we loved this place, had plenty of room (2 people), beds were comfy, kitchen has anything you need, bathroom was clean an the shower worked very well. Our Host was very nice and very fast with answering. We had a great time there

Right Place near by paradise

It was our first stay in Vueltas and we must say, Ascanova is the right place to feel the authentic athmosphere from La Gomera. The owner Celia is very nice and helpful. We hadn't any problems, only the kitchen was a little bit getting use to. But you can have breakfast on the fantastic patio and in the neighborhood are a lot of good and nice restaurants. You have only to ask Celia. Positive is also, that you can reach everything by feed. Even our daughter had nothing to complain about and that's saying all. That's the greatest compliment. We will come back!

Spacious apartment, kitchen a nightmare, disingenuous listing.

The apartment is spacious, the lounge is of a useful size, the roof terrace is spacious, private and has sunshine for most of the day. In the language favoured by estate agents it is "quirky". Sometimes this is a good thing, it makes for an interesting property. In this case, the layout was certainly interesting but the kitchen appears to have been designed, if there was any design, to encourage trade for the local physiotherapists. Top tip: pack a crash helmet or two, because the low-level surround over the cooker presents an ever-present danger of a rather nasty head injury.The listing information is, to be frank, dishonest. There is not a second bathroom and the apartment lacks the additional bedroom that was listed. Also, as a native speaker of English, my understanding of the word "grounds" when applied to a property is the land that resides within the boundaries of the property. And the photo displayed of a local beauty spot does give the impression that this is part of the garden. It is not. Other grumbles: the hot water kettle was more-or-less useless (I reported this to Celia, but nothing was done about it). There is a leak from a water tank on the roof that drips onto a live electrical connection box and one of the seats on the roof terrace is not only damaged but has a number of rusty screws poking up ready to ensnare a hand, or thigh (it did and I still have the cut two weeks later).However, the location is very good and the place is clean.

Tolle Lage, aber alt und viele Treppen

Wir waren zu dritt 5 Tage in der Unterkunft. Anders als beschrieben gab es kein zweites Bad. Die Unterkunft selbst liegt oberhalb zweier Appartements, die ebenfalls zu "Askanova" zählen, und geht über zwei Etagen: Im 1. Obergeschoss Küche, Wohnzimmer und 1 Schlafzimmer - dieses hat kein Fenster. Vor der Wohnung das moderne und angenehme Badezimmer (Dusche, Toilette, Bidet - Licht über dem Spiegel funktionierte nicht). Türen sind alles einfachste Holztüren, Schlösser funktionieren nicht (mit Ausnahme des Zugangs zur Haustreppe). Küche ist ohne Fenster und sehr unpraktisch, da die alten unbrauchbaren Feuerstellen sehr viel Platz wegnehmen und man/frau sich dauernd an der Esse den Kopf stößt. Im 2. Obergeschoss dann ein weiteres Schlafzimmer als Durchgangszimmer ohne Fenster zu einer Kammer mit einer Liege. Vor dem Schlafzimmer geht es drei große Stufen hoch zur wirklich sehr schönen Terasse. Hier den Tisch zu decken ist schon aufwändig! Die Fotos sind zwar nicht falsch, geben aber doch einen sehr geschönten Eindruck. Anders als angebeten gibt es zu dieser Wohnung KEIN zweites Badezimmer. Nett war die gefüllte Obstschale. Auch war noch von den Gästen davon sehr viel an Gewürzen usw. übrig. Die Wohnung ist alt und rustikal - Lage und Blick von der Terasse große Klasse. Auch waren die Informationen zu Restaurants usw. sehr hilfreich.

Charme und Gemütlichkeit

Wir haben eine Woche in casa Askanova verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet und liegt ganz günstig im charmanten Ort La Calera, der trotz seiner touristischen Lage (das Meer ist in nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar) sein authentisches Flair behalten hat. Auf der großen Terrasse kann man wunderbar essen und die schöne Landschaft genießen. Wer die unberührte Natur von La Gomera entdecken möchte, kann direkt vom Haus loswandern. Die Besitzerin Celia ist sehr nett und hilfreich, so dass wir das Haus nur weiterempfehlen können!

Très bon séjour

Très bon séjour passé à la casa Askanova ! Celia, la propriétaire, est très gentillle, accueillante et arrangeante. Nous avons beaucoup communiqué avec elle avant notre arrivée. Le gite est très bien, propre, typique, au calme du village de la Calera à Valle Gran Rey. Valle Gran Rey est un point de base interessant pour découvrir l'île car il fait plus beau et plus chaud que sur la cote Nord (important au printemps). Très agréable de se baigner au soleil après une rando ! Propriétaires de gîtes dans le Golfe du Morbihan, en France, nous avons déjà invité Celia et sa famille, a venir dans notre gite au bord de la mer : http://www.lamaisondepecheur.com ! Famille LEVREL

Hola querido Celia y Christopher, gracias cordiales para el tiempo fantástico en vuestra casa maravillosa, "el corazón de Calera". Lo hemos tenido bien bien bien, Wifi, el box de llave que el lujo insignificante "una presión hidráulica fuerte" - esto no ha traído bien la diversión - la terraza de techo superhermosa, la mirada al mar, en Vueltas, en la montaña - magníficamente, el sol, el clima, Supermercado pequeño con los poseedores encantadores y naturalmente anciano Suso grandioso y encantador de quien en su restaurante maravilloso el Mirador muy excelentemente de modo cocinado y nos hacíamos mimado. Con mucho gusto venimos de nuevo. Queridos saludos, Rosita
