Our house is located in the small, idyllic village of Furudals Bruk in Dalarna / Central Sweden. Secluded and yet central. Exactly the right thing for people who want to relax and enjoy nature from all sides - whether summer or winter - whether young or old.
The listed house stands on a 5000 square meter natural plot with its own lake access and was originally built about 100 years ago as a workers' accommodation.
Half of the house is used privately by us and the other half consists of a large holiday apartment with about 55 square meters. The property borders on the Oreälven, about 40 meters from the house, which flows into a dam and offers a large number of fish.
The apartment itself consists of a kitchen, bathroom, 1 living room and 1 bedroom and offers sleeping space for 4 people (+ a toddler). The kitchen is equipped with all kitchen utensils for daily use and if something is missing, we are at your disposal. In the living room you will find a TV with German and Swedish programs as well as a sofa bed.
Bed linen and towels are provided by us at no additional cost.
Terrace, as well as barbecue area and open fireplace under the starry sky.
A paradise for fishermen or simply for nature lovers. There are enough forests and bodies of water in the vicinity. Whether winter or summer, this place always offers something special. A golf course is even within walking distance and a cross-country magnifier is also available in Furudalen. A Norwegian Veterans Museum and an Agriculture Museum were built in the village itself. If you feel like spending a nice, quiet holiday with us, just get in touch. Who finds spelling mistakes may keep them!
Furudals Bruk is a small village from the 17th century where iron production kept the place alive.
In Furudal, 5 km away, there is a gas station, a grocery store, a restaurant, a bakery, an ice rink, a small post office and a tourist information office.
Only 10 km away is a small "Fäbod" called Ärteråsen with an old fire tower that offers a fantastic view and is a must for a day trip.
In the direction of Rättvik, the place Boda Kyrkby with a very beautiful nature reserve called Styggforsen is right on the way.
Rättvik is 40 km away and Mora is 60 km away. Both places offer a lot of sights. Mora is known for the Vasaloppet or simply a trip to a museum, shopping or to eat comfortably in a restaurant.
In about 60 km you will also find the Grönklitt ski area where the largest bear park in Europe can be found. You shouldn't forget to mention the great view.
In 70 km there is also the Tomteland in Gesunda with another ski area.
We also rent out rowing boats, canoes and kayaks and our hot tub. Dogs are also very welcome with us. Upon agreement, we can also provide children's toys.

What a lovely place to stay, and great hosts. We very much hope to visit again sometime 😊 All the essentials were provided for preparing our own food. We were able to borrow their sledges, use hot tub & they helped us do ice fishing. We had a great time :)
