About this property

Cape on the Lake: Park-like Setting on Seneca Lake

Escape to the Cape On The Lake! This spacious colonial style house offers a park like setting on the eastern shores of Seneca Lake. Peaceful serenity is abundant from the moment you arrive.

From the parking area to the house; landscaping planted by two generations of family enhances the natural beauty and serenity this family home and Seneca Lake have to offer

Custom French doors lead into an open foyer that overlooks the living room and lakeside deck. Enjoy stunning Seneca Lake views from sun up, until sun down. New living room furniture offers the perfect setting for gathering with friends and family, or curling up with a good book.

The first-floor master bedroom boasts beautiful lake views that shine in through the sliding glass door, and a king size bed. A walk-through closet hosts a jack-and-jill bathroom with tile walls and a shower/tub combo. Continue through the walk-through closet to the second, first floor bedroom with queen size bed and garden view. Enjoy views of the fruit trees and beautiful flower gardens from the tall windows.

The country kitchen is abundant with all your favorite cooking and baking ware. Granite counter tops shine on the custom-built walnut cabinetry. Challenge the chef in your group to prepare a feast adorned with local produce from a roadside stand. Pair your favorite dish with your new favorite Finger Lakes wine, or brew! Chit chat with your cooking buddies while relaxing at the dining room table; all while soaking in the views of Seneca Lake from the large picture window perfectly nestled behind the formal eating space.

An open staircase between the living and dining room leads to the second floor and finished lower level. The second-floor features two bedrooms. Each bedroom is decorated with both comfort and luxury in mind, and offer a pretty lake view with queen size bed.

The lower level offers additional living space set up as if it were an “in-law suite.” A large family room with comfortable furniture and a flat screen TV greet you at the bottom of the stairs. Just off the living area, a cozy bedroom with queen and twin beds nestle into the hillside area of this large home. Completing the lower level, the guest suite features a queen bed, small galley kitchen and recently remodeled full bathroom with shower/tub combo.

Downstairs, a walkout via French doors allows you to escape to the lower patio. Upstairs, the expansive lakeside deck is a focal point of this family home. Sit on the deck and enjoy the exquisite lake views of the sunset each evening. The warm, bright colors will take your breath away as the waves of Seneca Lake crash along the shoreline.

At the shoreline, 130 feet of natural lakefront and a large permanent dock greet you. Place bets to see who can catch the largest fish off the dock, take a kayak out for a paddle, or enjoy sunbathing and splashing along the shore. Adventures are endless when you choose a home as family friendly as this one!

Cape on the Lake is conveniently located close to Geneva, and popular area attractions. Several award-winning wineries are just around the corner! Seneca Lake
We had a wonderful stay at Cape on the Lake. The location was perfect for exploring the Seneca Lake area. This property is owned by a rental group so the typical amenities are missing…soap, shampoo, salt/pepper etc. They do provide a start up supply of toilet paper and trash bags and this is all clearly communicated with you through email. Beautiful property and area. We loved our visit!

Beautiful sunsets, very nice house
Our family of 10 stayed here for a week and the house was great! You can’t beat the nightly sunsets over Seneca Lake with a perfect view from the deck. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, comfortable beds, nice linens, cool AC, and generally a well cared-for home. Two kayaks for use by renters were a great addition. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, pots & pans, etc. but you definitely need to bring your own paper products and cleaning/laundry supplies. Only negative: checkout is 10am which I’ve never experienced at any other rental property or hotel. 11am is standard and would really be a good change so that large families have time to pack up, wash dishes, gather up towels, load up the cars, etc. We were very rushed trying to get out by 10am — and that timing was not published anywhere in the house, nor mentioned in any emails from the property management company. I only found it by going back to the original VRBO listing. Please consider changing checkout to 11am and then the house will be perfect.
