About this property

Stunning and stylish abode, close to the golden sands of Mawgan Porth beach

Just a few minutes stroll from the golden sands and rolling surf of Mawgan Porth beach, situated just on the outskirts of Watergate Bay, is where you will find this stunning and stylish holiday home.

The Shore is a beautifully designed 'Green Smart' home with an open-plan living area on the first floor. Its vaulted ceilings and expansive glass sliding doors offer breathtaking views of the sea from the south-facing terrace.

The ground-floor master bedroom is sure to leave you in awe. It's spacious and well-lit, with large sliding doors that open up to the terrace on the ground floor. From there, you can enjoy the view of the garden while lying on the comfortable super-king size bed, which is adorned with luxurious linens. The ceiling has hi-res audio streaming speakers, and this bedroom comes with a luxury en-suite shower room. As you walk down the hallway, you'll come across a family bathroom that has a large bath and an overhead drench shower. There are also two more bedrooms, one with twin single beds that can be configured into a super-king size bed upon request, and a bunk bedroom that's perfect for children. Each bedroom has been decorated and furnished with great attention to detail.

Head upstairs to the first-floor where you can find an open-plan living area, a cloakroom, and an additional bedroom suite. The kitchen area boasts AEG appliances, stunning quartz worktops, and a Quooker instant hot water tap. The sitting area features a cosy corner sofa, a contemporary gas living flame fire, and a large dining table that offers a view of the front garden. The dining area can accommodate up to eight guests, perfect for a nice family dinner or a gathering with friends. Take advantage of some Cornish sunshine and step out to the balcony and enjoy the calming sound of the nearby sea.

The first-floor bedroom suite is truly impressive. It's roomy, with ample privacy, and offers a scenic view of the rear terraces and outdoor seating area. The bed is a lavish super-king size, and can also be arranged as twin beds if needed. Along with its exceptional en-suite shower room, which features modern fittings and a double walk-in shower, this space is ideal for unwinding and rejuvenating.

This holiday home offers landscaped gardens at both the front and back of the house. The front garden faces south and features a well-maintained lawn. The rear garden has a raised seating area, perfect for outdoor dining with a gas barbecue and garden dining table. After dinner, relax on the comfortable garden corner suite with a refreshing sundowner. Alternatively, take a leisurely stroll along the nearby beach or visit one of the local beach bars for a drink.

Style over substance

Style over substance? It may have the wow factor when you pull up, but once you enter, for us, it was poorly designed and styled, as no thought seems to have gone into the type of people who are going to stay i.e families who love the beach and sea. Unfortunately it is not practical beach holiday accommodation. Perhaps we are too picky, as we have been fortunate enough to stay in a number of luxury beach holiday lets, and know that attention to detail and taking the care and time to look at your potential market is key and makes all the difference. Sometimes it’s the small things that make the difference. Negatives: -was not clean when we arrived and we had to wait 1 1/2 hrs over the allocated arrival time and still it wasn’t clean (cleaners turned up at 2.30 to clean house and change the bed linen - check in time was 4.00!) and this was when it was supposed to have a deep clean due to COVID! -2 slice toaster for house that sleeps 8? should really be 4 slice toaster -Should have at least two televisions - not everyone wants to watch the same things (kids and adults) another should be in the master bedroom. -NO storage for beach gear I.e surf/body/paddle boards so although house is near the beach it is not beach friendly!!!! -master en-suite is too small you nearly dislocate your arm trying to get to the toilet roll! -no dressing table/mirror to sit at and dry/straighten your hair or put makeup on in the master bedroom (ideal space in master bedroom would be in the small alcove next to the en-suite) -blind next to entrance door would be good as can see when someone uses the main bathroom -master bedroom blinds have gaps in between so you are woken by the morning sun and not very private! (Especially from accommodation opposite - also can’t really sit in bed with blinds open unless you don’t mind being looked at!) -no parasol for shade on raised patio -storage or a cover needed for rattan cushions if rains -soundproofing is awful - in ground floor bedrooms you can hear EVERY sound from upstairs. From putting your mug on the coffee table to walking across the floor. -rooms are also extremely echoey -no hanging space for long dresses -small dog bed in front of fire but no dogs allowed? Positives : -Location to beach -showers are excellent -sofa is amazing and very comfortable -sun trap patio area (although no parasol) Would we stay here again? No Would we recommend? No Value for money? No
