This home is gorgeously remodeled yet retains historic Victorian charm with unique spaces full of character and grace.

Guests must be comfortable with operating the pellet stove including lifting and pouring pellets into the stove top and climbing stairs.

We had a wonderful experience at the painted lady. The location was great for accessing Olympic National Park and Victoria BC. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The hot tub and views were spectacular. We would recommend the property for anyone interested in enjoying the Olympic peninsula.

Mindfulness couples retreat with day excursions.

Was the perfect retreat space to settle in and do some inner work and have plenty of romance. Day excursions into the park and to the spit were very easeful. With a great soak in the hot-tub to round out each day.

We had a great stay. The kitchen had everything we needed and beds were comfortable. Everything was labeled so it was easy to find what we needed. Good instructions for the various ways to heat the house too. The house and the way it is decorated have a lot of character. Great for our girls weekend.

What a GREAT place! Everything was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. The views were amazing, instructions very clear, communication with the host fantastic, and the location was perfect. Port Angeles has lots to offer and everything we needed seemed to be no more than a 4-minute drive away. The outside space was amazing and the inside had every single thing we needed for cooking and laundry. Excellent place to stage a hiking trip into Olympic and the hot tub after a long day was clean, new, and worked flawlessly. I'm always grateful to hosts that really pay attention to detail, and this place is now at the top of my list. Thanks for making our stay great!

We stayed here for a week for a work conference nearby. The house itself was lovely and cozy. We enjoyed the location, the neighborhood, the view and the hot tub. The host responded quickly. Check in was easy.Cons: terrible quality cookware, sheets and towels. Every pot and pan was teflon. The sheets were cheap polyester and sparked like fireworks with static electricity getting in and out of bed. Towels were cheap. The house had so much charm but it was clearly stocked with Amazon’s cheapest stuff. The check out process is pretty ridiculous, requiring guests to clean the whole house, which we did. We spent 3 hours as a group on our last morning fulfilling every item in the hosts list and now they are withholding our security deposit, saying it’s not clean enough. There’s no way that’s true. Charming house but overall not very hospitable, if you’re looking for a place to actually cook meals in the kitchen, not be stuck with maid duties on the last day, and risk not getting your deposit back.

We've been hosting for 10 years and have never had guests like this. They insisted on bringing their own pots and pans and scratched our glass stovetop (we have pictures) this is the reason for withholding the damage deposit. We have had nearly 400 guests in our house with 5 out of 5 star reviews. In addition I'm not sure what clean means to this guest but it appeared there was a food fight in the kitchen and dining room which took over three times the normal time to clean up.

Excellent Stay!

Perfect place to stay with our adult children. Beds were very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything that you might need other than the usual things you bring yourself. Better stocked with things like sugar, umbrellas and nice toiletries than any other place we've stayed. The location of things was nicely labelled. We liked the self check in and the yummy goodies waiting for us as well.

Perfect for a family getaway!

This home had everything that anyone would need for a home away from home. Waking up to the sunrise and our evenings with the sunsets!! So much to see and do in the area. The weather was perfect for hiking the trails in Olympic. It was great to have a hot tub to come back to soak in after hiking. Thank you for making this a great getaway for our family! Great place to stay in Port Angeles

This home is a great place to stay while visiting the Olympic Peninsula because of its great location, within a reasonable drive of all the places we were interested in. The house itself is very spacious and comfortable — it is well supplied with all the essentials, plus a nice backyard patio and great view of the mountains! Our group of 6 stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed having this “home base” for our vacation. The nice kitchen made it easy to cook and eat in several nights (there is a supermarket conveniently close by), and there were also some good options for eating out — H2O and Kokopelli were both great!

Hobbies include mural painting, photography, travel and archaeology. We are a semi-retired married couple and love hosting taking great pride in offering the highest service and caring interactions with our guests. We want you feel like the Victorian Retreat is YOUR second home.

Why they chose this property

The Victorian Retreat is located in “Harbor View”, an older residential neighborhood near the bluff with views of Canada. High end restaurants, kid-friendly parks and coffee expresso shops are walking distance to the house.

Ideally located near the bluff makes for enjoyable morning and evening quiet walks around the neighborhood with views of the Juan De Fuca waters, Canada, Victoria BC and San Juan Islands in the distance. The night stars are gorgeous and very visible in this neighborhood.

Favorite restaurants and 'things to do guide book' is available at the house along with hiking books.

What makes this property unique

We added an LED Happy Light therapy lamp as well as providing masks and hand sanitizer. Also available is a Bissell air320 Smart Air Purifier with HEPA and Carbon Filters plus our licensed professional cleaners use enhanced cleaning protocols.
