About this property

No. 33 Woodlands Cottage, Heacham, Norfolk

This Norfolk beauty is a wonderfully stylish romantic bolthole, set peacefully on the outskirts of the village of Heacham adjacent to a fabulous golf course. With sea views from the bedrooms and sea glimpses from the outside sun deck, this carrstone detached cottage is private and cosy, yet offers lots of space and sits within its own fully-enclosed garden.

Perfect for those seeking a Norfolk escape, this seriously lovely retreat is positioned on the edge of the village and is ideal for those wanting a break by themselves, or equally special for one or two couples. And if you are looking to spoil yourself, then a visit to Heacham Manor to dine in their restaurant or take afternoon tea or indeed enjoy a relaxing spa treatment is within a short walk.

Step inside No. 33 Woodlands Cottage and you'll see that the owner hasn't held back in her use of beautiful wallpapers and furnishings to make this retreat so comfortable and special. There's a well-equipped kitchen with red Aga, a separate beautifully-appointed and styled sitting room with large sofa and comfortable arm chairs, Smart television plus wood burning stove for cosy nights in, and a spacious dining area. On warmer days let the inside in through the pretty stable door which leads out onto a generous sun deck and down onto a private lawned garden. You'll love dining alfresco when the days are long and warm. After a busy day exploring, retire upstairs to the luxurious and generous king-size master bedroom or the twin bedroom, both with sea views and served by a family bathroom. Outside you'll find a gorgeous, fully-enclosed garden with a generous deck with table and chairs and parasol, meaning you can sunbathe, dine outside and make use of the barbecue or watch the sun go down over the sea with a chilled glass of wine; or wrap-up under a blanket after nightfall with a hot chocolate and stargaze.

No. 33 Woodlands Cottage is close to the village centre (a 20-minute walk) and all that north Norfolk has to offer, with two beaches on your doorstep and within easy walking distance of the cottage, which can be accessed via the golf course. Also being close to the Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton and pretty village of Thornham, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the numerous dining and shopping opportunities and water activities such as kayaking and paddle-boarding. Heacham has many footpaths to discover, and a great beach side promenade that stretches all the way to the iconic carrstone cliffs of neighbouring Hunstanton. Look out for popular Bordoli's pizza truck that visits the village on a Wednesday evening, and be sure to sample the gooiest of treats from Breakfast and Brownies on the high street. There is also a great antiques shop and cafe to be found next to the Tesco Express. For a larger supermarket, Lidl is located on on the road to Snettisham, and there is a big Tescos in Hunstanton, which also has EV chargers in the car park and a fuel station. For a special culinary experience, head inland to the village of Docking to sample the delights of the Nest Farmhouse, run by a Michelin star award

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this beautiful cottage. Location is excellent for visiting some of the best beaches in North Norfolk, our favourite was Holme next the sea, but Old Hunstanton, Heacham, brancaster within a few minutes drive, also some lovely pubs and eating places again within minutes of the property and even a spa at Heacham manor next door. The cottage itself is lovely decorated in a lovely bright design and very homely. Everything you could need for cooking is provided for and I even cooked for the first time in an AGA they are amazing. Cleanliness is a big thing for me and this cottage was spotless, lovely crisp white sheets, fluffy towels and even a couple of bathrobes which was a nice touch.Arrived to a lovely generous welcome hamper with a lovely sourdough bread and some very naughty luxury biscuits! Again such a nice touch. Along with a nice coffee maker and pods provided. Our stay was perfect and would just like to say a big thank you to the owner for allowing us to stay an extra day as sadly the day we were meant to arrive resulted in an emergency vet appointment so we could not arrive until the next day. Luckily doggie was fine and he enjoyed his holiday after a worrying start! We will definitely visit No33 again when we holiday in this part of Norfolk again it really is 5***** Thank you x

A great little cottage, well placed for exploring North Norfolk.

It’s a super cottage, both inside and out. We thought it was a great base from which to explore the magnificent countryside- especially the beaches, forests and marshes. There’s a good size garden, which was ideal for our Labrador. We’d definitely stay again. Stephen Manchester

Lovely getaway

We booked this cottage for a birthday break in an area we knew to be lovely, but not in detail. The cottage was perfect for us. Well designed, upgraded and equipped. A generous welcome pack and provision of household essentials let us enjoy our break. There was even a bed and some treats for our dog. It was spotlessly clean on arrival. The location, between Heacham and Hunstanton had good morning walks. Thanks to all concerned. S.

A windy winter weekend!

This cottage was perfect for our family of 4 plus 1 dog. It is beautifully finished, the beds are super comfy and with the log burning stove in the lounge it was really cosy on the winter evenings. The location is great it's just a short drive to some beautiful beaches, pubs, farm shops and stately homes. We will definitely be rebooking and have recommended to friends also.
