Our third stay!

Box Cottage is such a lovely cottage, so well equipped with a really comfortable super king size bed! The garden is such a lovely place to sit out in at any time of the day. Great location for coast and countryside. We love staying here so much we will be looking to book a fourth time!

Super Suffolk Staycation!

The cottage was everything that it promised, well furnished and extremely comfortable. Hosting and customer service were great. Cleanliness, facilities and equipment were all that we would have hoped for. The garden was a delight - private and enclosed. Perfect for us and our little dog. Great village location with excellent pubs/restaurants on the doorstep and within easy reach of lots of local amenities. Beautiful countryside and very relaxing. Certainly a place to return to!!

Lovely cottage

A really restful stay in an excellent cottage. Great village location with really good pubs. Cannot fault the cottage for size and layout, with the benefit of a really nice garden with great views. Will be back next year…

Very nice cottage in a beautiful location

Box Cottage has an excellent location in the very pleasant Stoke-by-Nyland which boasts a church, two pubs and a general store/post office. The cottage has a well laid out downstairs with a sitting room, a separate dining space off the well equipped kitchen that opens out onto a small but inviting patio area. The main bedroom is spacious with a dressing table and wardrobe but the window is in need of improvement as it allows a draft and the noise from main village road which runs right outside the cottage. However the second bedroom is both small and overfilled with a large double bed that restricts movement around it and leaves no room for any other furniture and only wall hooks for clothes storage. There is an upstairs bathroom with a bath and over-bath shower attachment. The downstairs toilet also contains a washing machine. The off-street parking is a bonus as the village road is very busy but is only able to accommodate a small to medium sized vehicle. On-street parking is available but not necessarily near the cottage. The cottage is very suitable for a couple but may be a challenge for four adults. Having said all the above, we have really enjoyed our three visits to Box Cottage.

Fab u lous

We were very comfortable in your cottage, and found everything we needed for our stay. We explored the surrounding countryside and little villages loved some of the delightful houses in the area, the weather was even better than we expected as it was late in the season thank you very much.

😊

Excellent accommodation extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. Lovely area for walking. Local pubs very good too. My only grumble is not knowing dogs are not allowed upstairs until we arrived although we managed to work around it. Would definitely stay again

A week in November

We were lucky with the weather but walked every day with the dog straight from the cottage- wonderful walks and beautiful scenery. The cottage is fantastic, everything you need, attention to detail, warm and comfortable. Great pubs in the area, especially The Anchor at Nayland, and all happy to have a muddy Golden Retriever in. Can recommend the cottage and the area for a really nice break.

Gorgeous cottage!

Box Valley cottage is super comfortable with lovely fittings and furnishings. The bed in the main bedroom was so comfortable, the garden is gorgeous and a lovely place to sit out on a summer evening. The Crown Inn was excellent both for food or just to go for a drink. The village has a well stocked shop which was great if you ran out of something. Location was great as we visited places in both Suffolk and Essex.

An amazingly clean and homely cottage.

We had an amazing few days away. Perfect for visiting other villages. We loved the garden and outside seating provided, and the weather enabled us to enjoy it too! Our dog also loved the outside space. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and there were even some dog treats. The inside was tastefully done and spotless.

Perfect Again!

Second time at this property and it did not disappoint. Extremely clean and very well appointed. The Bed in Master bedroom is really comfortable and cozy. The kitchen has everything you need to self cater. Will probably return for a third time!

A little Gem

This gem of a property is perfect. Every aspect of this rental is what you hope for when you book a rental. It was scrupulously clean and decorated with taste and charm. The log fire was perfect on a rainy cold November evening! We will return one day.

Small but perfectly formed

We spent a few days at this lovely little cottage. It’s been nicely converted fairly recently and done with flair and thoughtfulness. Any of those little things you may have forgotten you will almost certainly find in a drawer somewhere about the place. The owner has truly thought of everything. We were a tiny bit worried about the car parking, but needn’t have been, we were able to park on the road outside. We chose this place because we know and love Stoke by Nayland. A particularly lovely part of this gorgeous part of the country. Would visit again. Thank you for providing such a cute cosy property.

excellent few days

we had a lovely few days at stoke by nayland. box valley cottage was perfect for us, the cottage had been well thought out with nice touches, for example the speaker in the kitchen, nice to have the radio on with a cuppa in the mornings. our very timid dog even settled in quickly and enjoyed running in and out the enclosed rear garden. Welcoming pack was nice, really couldnt fault anything, we particularly liked the seating looking out on to the garden and luckily the weather was nice so we even got to sit on the garden bench before we headed out each day. there are nice walks around stoke by nayland and we also enjoyed trips to frinton on sea, dedham and flatford. The local dog friendly pubs were good, food was excellent. we will defiantly be returning at some point and will be recommending to friends and family.

Delightful comfy cottage

The cottage is excellent. Everything you could possibly need we found it here. Comfy bed with plenty of space for the two of us. Roomy kitchen diner opening straight on to a delightful back garden, fully enclosed, excellent piece of mind for us with the dog and lots of comfy seating provided with a BBQ should you need it. Parking space at side of house quite tight for our vehicle but always plenty of parking at the front of the cottage. Lots of local info provided and we ate out a couple of times at The Crown in the village which was very good. The only small gripe I had was that the oven needed a good clean and some of the cooking tins and pans could do with an update but as I don't go on holiday to cook this didn't bother us at all as Idylic Cotttages seem on the ball I am sure this will be rectified. Stoke By Nayland is a beautiful area and we are going home refreshed! Thank you.

Fabulous cottage in a beautiful area

Beautifully furnished cottage in a very pretty village. Really clean and well equipped, can’t think of anything to fault it. There is a lovely courtyard garden which would make a great outside space in warm weather. Parking absolutely not an issue. If the space next to the cottage is too tight for your car there is always room directly outside on the road (20mph limit). Great centre for walks either directly from the cottage or within easy distance. I had always discounted this area before as I thought it would be a bit urban being so close to the A12 and Colchester but that was very wrong. Very quiet and rural. Very cosy to return to after a day out with plenty of hot water for a good bath and really comfy bed (always two of my main criteria). Dog friendly along with treats left in the lovely welcome pack.

Box Valley Cottage

Very nice property, however, off-street parking is limited and we had to park on the road, which was busy during the day time. As mentioned the property was of an excellent standard and a great option for a couple or small family.
