About this property

Secluded Katahdin View, Lakefront Bliss & Beach Cove Retreat

Katahdin Cove Cabin

Welcome to our rustic and charming handcrafted cabin nestled in the heart of the Maine northern woods. Please take a moment to read through our comprehensive listing description to ensure a delightful stay.

Rustic Charm and Natural Beauty
Our cabin, built in the traditional Maine style, showcases the beauty of pine and cedar. With its unique craftsmanship, it offers a truly authentic experience. Dating back to 1972, this cozy 1,300 sqft retreat combines rustic ambiance with modern conveniences.

Lakefront Paradise
Immerse yourself in the tranquility of our secluded location, boasting 425 feet of stunning water frontage on Lake Ambajejus. Enjoy breathtaking views of Katahdin, Maine's highest peak. Explore two beautiful beaches, one right in front of the cabin and another accessible via a wooded trail through the forest, leading to a private sand beach cove complete with a second dock. We have kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards available at the beach cove for your use.

Unwind Around the Fire Pit
Soak in the breathtaking view of Katahdin from the wooden benches around the fire pit. Marvel at the ever-changing sky as it paints a stunning backdrop against the mountain's rugged silhouette. Enjoy roasting marshmallows and sharing stories under the starry sky. Ample firewood is provided for your convenience, ensuring unforgettable evenings in nature's embrace.

Comfortable Accommodations
The cabin features three cozy bedrooms upstairs, including two with a double bed and another with two twin beds. Additional sleeping arrangements can be found in the loft and the Great Room, where a double futon awaits. We accommodate a maximum of eight guests, ensuring everyone finds their perfect spot. Bed linens, pillows, quilts, hand towels, and a bath towel set for each guest are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.

Modern Amenities with Rustic Appeal
While embracing its rustic nature, our cabin provides essential modern amenities. The water is pumped from the lake, for drinking water, we offer information about a local spring (you can also bring your own bottled water). The cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, microwave, electric range, cookware, dishware, and utensils. A four-burner gas grill and a high-powered propane burner for outdoor lobster cooking are also provided. Stay comfortable with a gas log fireplace, electric fireplace, and propane wall heater. Please note that the wood stove and antique gas lights are not for guest use.

Nature's Wonders
Please be aware that our cabin is nestled in the wilderness, accessed via a dirt road approximately 3 miles from pavement. As such, dust, bugs, spiders, and spiderwebs are part of the experience. While we strive to maintain cleanliness, please understand that it may not be on par with a traditional house. Our cabin is perfect for those who embrace nature's beauty and seek an adventurous, fun-filled experience.

Immerse Yourself in the Surrounding Area
Lake Ambajejusis part of the pristine Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes, spanning 14 miles and retaining its true wilderness allure. Look forward to encountering abundant loons, majestic eagles, and a myriad of other birds and wildlife.

Convenience and Local Attractions
A convenience store, restaurants, pub, and brewery are located nearby. Next to The Golden Crossing (convenience store), is a boat launch at the dike. Town amenities, including grocery stores and additional dining options, are just 15 minutes away. For your convenience, we provide a detailed Welcome Guide upon booking, highlighting local restaurants, breweries, pubs, and nearby outdoor activities with names and addresses of everything you might want to know nearby.

Disconnect and Reconnect
Please note that there is WiFi but no TV in the cabin. If you desire additional entertainment, plan to bring a portable DVD player, laptop, or other devices for personal use. Cell service may be unreliable, yet most cell providers do work on our peninsula while at the cabin.

Rustic yes
Nice cabin for seclusion and quick enough access to Baxter State Park. Note this is a half bath house not full…only shower is outside so be prepared for that. Beautiful view of lake and Mt Katahdin. Beach area made for easy access of water on kayaks and canoes.

Everything you need in a vacation!
The cabin was so great with amazing views and so many amenities. The outside shower was my favorite! The temperature on the beach vs dock out front can be so different! It was great to have so many outside areas. Easy drive to Baxter state park. We loved our stay :)
