## Neighborhood
The apartment is located in the touristic but quiet Porto de Mos area of Lagos, right behind Porto de Mos beach. You will have your toes in the sand within 5 minutes walking from the apartment. There are some small (food) shops and a great choice of restaurants in the residential area behind. You will also find 2 restaurants directly on the beach.
The famous cliffs of Lagos (incl Ponte da Piedade) are literally around the corner of your apartment and can easily be reached by foot. Lagos downtown can be reached by foot but for those who want to avoid the steep hills, it is also very easy to go by car or bus.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
## Transit
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours.
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier. You can park for free on and around the park.

The condo was in a perfect location. We were able to take the trails out back and walk down to Porto De Mos, or had I been in better shape we could have walked to Luz. Goid value for the cost.

The apartment itself is very nice. The location is perfect, just 4 minute walk to porto mos beach and just 200 Meter to a very nice cliff walk.
The apartment is modern furnished but the furnishment ist very used, especially the couch, carpet and the kitchen. Some drawers were broked, but it would be easy to fix.
The floor was not very clean, but the rest was fine.
So overall we spend 5 weeks during winter there. It war very quite, the Wifi was very good. So we can recommend it!!!
My husband and I, and another couple stayed for a week in April. The apartment is a listed. It is convenient if you would like to be able to walk to the beach or along the trails above the beach.We were able to cook in for the evening meal when we chose.The bathroom sink drains were very slow to drain, so may require some attention sooner than later.The phone support was good when we had difficulty physically locating the correct block due to the numbering being on a side of the building not facing the street. And again when the WiFi network was different from the posted one.One small detail, but the wine glasses, while plentiful, were far too small :)Thanks!
We had an excellent 55 night stay during winter at the well equipped Santa Maria Apt. Located in a peaceful and quiet complex only a 10 minute walk down to Porto de Mos beach. Next to the complex are breathtaking hiking trails on the cliffs that lead to wonderful scenic viewpoints. Very easy to catch an Uber/Bolt for grocery shopping (no local market) and there is a bus stop at the beach which takes you to the Promenade area of Lagos. The apt. was very good for online work with a fast and reliable 216 Mbps fiber optic internet connection. Local 5G (NOS) speeds on our phones were 250-300 Mbps. Self check-in was very easy with a lock-box and a helpful pdf online guide provided by Rental Valley. The apt. was mostly clean upon check-in. Though, we thought the provided bed linens and blankets were inadequate for a long-stay in winter. Overall, we had a very good stay at the apartment and may consider returning in the future.
