Beachfront ground level 2 bedrooms with queen/double size beds, one sofa bed in the living room. Full kitchen, large TV, fireplace, bathtub/shower and a stunning view of the ocean. Secluded beach, oceanfront hot tub, kayak/paddleboard rentals May 15 to Sep 30, clam/oyster bed, fish from shore. Max capacity is 6 including infants. Patio with outdoor furnishings & dining table. Oceanfront hot tub, BBQ, watercraft rentals & 1 FREE KIDS KAYAK unlimited use May long weekend until the end of Sept. We do not include Beach Towels, cooking oil, paper towels or personal toiletries. Such a great spot!

This property could not be more perfectly situated! It is right on the beach. The cottages are small but clean and comfortable. The property manager is amazing and super helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Our family vacation at this property was wonderful! The resort is comfortably small and personal, yet allowed us as much privacy as we wanted. Our children loved playing on the beach and discovering the sea life under the rocks and tidal pools. I loved that there were beach chairs available for us to use and keep an eye on the children while relaxing with adults. I would love to make this an annual trip!

Oceanfront, fresh, stylish and cosy.

Our family of 5 enjoyed being right on the ocean. The 2 bedroom accommodation worked well with 1 teenager sleeping on the couch. The kitchen had the essentials. The linens, and beds were comfortable. Everything smelled so good. We enjoyed using the beach chairs. I loved the the palm tree and flowers. Renting the kayaks, the driftwood beach fire, fishing on the beach, the location on the island… Excellent holiday.

Nice view but !

The property is clean but unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectations for the price they charge for this property This property is very small if you’re more than two it has no heat on the bedrooms only on the Living Room If you need items they’re listed on the property he had to contact each time the owner of the property which is very inconvenient is not handy in the room like Hair dryer Utensils for the barbeque We try about 20 minutes to make breakfast for cooking you have an electric plate and it was very hard to make it work and as they forgot to leave instructions in the premises so I had to contact the owner to help us out with this matter and she told me to read instructions even though they were not there instead of trying to help me to make it work as she didn’t know either how to make it work she had to re-search for the instructions for this very inconvenient Right after I booked this property I call in the property as I have some questions I try to be booked and reserve a time for the hot tub as we knew were going to be arriving late the owner say I couldn’t do by the phone that I need to be there as I arrive she told me all the time for the hot tub for that day is been booked so we cannot use it for the day I have stayed in many other properties around the world or even on the island and they always trying to anticipate your necessities as simple as paper towels (not available on this property) or be able to watch a movie with no commercials as they don’t have Netflix or any other service for that Don’t get me wrong the property is Lovely and clean (the owner is nice and friendly) good location but unfortunately not for us For $1393 for 3 nights the we pay we have stay in a 5 star properties and this is not it

I'm so sorry you felt uncared for. As you did not arrive until late in the evening, the hot tub had already been reserved, as you described, we do not take phone reservations, so that all guests get the same opportunity for times. We try to be as green as possible, thus not supplying paper towels, but rather rags that can be washed. Hair dryers are available at office, as was described, due to many hair dryers leaving the property by accident. The hot plate is actually a new induction stove in our newly renovated suites, that was accidentally locked, by wiping it off and pressing the child lock button. My first time having come across this problem, but unlocked after reading the instructions. The price claimed to be charged is totally false...$300 of the $1390 was a refundable deposit. We continue to address all constructive and accurate criticism to improve our property.

Lovely little gem

Not being familiar with the area, we were a bit surprised that the property is not actually in Qualicum Beach as the listing implies, however this turned out to be a good thing. The location is stunning, quiet and charming. The hosts are delightful and obviously take pride in their resort (most importantly, the beds are very comfortable). We enjoyed our daily beachcombing and evenings in the hot tub. The nearby Lighthouse Country Trail is absolutely stunning and our family also took in the Horne Lake Caves, which we highly recommend. We will definitely stay at this resort again.

Happy stay

Beautiful stay right on the beach; view from the hot tub was amazing. Cottage was bigger than we expected (I thought it was a one room but it was a two bedroom!). Sofa and throw pillows smelled musty, the information brochure at the table was warped and water damaged, and there were a few scary spiders in our suite that resulted in a less than 5 star feel. Was also much further from Qualicum Beach than expected - 20 minute drive, when I mistakenly understood that it was right in town. I think the advertising may be somewhat misleading in that regard. Overall nice place.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Difficult to keep out the spiders when we have a forest behind us. I will talk to the new cleaner about your concerns. We are at the office until 11 p.m should you need anything, or replacement articles. I will definitely make sure that I include the 15 klms north of Qualicum Beach. Tell your Mum that everyone loves my new masks.

Lovely Family Retreat

Beautiful setting

We enjoyed our stay and loved the property and the peacefulness and gifts of nature. We were father from Qualicum beach than we had expected from the listing. The place is small and the cooking facilities are minimal (bar fridge, 2 burners, no oven).

Great location for little kids and excellent host!

Shady Shores was the perfect location for our little two year old son. We loved being just steps away from the beach where he could throw rocks in the water and explore tide pools for crabs and shells. The owner was very attentive to all our needs and very helpful in providing advice on things to do in the area that would be good for our little one to enjoy. The units were very nice and clean however, a bit on the small end for a two bedroom. The kitchen was adequate for making breakfast or simple meals but we found it a bit small for making larger meals so it just meant we got to take advantage of trying different restaurants in the area for suppers so not a big deal. If one was planning to cook all their meals in this unit or have more than two adults stay in the unit you may find it a bit small for that. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Thanks "Shady"!

Cozy Quarters

We enjoyed ourselves in spite of the cramped quarters... we thought we had arranged for a three bedroom place, but this was actually a 2 bedroom space with a hide-a-bed added in the living room. The kitchenette was also very small with no common dining area so eating meals as a family would have been a challenge if the weather was poor... fortunately the sun was on our side and we were able to eat at the outdoor table and enjoy the ocean views! The activities at/near Shady Shores made our stay memorable and our host, Carolyn, was delightful!

Beautiful location...

We enjoyed our stay...our 2 bedroom was cosy but big enough for 4 of us. We would have enjoyed a larger fridge but there wouldn't be enough space for that. Also some wee items like paper towels and Kleenex. The gas fireplace was great and warmed the space nicely. We would definitely stay here again!
