A cosy lakeside cottage with plenty of character nestled in Cornwall’s hidden corner; the Rame Peninsula.
Found in the heart of Millbrook, the house is just metres away from the village’s focal point; a beautiful lake which connects to the Tamar Estuary.
Short walking distance to the local pub, cafes, shops, play park, skate park and tennis courts, a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach and an 8 minute drive to the popular wedding venue, Polhawn Fort.
The house:
Guests have free run of the whole house. There are three bedrooms, two double with super comfy kingsize beds and a single with an equally comfy bed.
In the large living room there is a log burner, comfortable furniture and blankets to relax and get cosy. We’ll leave you with a couple of logs for your first night, and during the winter months it’s possible to buy more logs from the local newsagents. In the big wooden chest in the corner of the living room, you will find lots of board games and on the bookshelf behind the sofa you will find local maps and books that we thought might be of interest to guests. Please read, make use and enjoy these during your stay.
The main bathroom that has a bath and shower is upstairs with the bedrooms and there is a small toilet downstairs in the porch.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the equipment you need to be able to prepare and cook your meals.
Outside on the lake and car park side is a small, reasonably private patio area with a BBQ. The sun sets on this side of the house, however the patio doesn’t tend to catch the sunshine in the evening so there is also a picnic bench that belongs to the cottage right in the front. The other side of the house backs onto a single lane road. The road is not too busy.
The kitchen has a lovely view of the lake and it’s resident ducks who seem to have taken over the car park area.
Sustainability is extremely important to us and has been considered as much as possible throughout the property.
We do welcome young children, however the house isn’t best set up for them in the sense that we don’t have any of the required equipment and the staircase is quite steep. We do have 2 stair-gates, but you will need to bring everything else. If you have any questions about this please reach out to me.
