About this property

Villa with heated pool and stunning views in Salernes, Provence near Cotignac

This beautiful Provencal villa was built in 2008 to very high standards with wonderful views, a completely fenced garden of a good size and a heated swimming pool 12 m x 4m. The house sleeps 8 in four bedrooms with three bath/shower rooms on two levels. It is 2kms from the centre of Salernes.
Salernes has a Provencal market each Wednesday and Sunday, many small shops, bakeries and restaurants as well as 3 reasonably sized supermarkets. Lorgues, Cotignac, Aups. Villecroze,Tourtour and Entrecasteux are all close by and are interesting places to visit.
The house is tastefully furnished with both antique and modern and the house is full of interesting items from all over the world.

Accommodation
From the front door you enter a hallway which leads to the right to the sitting room, dining area and kitchen, all open plan, and the upstairs bedrooms or to the left, to two downstairs double bedrooms both with ‘en suite’ bathrooms.

Bedroom 1 has French windows to the garden, lovely viewsand and an ensuite shower room with massage shower. Bedroom 2 has a window onto the front garden of the house , two single beds which can be configured to make a King size double bed and the ensuite has a bath with shower.
There also is a separate downstairs WC room.

The sitting room is large and has a woodburning stove, two sofas and a rocking chair. There is a large flat screen TV for DVD’s only, a CD player and wifi. There are two French windows to the south facing terrace. The kitchen is well designed with a breakfast bar and four bar stools. It is very suitable for entertaining as it has two ovens, a gas hob and a ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave and all the cooking utensils imaginable. There is a door to the south facing terrace which has tables and chairs. The dining area is next to the kitchen and has a large table and eight dining room chairs. There is a utility room with a large fridge freezer and washing machine and a drying racks.

Upstairs there are two more bedrooms, one south facing with a window overlooking the pool and the view, this has a double bed. The other bedroom has a window looking over the front of the house and has twin beds. There is a shower room on this floor and a separate WC. This means that there is plenty of privacy for those upstairs as well as those downstairs as the bedroom areas are at opposing ends of the house.

Outside
The house has electric gates for security and plenty of parking in the front. From the side door of the utility room is a BBQ, and on the south side there are two terraces one covered with a large table and chairs for eight and an open terrace also south facing with another table with four chairs. In front of the terrace is a grassy area and a slope to a lower level where the heated pool is situated. The pool is 12 x 4 ms and a depth of 180cms with a shallow area for toddlers or just lying around. There is a security cover which is motorised and is good for keeping the heat in overnight, and the leaves out. The garden is completely fenced and has plenty of grassy area for playing and there are wonderful views over the countryside.

As we are a relativly new listing with Vrbo we have few Vrbo guest comments as yet.
Here are a few comments made by other guests in the last years:-

"What a lovely villa. So well equipped and easy to live in with the whole family. Beautiful pool and outside spaces. Will certainly come again."

"We have picked the figs from your tree and eaten the warm sweet grapes from your vines. Swam in the sublime pool and enjoyed lazy days and late nights eating outside. A true Provencal life style. AMAZING."

"We spent a week at this absolutely lovely property with our adult children to celebrate my 60th birthday. It had everything you could possibly want. Because of its lay out there is a lot of space and one is not on top of each other, even with a group of 8. There are many places to visit, lovely markets and restaurants all nearby. Great walks, you are in the country with lovely views on to a vineyard but yet not isolated. The fact that the pool is heated meant that we could swim even at this time of the year (May), which makes it a great place to stay out of season as well. The villa is well maintained and absolutely spotless. Thank you dear owners for letting us stay at your ‘little’ paradise. Definitely hope to come back."

"4 weeks here was as wonderful as the last times.
4th time…..this is becoming an addiction!!"

"Actually, I would like to leave a very bad review here, because I hope that not too many people discover this perfect house...Everything is great: location is a beautiful region with nice villages and beautiful nature, on the edge of the town of Salernes where summer is a lot of fun activity. The facilities of the house are also top notch: four good bedrooms, three bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful outdoor area, great swimming pool. All this with an unobstructed view over vineyards and hills and in the evening only the sound of crickets. We will definitely come back!"

Perfection
Limani is absolute perfection, both inside and out, and is a credit to the owners. Inside it was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor seating and dining areas are ideal for enjoying the tranquility of the beautiful setting. The fabulous pool is the icing on the cake and is perfect for cooling off in the warm weather. There is nothing we could suggest as an improvement, and we were all very sorry to leave after a fantastic 2 weeks.

This property was absolutely gorgeous. It was spotlessly clean when we walked in and even better than the photos online. We took two dogs with us and was relieved that the property was totally enclosed all the way around. It was like home from home with everything you could possibly need and more. With stunning views and the peace and quiet it was exactly what we were looking for. A short drive would take you into Salernes where there were cafes, a few shops and a good choice of supermarkets. The markets in the nearby towns were well worth a visit selling mainly fruit, veg, jewellery and clothes. Overall this was a wonderful place for a holiday and we would very much like to return in the future.

Even better than the photos
We (5 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs) have just spent a wonderful two weeks at Limani. It’s the best holiday house we’ve ever stayed in and the pool and views are perfect :)

Prachtig verblijf
We waren aangenaam verrast, de woning heeft alles wat we verwachten, alles aanwezig in de keuken, en als kers op de taart, een zwembad waar we met de warmte, natuurlijk van hebben genoten. Alles heel proper , echt een aanrader!!!

About the host

Hosted by Kerr Whiteford

Host profile image
We are a British couple who have been based in Southern France for over 30 years.
We were lucky enough to spend much of our working lives as professional yacht crew.
Our worldwide travels and our characters are reflected both inside and outside "Limani".
We still enjoy sailing in the summer months and when at home we love to enjoy the wonderful countryside in this region by jumping on our bikes or going for a hike.

Why they chose this property

Previously we lived in a small village house close to St. Tropez.
As that area got more developed and busier, even during the winter months, we decided to move further inland.
When we first saw this site is was still part of a vineyard but we both immediately felt blown away by the views, even in the middle of the winter.
We were involved in both the design and construction of the house.
From the outset having been involved in hospitality in our working lives we designed the property with the holiday rental market in mind. There is adequate space for guests to both be together or to find a quiet, secluded area if they so wish.
We find that the pace of life is much more relaxed here than it was on the coast and also the locals are much friendlier and more helpful.

What makes this property unique

The views are still, to us, one of the most endearing features of "Limani", even people who live locally are taken aback when they step out onto the terrace.
Whilst you spend time in the pool you it feels as if you are totally immersed in the countryside.
There are various seperate entertaining areas in the garden, including a shaded table outside the kitchen and another table, shaded by a tree, close to the bbq.
The way the bedrooms are arranged means that two families are able to holiday together but still have their own spaces.
As this is our home and Chrissy has cooked professionally for most of her working life the kitchen is very well laid out and much better equipped than you might expect to find in a rental property.
