External games room with snooker table and dart board.. Enclosed, lawned garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and BBQ. Hot tub for 6 (private). Gym (shared with owner). 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (working farm). Bike and canoe store. Private parking for 3 cars. Wheelchair access. No smoking.. This all on one level cottage situated on a working farm has enclosed private gardens with its own private hot tub and external games room.

The magnificent Ayrshire coastline and countryside is a paradise for walkers, bikers and hikers, with numerous coastal trails and country tracks to explore. The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs along this coastline and is very popular with walkers. The area is steeped in history, with many ruined castles to explore, such as Dunure, Turnberry and Greenan.

A visit and tour of Culzean Castle, designed by Robert Adams and truly one of his masterpieces, is one not to be missed with its dramatic clifftop location, as is a trip to the 18th century Dumfries House, part of the Princes Foundation and home to an unrivalled collection of Chippendale furniture. The 2000-acre estate has been beautifully designed with stunning walks throughout the grounds.

The world-famous Royal Troon golf course is only a 5-minute drive. The pretty seaside towns of Ayr, Prestwick and Troon are only a short drive and there are very good rail links for a trip to the cosmopolitan city of Glasgow. The islands of Cumbrae and Arran are easily reached for a day out. Beach 3 miles. Pub 1½ miles and shop 2¾ miles.

This was my second stay at Rowan Muir for one week.

This was my second stay at Rowan Muir for one week. This time with my husband, two adult children, my mum and dad, my sister, niece and two dogs. We all really enjoyed our stay from the youngest who was 17 to the oldest who was 84 year old. The cottage had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, games room with pool table, darts & table football in the garage, gym in the outbuilding and hot tub in the garden which were all well used during our stay.Lillias was a great host with beautiful flowers and a lovely welcome basket with bread, milk, wine, crisps, biscuits and chocolates in the kitchen. It is a lovely welcome and just what you need on arrival after your journey. She came to check in with us at the start and end of our stay to make sure everything was okay which it was.I will be recommending this cottage to family and friends. I will definitely return again with family or friends in the future to this excellent cottage in a great location, it is clean, well equipped and everything you need for a great stay.

A Cracking Cottage in Kilmarnock!!!!

My family and I had a fantastic time at Rowan Muir!!! The property owners were so lovely, friendly and hospitable which put us at ease straight away. The beds are comfortable, the cottage is spotlessly clean, the kitchen has everything you need and more which helped us feel like this was a home from from! The hot tub and games room were amazing! It was hard to pull ourselves away from it and venture out as it is was so comfortable and has everything you can possibly need. We most definitely will be back again but for a longer stay next time. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday
