay, but for the money that we paid, we at least expected a clean house. With everything going on in the world this should be at the forefront of owners minds! That and the complete lack of response to our issues was so disappointing, would have been a much higher score had they bothered to reply and assist us with our issues.
