4 bedroom house with large garden in Cairngorms - ideal for families

The house is in a peaceful situation on the southern edge of NethyBridge , with lovely views over the surrounding hills and woods. Built in a traditional style and furnished and fitted in a tasteful contemporary manner the bright sunny rooms are comfortable and welcoming . It has an open plan living area with dining table , and kitchen , adjacent to the bright sunroom at the rear of the house where you can sometimes see deer and other wildlife . There is also a twin , and double bedroom with ensuite shower room , and a bathroom with shower on the ground floor . The utility room and games room are also on the ground floor. On the first floor are large twin and double bedrooms , and a bathrooom with shower . There is a large garden and garden furniture is provided to sit out and enjoy the scenic surroundings. It is ideal for children and there are toys and books in the house . There are views of the Cairngorm mountains and to the rear of the house is the river Nethy and beyond the beautiful Abernethy forest. There are great cycle tracks and walks minutes from the house.
Nethybridge is a charming village in a beautiful setting within the Cairngorm National Park , 12 miles north of Aviemore. It has a grocers shop, and a well stocked butchers/delicatessen . There are 2 hotels and a cafe in the village .
BBCs Winterwatch and Springwatch were recently shot at the Dell of Abernethy , 10 minutes walk from the house. . They also host occasional events and have a drinks and pizza evening once a week in their Teepee most of the year . check out thedellofabernethy.co.uk

What a lovely house! We had a great stay over new year. The house is in a great location for exploring the Cairngorms! The house itself was plenty big enough for 4 adults and 3 children, the games in the garage were an added bonus to keep us all entertained. On our first morning there was a deer on the front garden, we joined in with the village Hogmany torch procession an to end our week we had a lot of snow which was great fun- although we had to push our cars down the road. We would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed sitting in the sun house watching birds on the bird feeder that we purchsed. To encourage the birds into the garden. Also had a badger come at the back of the house late at night. For some nuts and pear which was wonderful to see. We enjoyed two weeks at Nethy Bridge really liked exploring the landscape in the area. Host was good with communication. Negative feedback, better not to use any towels for customers which look old and marked. A fire place tool set would also be helpful. Views to the mountains only from the top landing windows, not from the sun house as described as the trees block the views to the mountains. Would stay again.

Nice house in a great location!

We stayed in Nethy Bridge with our three teen-kids, who enjoyed their private rooms in this very spacy house. Everything was clean, the kitchen is well equipped, and we loved the fireplace. Nice garden with a river directly behind, and we had a good time in the garage with table-tennis, dart and kicker-table! The location in great for exploring the Cairngorms, we would love to come back!

A very comfortable and spacious house which was ideal for our family. Well equipped and the addition of the games room was a bonus. The sun lounge and huge garden gave the feeling of being in a detached house in the countryside, but with the benefit of being in the village. The upstairs bedrooms are huge with plenty of space for quiet moments.

Absolutely brilliant house!

Can’t say enough about how fab this house is. We were 3 generations and it worked brilliantly for everyone. Loads of space, everything you need and more in the kitchen, comfy beds, as everyone else has said the garden is brilliant and I want to take the sunroom home with me. We all spent hours sitting reading in there, looking out for wildlife. Highly recommend (although don’t want too many people to know about it!) and will definitely be back. Thanks Ian!

The property is amazing, really spacious and the huge garden and games in the garage were a huge hit with the kids. Loads of walks from the door and Lochs nearby for water-sports it really is the ideal base for an active, outdoors family. The sunroom was perfect to read and recharge the batteries and the kitchen was really well equipped. Would absolutely recommend.

The house is a family holiday home and we spend time here ourselves every summer and other times when we can enjoy all the Cairngorm National Park has to offer .Over the years many visitors from the UK , Europe and further afield have stayed and enjoyed exploring the Cairngorms .

Why they chose this property

We have holidayed in the area for many years . We love the peaceful surroundings , the village , and the easy access to walks and lots of outdoor sports and beautiful unspoilt countryside. Its a good base to visit the Cairngorm National Park and in and around Aviemore there is lots to do for adults and children . There is clay pigeon shooting , go karting , bicycle hire , quad biking , rafting , and just about every outdoor activity you can imagine , and in winter skiing on CairnGorm or the Lecht , snow permitting ! There are indoor play areas if the weather is not good , the steam train from Aviemore to Boat of Garten and Broomhill is worth a trip and the Landmark Centre in Carrbridge which has a water slide and other attractions is also great for children . At Loch Morlich there is a beautiful sandy beach and lots of watersports with canoes etc for hire. There are tennis courts and a golf course in the village and within a short drive lots of other golf courses , Loch Garten and the osprey centre . There are lots of beatiful walks too.

What makes this property unique

Its very peaceful and the fresh air and the views of stars on a clear night are wonderful especially when you live most of the year in a city. There are fantastic views of forests and mountains and the weather rolling by , from the sunroom. There is a large garden which is great for children , and there is a river at the bottom of the garden - over a stile , where you can light a bonfire and skim stones on a summer evening . From the house it takes a few minutes to walk , or bike into the Abernethy forest and there are miles of fantastic trails .
