Dragon Nest - self-contained studio loft apartment
Our open plan, spacious studio apartment is perfect for a romantic weekend away, a family holiday, or a retreat space for one, and sleeps up to 4 people (2 adults & 2 children). Dragon Nest is a quirky blend of both modern and traditional styles - fully furnished with a brand-new kitchen and elegantly designed bathroom, towels, cosy sheets and farmhouse furniture.
With spectacular views over the orchard through the velux windows, and across the ponds to the Malvern Hills from the kitchen, you feel an expansiveness above everything and yet warmly contained by the apex ceiling and soft wood floors. Whether you are coming for a short break or a longer stay, Dragon Nest has everything you need to rest and relax after a day immersed in the beauty of the orchard and the surrounding area. Immerse yourself in nature and slow down to a gentler pace of life when you join us at Dragon Orchard Retreat. Cared for by the Stanier family for over 100 years, our idyllic 22-acre orchard lies in the beautiful, rural county of Herefordshire.
Whether you stay in one of our bespoke, hand-crafted yurts or Dragon Nest, our spacious, self-catered studio apartment, you will find intangible magic in our orchard that will weave through your time here, and leave you feeling more grounded, energised and alive.
We have specifically designed our self-contained accommodation to ensure that you have plenty of space and your own private environment during your stay at Dragon Orchard. With cosy beds and private washing and cooking facilities for all living spaces, we provide the comfort you need for retiring after a day in the orchard, or exploring the area.
Our focus is the creation of a space for people to detach from the hectic pace of modern life, and connect to nature - a 'Dragon Retreat'. We appreciate that the life we lead here, surrounded by trees and immersed in the natural cycle of the seasons, keeps us well in both body and mind - vibrant and energised.
We wish to share our connection to the land with you, and hope that you find as much serenity, wellness and vitality here as we do.

Lovely, peaceful stay!
It's our second time staying in the Dragon Nest , and we loved it just as much as the first. It has all the amenities we needed and we enjoyed the light airy space and peaceful surroundings.

Great location, excellent accommodation, extremely helpful owners.
We liked the quiet situation, Norman and Annie were friendly and helpful. We were able to walk around the lovely orchard, see the pigs, explore the area around the yurt and the outdoor arena! We enjoyed the apple juice and home produced preserves left in the flat, purchased chili jam and medlar jelly from the honesty shop to try at home

A wonderful weekend autumnal stay in Dragon’s Nest flat for a Big Apple weekend.
Warm and inviting but plenty of space and light, this accommodation at Dragon Orchard is a great location to enjoy all the weekend activities or general sightseeing and walking. There is everything you need for a comfortable self-catered stay in the flat. The trees were laden and autumn colours appearing during this stay but a beautiful setting any time of year. Thank you Ann and Norman.

A beautiful and peaceful place, tucked into the English countryside, with very friendly hosts.
We stayed at the Dragon Nest, a very comfortable studio apartment with everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The hosts were very welcoming, and I just wish we had even more time to walk around and get to know the area.

Peaceful Retreat
I stayed with Dragon Orchard because I was taking a course that was held in the Orchard.
The accommodation was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The one thing I enjoyed the most from the stay was no TV. The Orchard has its own jams and juices for sale, we had a bottle of apple juice in the room which was delicious. Close to Ledbury where we had a lovely meal on our first night. We took a drive to Puzzle wood and the to the sculpture trail on our second day. A short 40 mins drive away.On our final day we drove to the Malvern Hills 15mins drive and had a fantastic walk. All in all a great weekend away. When we are back in the area and looking for somewhere to stay this will be the first place we will check.A big thank-you to the hosts Ann and Norman.short 40mimw drive fro
Our family have tended this very special patch of Herefordshire countryside for over a century. From yeoman beginnings as a small 22-acre fruit farm, our offerings have evolved and expanded as each new generation has taken up the mantle as custodians of this land.
Since 2000, we have been welcoming people to join us at Dragon Orchard for walks and talks, art, music and food events, and many other celebratory occasions. We have cultivated a particular interest in sharing our space, its produce and our connection to local community with other people.
Since 2021, we have opened our space for people to retreat to. We offer back-to-nature, self-catered holiday stays in our unique, hand-crafted yurts or our newly renovated studio apartment. We also host community festivals, organise annual gatherings and invite others to join the various retreats and workshops held with us throughout the year.
