About this property
Riverside 3 bedroom 2 bath near Baxter State Park
Snowmobile riders - there is not trail access directly from the house. But there is a trail 1 mile from the house. It is located across the street at the intersection of Route 157 and Medway (Rice Farm) Rd. Our guests have used the side of the road to get to the trail.
Whitewater rafters, if you book with Jump and Raft, their new headquarters are directly across the street from the house. Just walk across the street to get on the bus. Very convenient! There is also a restaurant there.
Outdoor lover’s paradise with boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, whitewater rafting, four wheeling, moose and bird watching all available nearby.

The house is just minutes away from town in a quiet private area. We were very comfortable staying here . The kitchen is set up nicely and has a bar and ample dining table. The livingroom is very comfortable. The bedrooms are good size. Everything was clean and described. Will rent this space again when in the area
Check-in was a breeze and the kitchen was well-appointed and very clean. Location is spectacular. A canoe and two kayaks were provided and we used them every day. If you want to see bald eagles, this is your place!

Gorgeous location along the River! Peaceful and exactly what we were looking for.
This was the best vacation our family had in a long time. It’s private, and spacious, and close to town but right on the water. We would stay again for sure.
Beautiful waterfront. Having a canoe and two kayaks on property was great for the four of us. Didn’t see a moose though (much sadness). Nice kitchen layout. Baxter state park was only about a 30 minute drive. Host was great and helped us work thru any issues we had.
We were so pleased when we drove up and saw this house. The layout was great the location is great. It was a good homebase for a white water rafting trip.
We came to the area to go whitewater rafting on the Penobscot River. Millinocket is a small town with a great breakfast spot-The Appalachian Trail cafe. The only issue we had was that there was no air conditioning on a very warm day and holes in screens so there were mosquitos and moths in the house.

beautiful location
Beautiful location and home. It is difficult to find the home though, and putting a house # at the start of the driveway or a cabin name would be a big help, especially when people are arriving at dark.
This place is great!
Close to town, but when you're home, you feel like you're the only one on the planet!
Quiet and clean, this house is great!
The fire pit was awesome and used every night!
Plenty of outdoor spaces to eat, drink and be merry!
Highly recommend this house!
My husband and I stayed here with our adult daughter and her fiancé. The cabin was secluded yet close to town for food and a short distance to Mt Katahdin/Baxter State Park. We were able to enjoy a campfire in the evening and watch an eagle and loons in the morning along the river. The kitchen was fully equipped where we enjoyed cooking our meals together. There was plenty of space to spread out to talk, read or watch movies and beds were comfortable. We would stay here again!
5 Stars – Perfect Riverside Retreat in Millinocket
Absolutely loved our stay at this incredible property on the Penobscot River. The location was unbeatable—peaceful, remote, and quiet, yet just a short drive to downtown Millinocket. The house had everything we needed and more, but it was the outdoor space that really set it apart. From the rope swing and fire pit to the spacious deck overlooking the river, it was a dream setup for our family. The fishing was phenomenal, and we were lucky enough to spot bald eagles and loons while out on the water. My boys and I made unforgettable memories and were genuinely reluctant to leave. We’re already looking forward to a much longer stay next summer. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
We had a wonderful time just renewing ourselves!! The windows toward the water kept us mesmerized even though we had a lot of rain. This has been on my bucket list for years and it was everything and more such beautiful colors perfect timing! Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin!!!
Everything was very nice. We tried to start the towels in the washing machine, but there was no detergent.

Although the cabin and property appear very nice, within a couple hours we noticed several issues. There's a smell inside like a wet dog. Dust and dog hair everywhere caused a pretty major asthma attack, which required a nebulizer treatment. Then late at night the mice came out and were running around and gnawing something. We had to leave after that one night. I will be seeking a refund immediately.
Lovely, quiet lodging on W. Branch of Penobscot River
Loved having a drink and watching the sunset on the three outdoor seating spots on porch and backyard and on platform off steps to the river. Also enjoyed seeing the full bright “Blue Moon” sinking down behind the trees during the night from thee we fabulous huge bedroom window . We felt miles from civilization, yet we were so conveniently located to the road up to Baxter for hiking, Katahdin General store, Hannaford’s and the road to the Lumbermen’s Museum up in Patten. The house was spotless and had everything a renter could possibly need. We highly recommend this house and hope to return.
Our luck we pick the hottest week to rent a house with no air conditioning. However we made the best of it, the river kept us cool during the day and the fire at night kept us warm from the river breeze. We put the fans in the windows in the evening to cool the house down. At one point the master bedroom got to 94 degrees. We were only left enough propane out of 2 tanks for 2 meals which was a disappointment and we’re only left with 1 roll of paper towels. The house in spots needs some TLC, (front stairs, the light switch in the bathroom if worn causing the lights to flicker)but otherwise we truly enjoyed our stay at this secluded and peaceful rental

Disappointing
Dated and in disrepair. One shower did not work. Some windows did not operate properly. Screen on sliding door binds and falls out of track. Lights flickered and first floor bathroom light did not work properly even after i replaced the bulbs. Dog hair in dryer and on floor from previous guest. Location is good and quiet however I would not recommend.
