Our stay was lovely! We enjoyed the place and location, but what we appreciated the most was the communication with the host. Paul was there to welcome us, and in a very kind and pleasant manner, he made us feel at home. I would definitely return House Historic Center.
It's very close to the metro station, and walkable to the Douro River, which suited me perfectly.
The area is quirky, and the photos were accurate.
The condition of the interior is consistent with a terrace house of that age.
I enjoyed it, and would consider staying there again.
The house is very well situated for a visit to Porto. The Metro and the river are only a short distance away. A cafè for breakfast, a supermarket and restaurants are in walking distance. Maria and her husband were very helpful concerning questions.
We stayed in Gaia for easy access flying in and out of Porto (9/16 - 9/18 and 9/24-9/25). Everything was very good with the property except on the first visit, we could not find plates for meals. We did find plates when we came back through. We will look forward to staying in this convenient and comfortable space on our next visit. The hosts were very accommodating.

We arrived later than we wanted, in the dark due to difficulty securing a ride from the train station. We had to wait awhile for our host which seemed longer and we were anxious. The apartment was clean and cute in a great location. But like another visitor, we disliked the bedding and towels. No duvet, scratchy blankets, floor quality towels. A small thing that can be fixed. Then it would be perfect!
A pleasant apartment with two lovely double rooms and a shower room on the ground floor. The upstairs room had three beds, a balcony and a shower room which unfortunately has a leak causing the smell from the drain or vent pipe to be noticable in the shower room. We rarely used this shower room so it wasn't a big problem. Otherwise, the apartment is in a great location.

Location, location
Location was perfect for us in Gaia, close to port producers and within walking distance to old city of Porto. The place accommodated up to seven people but there was no living room to relax after a long day of walking. Only kitchen table and chairs. Host was very nice, made recommendations for places to eat. Parking was on the street for free. The bathroom had no fan or windows and made the place very humid after a shower. The kitchen was fully equipped with odds and ends pots, dishes and glasses.

Wasn’t what I expected
The GPS was taking me up roads that were too narrow for streets so the owner came and showed me a different way. Both owners r very pleasant. The ad said parking it was only street parking and nothing was available for several streets away. The downstairs is lovely up stairs is 4 camp bed not appropriate for an adult The bed linens were questionable and towels were old and had holes. The location was perfect it just needs a little extra attention
