We loved staying in the Southwest Cottage at Pleasant days. The host was so accommodating are very nice. We loved feeding the horses and interacting with the dogs on site. We have already made reservations to stay again in August. We highly recommend staying here!!!
Great place for a getaway! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book this property again. Comfortable place to stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Got there in the dark, directions were pretty straight forward, but it still seemed a little invasive with the house so close. Internet didn't work well until the host reset it in the morning, so we couldn't use the Roku system on the TV or login to our computer internet. Since we got there so late it just didn't feel right to pester the host about it. Dogs were super friendly and didn't bark. The host was friendly and accomodating
I did have some major difficulties communicating with the host initially but we were able to get back on track and in person, he was a very friendly, sweet man. The cabin is perfectly located between Three Sisters and Seven Sisters Springs and other beautiful Nature Coast locations. It was quiet and you'll appreciate the nice, dark, starry skies if you're coming from a more urban location. The check-in instructions were clear and the cabin was clean and comfortable. The host has four very friendly dogs that greet you when you arrive.
Quiet spot not too far from Homosassa and Crystal River. 4 friendly dogs on the property that are within the fenced in area of the Southwest Cottage. There is another cottage/rental on the property but it across the property past the horse barn (the 2 horses love carrots) and not visible from the Southwest Cottage. Host lives on the property and was friendly and quickly responded to questions and any issues.Clean, simple accommodations for two people, would stay again.
Dan was very communicative after the electricity went out do to lightening. The continental breakfast was 2 quickmart danish and no ice in the freezer.
This was convenient to the golf resort and Homassas Springs.

I am happy that we met your expectations. In the future I will have ice in the freezer. Thank you for the suggestion.
Came up to Homosassa to see the Manatees. Needed a place to spend the night and it fit the bill perfectly. Small place with a comfy bed and sitting area. Bathroom was nice. No kitchen or microwave. Electric kettle for instant coffee (provided) was a nice touch. Grounds were great, got to feed the horses some carrots too! Thanks for letting us stay there. All the best to Dan and his wife and family❤️
Would have been ok for a weekend but a week was too long. Needed to have a microwave so you could eat in some. European breakfast was not really a breakfast at all.
The property is as the pictures show. I'd add that the owners have 2 large dogs that are friendly and will come running at you barking... scared the life out of me!! Would have been nice to be warned ahead of time. The shower is dark, hard to see, and could use a fresh coat of paint to cover the mold/water stains. There is a de humidifier that runs continuously, or it gets musty smelling. If your not expecting much, you'll be happy. I was not, I am satisfied with my stay. I just needed a bad and a shower. That is what I got! :)

Very good, except for...
Let me first start by saying that Dan and Barbara are very hospitable and their property is really beautiful. We weren't there for long during the daylight because we spent the whole day at Crystal River, but it is very peaceful and quaint from what we saw. Well, mostly peaceful. The first night we stayed was quiet, but the second night was not. After we got back, sometime around 8 or 9, we heard some loud pops that, at first, sounded like fireworks, but when we heard them again it was clear that it was a gun - probably a semi-automatic rifle firing in succession. Every 10 to 30 minutes until about 2:15am we heard them... sometimes it was 3 shots, sometimes it was close to 10.... and it was very loud. I can only assume that it was a close neighbor to them, because of how loud it was. I don't know why they felt the need to shoot that late at night, but it kept waking me up until it finally stopped after 2am. I didn't feel unsafe necessarily, but that sound in such a close proximity is definitely enough to wake me up easily. The next morning, I texted Dan to tell him about it, and he never responded - which was a little odd. Overall, it was not a terrible stay, but it definitely could've been better if I had gotten more sleep. Maybe they should recommend that guests bring earplugs.

This property was great for a little getaway type vacation. Dan was super informative and very prompt with instructions and being there to meet us when we arrived. We stayed there one night and honestly enjoyed the quietness of the night and early morning as we checked in and out. Great place !!!!!!!
