About this property

La Posada de Leza

This 5 bedroom, 3 story, centuries old stone home has been meticulously renovated in 2020. The owners have respected the building's old world charm while incorporating all the necessary modern comforts. Beds are dressed with incredibly comfortable bedding, mattresses are of the highest quality and fluffy towels are provided in abundance. La Posada de Leza boasts two complete kitchens, one for general use and the other for professionals and catering. A large fireplace presides over the Txoco that comfortably seats 20 guests in family style charm typical of the Basque Country. Complimentary wifi reaches every corner of the home and the office is equipped with a desk and laser printer and day bed for the guest's convenience. We are a pet friendly property and we welcome four legged guests and their house trained humans.

The owner is a winemaker from California in love with the Basque Country and the Rioja Alavesa.

BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS AND BEAUTIFUL VIEWS: As soon as you arrive in Leza, the beautiful buildings that appear in its streets will call your attention, among which is La Posada de Leza. The town center preserves a multitude of Renaissance-style houses. We can also visit the church of San Martín, which stands out, among other characteristics, for its Elizabethan façade. In the surroundings of the town, it is worth highlighting the dolmen of "El Sotillo". Discovered in 1955, it has a circular chamber with 9 slabs. On the other hand, if we ascend through the port of Herrera, we will find the viewpoint of the "Balcón de La Rioja". From this privileged place, we can see a splendid panoramic view of the entire Rioja Alavesa region.

100% fantastic!!! Couldn't be better! Robert and Terri are lovely hosts - sent recommendations before we arrived and showed us all around the property once we got there. They also thought of the small touches, like the coffee set-up in the upstairs lounge, or the oranges and juicer in the kitchen. Location was great. Leza is a small town - but if you needed something that wasn't available in Leza, the larger town of Laguardia is only a few minutes drive away. We did a wine tour, and all the wineries were within 30 minutes of the property. Would definitely stay there again if going back to Rioja.
