Short walk to transit, small grocery stores nearby, about 18 minute walk to the Tower of London. Extra set of keys was very helpful to allow family to split up. Raising blinds needs slow deliberate care.
Shane was beyond helpful from answering quickly to my questions; meeting us upon our arrival and answering any questions we had. It’s great having some space while on vacation- and access to fridge, oven, microwave and washing machine. Thanks Shane!
Location ideal. Very Quiet and Close to trains. Interesting building. Clean and well appointed. Our host was Extremely accommodating . Will definitely stay again.
We were visiting London on vacation and absolutely loved having this as our base of operations. The base was clean, functional and conveniently located near public transportation. The Whitechapel neighborhood is up-and-coming and it was nice to see the working side of London as opposed to staying in a touristy spot.
Shane was absolutely fantastic as a host. Attentive yet gave us our space during our visit. Highly recommended.
great little place, about a 15 minute walk to the city for work, but a great area with lots of stuff going on. Shane was awesome to work with and super flexible.
The apartment is in a perfect place to visit the city.
The apartment was found clean end well equipped with everything a family could need.
The landlord was very kind and helpful.
I am sure: in case of new trip to London, this is the place I wannabe.

We had a wonderful stay here! It was a short walk to the Aldgate East tube station and about a 10-15 minute walk to the Whitechapel station making it an ideal location for getting anywhere. The flat was well equipped with everything we needed, from pots and pans to shampoo, dishwasher and laundry tabs and more. Our host was wonderful and communicated well with us on the check in and out instructions. We loved the handbook of things to know about the house and how to use appliances as well as tips for around the neighborhood. It was only a handful of steps to the flat so easy to navigate with luggage. The building and street were quiet. We had a wonderful stay!
Small but perfectly lovely 1 bedroom apt. that is reasonably priced for London. We were 3: a grandfather, a daughter and a grandson and the place was perfect for us. Good sized kitchen allowed us to eat some meals in. Great places to eat nearby. Spent 9 days touring London and couldn't have asked for a better location. 5 minute walk to the tube. Shane is a lovely and responsive host. Highly recommended.
My family and I absolutely loved this flat! It was perfect for our family of 4! And it was only a 15 minute walk to the tower of London and a 5 min walk to the underground! Shane was a great host and my kids loved meeting his cute little daughter! He even had a Christmas tree in there for us! Thank you for everything!!
We found this place ideal as so many other properties were so expensive. It is out of the tourist area but super close to the Underground and access to all the main sites. There are plenty of grocery stores/ markets nearby. Everyone we met coming in and out of the building was really nice. The apartment is actually brighter and airier than the pictures depict. My husband and I stayed here for four days with our two 13 year olds. Sofa bed was plenty comfortable for them. Having laundry was amazing. There is no microwave, but that didn’t bother us much. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to see the city and looking for an affordable place.
Shane made the check in super easy as he met us and let us into the flat and showed us where to find everything. We didn’t see a cab right when we got out of the tube station, so we walked. It was less than 20 minutes. The walk to the District Line at Altgade East was even closer, probably 15 minutes.
The furnishings are nothing fancy, but functional. The queen bed in the master was fine, and the pull out bed in the living area was perfect for our young adult daughter.
We always felt safe walking to, from the tube station or to the many pubs, markets, attractions within a 30 minute radius.
We used this London VRBO as a base to explore all of London. What we loved was that it was off the beaten path, and it felt like we were living as Londoners and not as tourists. Everything was in close proximity, which is what we were looking for in a VRBO. Just a short walk to the tube, including access to the new Elizabeth line. Grocery stores just a few blocks, including Amazon Fresh, which turned out to be one of our favorites! Many charming cafes and ethnic restaurants are within minutes of this flat. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of space to maneuver luggage in the room. The only negative was the shades didn't prevent the light from shining in the room. We'd suggest black-out shades for future guests. Other than that, we were super satisfied and appreciated Shanes hospitality.
Our family of two adults, a 10-year old and a 7-year old stayed for 4 nights in October. The property is in a good location for a visit to London city, about a 10-minute walk from the nearest tube station, but only 2 minutes from a bus line, the latter proving to be most convenient for quicker (and cheaper) trips to Trafalgar Square, Tower of London, St. Paul's and other sites on our list. Shane proved an extremely responsive host, met us for an early check-in, and responded to questions quickly throughout our stay. There are more kitchen amenities than described, including a dishwasher and in-unit washer/dryer. The wifi is strong and was adequate for all our needs. The unit does front a residential street and we did contend with some unfortunate street noise one night (but this certainly would not disqualify a repeat stay!) Highly recommend as an affordable, convenient, family-friendly flat for a London visit.
Great apartment, easy check in, the key is only 10min walking available if check in time doesn't match the owner's availability. Communication with owner was really nice and easy, we were allowed to check in early. In the appartement everything was perfect. Thanks so much!
Shane was a great host - communication and check in was smooth, and apartment was new and clean, with a great central location - literally a 15 min walk from Tower Bridge/Tower of London. Provided great local recommendations for food + activities. Would definitely stay again!
Nice apartment for families for a week stay in London
Really nice apartment with good layout in a quiet area but still quite near the City/Tower of London. 7 minutes walk to Aldgate East Underground station. Housekeeping (dust) needs to be improved and the bathroom requires an upgrade.
