We hope our guests enjoy our holiday home as much as we do. We have given the house a seaside theme to make it a relaxing get away from the daily routine. We have been managing holiday homes for five years. Our house has a lovely seaside vibe, situated right on Shore Road opposite the Marina and a stones throw from excellent restaurants, bistros, pubs and cafes, not to mention the local shops. The Exploris Aquarium is a short walk from the house which is a must for any visitor to Portaferry. Follow the road south from Portaferry to Ballyquintin Point, a beautiful area of windswept shore and farmland managed for nature by the National Trust. Here you have reached the end of the peninsula. Along the narrow country road heading north, look out for the entrance to St Cooey's Wells where 3 holy wells shelter in a hollow overlooking a stretch of rugged coastline. The drinking, eye and washing wells are still visited today and are reputed to have healing powers. Nearby Millin Bay Cairn is another enigmatic place, a neolithic burial site overlooking the sweeping sands of Millin Bay towards the Isle of Man on the horizon. Further along the coast is Kearney, a quaint cluster of whitewashed fisherman's cottages. The site is managed by the National Trust and is a popular spot for walkers to enjoy the wild beauty of this seascape. Pets are welcome, however must insist that they are kept downstairs for the duration of the stay. There is a stair gate located at the bottom of the stairs to prevent pets making their way upstairs. We also ask guests to keep pets off the downstairs sofas.

House was beautiful with everything necessary for a great weekend but would also be lovely for a longer stay. Everything was clean and extra little touches such as welcome basket, book, games, entertainment etc made it perfect.
Lovely cottage in a fantastic location overlooking Strangford Lough, we even saw dolphins from the kitchen window. Everything that we needed including a nice barbecue area and hot tub. I would strongly recommend this property to anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It is perfectly located within walking distance of cafe & hotels & the ferry. Parking was easy, right at the door. The supplied milk / bread / butter / eggs / chips were a welcome surprise. The property is beautifully decorated & welcoming. We were sorry to leave.
We really enjoyed our stay in Portaferry. The house was immaculate, spacious, and ideally located. We enjoyed the seaside views as well as walks in and around Portaferry. We also used it as a jumping off point to walk in the Mourne Mountains and for a trip into Belfast. The host left us a welcome basket which was so thoughtful. Thank you Michael for a wonderful stay!
Beautiful property. We'll equipped and in a quiet picturesque setting. Easy access to Belfast and surrounding area. We were lucky and had the Strangford festival to enjoy during our stay. The ferry made access to other areas easy.
Lovely views over the lough from the bedrooms and kitchen- nice when enjoying a morning cuppa.
Couldn't as for anything more from the property or area, it was just as we expected.
What a find! This stunning house on the sea front surpassed our expectations. Spacious, spotless and scenic. Michael’s communication with us was spot on and we even had option of early check in and late check out. I would not hesitate to return as the location was also fabulous! Lots of lovely places to eat around and we were very fortunate with the weather for January so could enjoy the beautiful views and the hot tub! Perfect weekend!
Beautifully presented house with everything you could possibly need provided.

Why they chose this property
This is a fantastic spot on the coast of County Down and we love the views out over the narrows. The house looks small from the outside but is very spacious inside with a large garden and patio at the rear.
