About this property
Druim an Lochain Cottage - farmstay in The Cairngorms
Escape to the charming countryside of the Cairngorms and enjoy a farm holiday with your family.
Immerse yourself in farm life and get close to our Highland Cows, North Country Cheviot sheep and rare breed sheep as well as a stocked Loch. Located near Aviemore, this beautiful retreat can accommodate up to 4 guests.
Situated at the edge of the farm, the cottage is surrounded by woodland with outdoor seating where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
The warm and cosy cottage is decorated in a modern Highland style, reflecting the working farm life, with some nods to the animals kept on the grounds. You'll find a traditional AGA that warms the living and kitchen area. Organic local produce is available to buy from the farm, so you can get a real taste of country living. The whole house is equipped with wireless internet.
Druim an Lochain Cottage offers two bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with a double/twin bed that can be converted into a king-size bed. A sofa bed is also available to accommodate an extra guest, and there's another bathroom.
This lovely cottage is perfect for photography holidays, and farm tours are available. You can also take walks into the pine forests and rural countryside or drive to nearby villages, shops, and restaurants. Mountain bike lovers will be treated to some of the best trails around the Cairngorms National Park.
Children are welcome, and a cot and a high chair are provided. You can even see and pet farm animals upon request. If it is the right time of year, you might even get to pet the lambs.
Well-behaved pets are also welcome. However, dogs must be controlled at all times on the farm.
The property has a step at the entrance way and is a bungalow-style cottage with all rooms on the ground floor.
Close by are the best of local attractions such as Cairngorm Mountain, Highland Wildlife Park, Loch Insh, RSPB Insh Marshes and some fantastic independent shops and cafe's in nearby Kincraig and Kingussie.
With so much to offer, Druim an Lochain is one of the best holiday cottages in the Cairngorms. Showcasing the best of luxury cottages and experiences, a stay here will leave you feeling fulfilled and longing to come back.

Erin
Having worked in tourism for many years, I felt now was the time to give people the sustainable choices that are increasingly important to us all. So using my extensive knowledge of the local market, I have created igloo with Nick. I understand fully the needs of owners and guests, having worked in the industry for a considerable length of time in management roles within rentals, sales and lodge services.
What I love best about the job is the customer satisfaction. Ensuring that everything is as it should be when my guests arrive and that they are kept well informed before, during and after their stay. I love it when people call and you really get a chance to get to know them.
Nick
I have had two passions for as long as I can remember - Travelling and The Highlands.
Growing up here in the Highlands, I have always been passionate about its history, places, people and our world class food & drink. I am particularly fond of our local craft beers!
I love to travel and I've always enjoyed getting off beaten track and experiencing things like a local. There is no better way to do this than self-catering.
Starting igloo with Erin not only allows me to combine these two passions but brings together my design, marketing and management skills built from a varied career across the public and private sector.
