Your home base at the Island House North has two bedrooms with one king bed and one with a queen size bed and two bath rooms, great ocean view from porch for relaxing time overlooking the pool. The rear porch for fantastic sunset views overlooking the tidal marsh sipping wine, relaxing drink or cold beer. Spacious living and dining area ocean views, sofa with pull out queen sleeper. Flat screen TV, 175 cable channels, DVD player, CD player and WiFi. In the event of some stormy weather we have included some games!

We really enjoyed this beach condo. The neighborhood is a bit run-down and from the outside the condo doesn't look like much. But it has been completely renovated and is gorgeous, clean, and well stocked! There really wasn't anything that we needed that was not there (except for a broom and dustpan.) The owner is very kind and helped me with a booking issue and was quick to respond to any questions I had. The location is great- super close to the beach which was important to us because we have a young child (4 yrs old.) The only issue we had was with the internet (which I didn't report to the owner because I have a hotspot) and the fact that we could not bring my husbands truck because there is no way to physically fit a truck in the parking spots. I am so grateful that my husband took the time to read other reviews to find this out or we would have been in trouble. Parking is exceptionally tight. I do think that the owner should mention this in the listing so as not to disappoint people. Also you have to bring your own beach chairs, but that's not a big deal to us. Overall I would recommend this place as it is affordable and right across the street from the beach. We plan on coming back again next year.

Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our visit! The unit was clean and well stocked! Very pretty! Parking spot was an issue for a larger vehicle. We would certainly stay there again.

Property has extremely tight areas for parking. You cannot fit a large SUV or truck on the inner side of the complex. Floor above us - people were obnoxiously loud and stomped the halls at night. Our condo was immaculately clean though. Stairway is very steep and mildewy. Public beach access at this location is closed.

Perfect stay and location

Super clean property! Convenient to the beach which felt like it was only a few steps away! Kitchen had any and everything we needed and beach towels galore! We will definitely book again!

Review of our stay

The property was nice, clean and well stocked. The beach was wonderful and full of beautiful sea shells. The reason I rated the Check In process low was because the combination for the door lock was NOT the combination listed in my Arrival Information packet, therefore, we could not access the condo immediately and had to wait for Tom to contact us after a long drive. Eventually this got resolved. Another inconvenience was the fact that none of the condos in this building have access to their respective storage lockers. This requires you to either carry your sandy beach chairs up into the condo or store them in your vehicle as protection against them getting stolen - a hassle for sure. Generally speaking, the stay was enjoyable.

Wonderful place!

This place was beautiful! Everything was updated, rooms were big and spacious. It was clean and ready to go when we got there. I love that it was minutes from the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Good location, house was dirty, in the middle of a re-model. We over paid for this house.

This house was not as advertised. Even though there was a new pet policy, when we arrived the house was filled with dog hair, the front two bedrooms smelled of cigarette smoke. The house was littered with roaches and flies. Many of the Electrical outlets, fans and light fixtures did not work. The Refrigerator did not get very cold and the Refrigerated air in the main living area stopped working on our last day. The stairway leading into the house was dark and dangerous to use during nighttime hours. There was a motion light detector on the stairway, however it was placed for the convenience for the live in tenant on the second floor. The outside showers were inoperable and the yard was a mess. Basically this house is in the early stages of a remodel with a lot of work to be done. Other family members rented close by and paid significantly less with better quality. We paid top dollar for a property that should not be rented in this condition.

Holiday weekend getaway

Our small family stayed for four nights over the Memorial Day weekend. The property is located at the northern end of CB, and is comfortably removed from the more commercial area a mile or so to the south. The unit itself was very clean, which was the first indication to me that we made a good choice. The kitchen and flooring are updated, and it's clear that the host is diligent in maintaining the unit. Also, great communication from the host from beginning to end. Some observations about the beach...the closest beach access had a "Closed" sign posted, but this was clearly not enforced. We used it, as did hundreds of others that weekend, without any problem. Half of the pier has been knocked off, presumably by a storm in recent years. There was no access to it (for fishing etc.), however the tiki bar at the near end of the pier was open. The beach directly in front of the property was wide and clean.

Much needed last minute getaway

We arrived fairly late in the evening and the property was pretty easy to find. Parking in the designated spot is a bit like 'threading a needle,' but as long as you can pull your side view mirrors in and you're careful, most vehicles shouldn't have an issue. Alternate parking is available. As another reviewer mentioned, the stairs have seen better days, but we didn't find them to be a problem. The host says they're scheduled to be taken care by the HOA soon. The property is exactly as pictured, you can tell a lot of thought went into decorating it. As another reviewer mentioned, you will have everything you need in the kitchen, to include a corkscrew and wine chiller. The property is in a great location, it's very convenient to everything. The biggest thing for me was the responsiveness of the host. We had one very minor issue and he took care of it very quickly. Tom's a nice guy who really wants to make sure you enjoy your stay. I wouldn't hesitate to book again, or to recommend the property to others!

Perfect getaway

Great location for low key beach stay. Easy walk to beach and tiki bar. Condo is cutely decorated and furniture/appliances/kitchen ware is high quality. Parking is tight but it did not pose a problem. Tried hard to keep sand outside where it belonged!

Fantastic time!!!

This is one of the best places I have stayed in Carolina Beach! the condo was amazing. Tom had everything we could think of. As in the other reviews, I would like to point out that it is VERY tight getting a vehicle behind the building to park. We foolishly had a full-size travel van and in the parking spot, we had maybe an inch on either side of the mirror in the designated parking spot. Fortunately, there are additional parking spots that can be used! I would recommend this place to any family looking for a super convenient spot to vacation!

I totally loved the condo. Well equipped Beautifully decorated A view of beach 👌🏼 A view of sunset 👌🏼 The hall and steps need attention I actually caught the Rip with my sandal and went down on my bum 😩 I’ve got bruises to prove it Please address that someone else may not handle it as nicely. Also we left our echo dot on tv stand 😤 My brother is still in town and can pick up today lmk if that code is still good. Thanks Again Tom and God Bless
