Beautiful, romantic 4* cottage in rural setting with Country Club membership.
Tikkidew Cottage is designed for couples to escape to a comfortable hideaway. As the photos show, Tikkidew is a beautiful old stone cottage, converted from a seed barn. It is a spacious & romantic retreat for those seeking peace & privacy. With a fully equipped modern kitchen and a spacious lounge with leather suite, Tikkidew is a real 'home from home'. The cottage is centrally heated and has double glazing throughout, plus a log burner fire in the lounge for those cosy evenings. The bedroom is situated in a galleried, upstairs area with a superking size bed (or 2 single beds) which overlooks the lounge. There is free internet throughout the property.
Outside, Tikkidew has a private back yard, a secluded front garden, sun loungers, a BBQ & eating area and off road parking.
Located on the edge of the beautiful Tamar Valley National Landscape, Rowse Farm is a 17th century ‘Grade II’ listed farmhouse set in 40 peaceful acres of pasture, woodland & streams, with 3 holiday cottages. The Weary Friar pub is a short walk away and serves lovely pub food. There are many other local places to eat just a short drive away. Also within striking distance of Rowse are some of the West Country's best attractions - the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Maritime Museum, the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, beaches on both North & South coasts of Cornwall, Bodmin Moor & Dartmoor, the National Trust houses at Cotehele, Antony, Saltram & Lanhydrock. The historic coastal villages of Looe & Polperro are also nearby. There are too many local walks to list here, but a few of our favourites are parts of the new Tamar Way, along the South West Coastal path from Rame Head to Cawsand and the beautiful National Trust's Lansallos Cove, which is dog friendly all year round.
Cornwall's rugged coastline and quaint villages are the backdrop for many Films, TV series and books. Take time out to explore the literary world of Rosamunde Pilcher, shooting locations for Poldark, Doc Martin and Beyond Paradise, to name a few.

My wife & I stayed in Tikkidew cottage for 4 night's. We received a warm welcome from Barry & Kirsty, with lots of helpful recommendations about the local area. The cottage was quiet, spotless and extremely comfortable.
We will definitely return!
We had a 4 day break in an immaculate cottage. Their facilities catered for our every need and exceeded our expectations. Kirsty and Barry were a delight and we can’t recommend them high enough. Really hope we can return soon.

We stayed for 10 days in this cottage and it was really wonderful. It is a very cosy place, absolutely clean and well maintained. It has a lovely terrace with 2 sun chairs. The location near Pillaton is absolutely quiet and ideal for relaxing. Our hosts Barry and Kirsty where already awaiting us when we arrived, and we directly felt like being at home. They where both so kind to us, gave us good tips for our tours in Cornwall and where always present when needed.During our stay, we explored Cornwall with some nice walks along the coastal footpath, with some lovely villages (Fowey, Looe, Polperro), beaches (Whitsand Bay) and castles (S. Michaels Mount, Tintagel Castle)Its an absolute recommendation for everyone interested in visiting Cornwall.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for your review and thanks for leaving the cottage in such a clean and tidy state. We hope that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again in the future. Kind regards Barry & Kirsty
We had a brilliant time having never been in this area of Cornwall before. The place was so clean, easy to find with terrific facilities and set in a beautiful landscape - really everything you need. Nothing was too much trouble for Barry and Kirsty who were very responsive any time before and during the stay. That said, we had our privacy and felt as though we were in our own little idyll away from everything. The hosts sent really comprehensive information and made recommendations for places to eat and local walks. We tried some of them and were always pleased that we had. Highly recommend and we will be visiting again.

Hi Dave,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a great review - we are so please you enjoyed your stay and really hope to see you and Nadeen again some day.
Kind wishes, Barry & Kirsty.
We loved the feel of the area driving there and with great private parking it was easy access from the car to the cottage and we were set up in minutes of arriving.
It was a great place for traveling around both Cornwall and Devon and there are plenty of supermarkets to choose from nearby with some lovely pubs and restaurants. All in all we loved it and would definitely book again.
A wonderful place to stay. A marvelous job has been done converting an old building into a modern living place. Back a one lane road, it is quiet and peaceful. Our hosts were extremely helpful.
Really enjoyed staying at this beautiful cottage. Scrupulously clean and comfortable. With seating both Infront and behind the cottage, we spent much time outside enjoying the relaxing countryside and wildlife. Wonderful host. Only slight downside was although the shower worked well, I found it a little tricky to get into. Would definitely return here.
We had a wonderful stay. Barry and Kirstey we perfect hosts. Always helpful and attentive to our needs. The cottage is beautifully furnished set in a wonderful location. It was spotlessly clean on arrival. Clean tea was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend. Rich and Kim
We loved our short stay so much we are booked for September !
The cottage was clean, cosy and welcoming. It was idyllic and lovely to just chill and switch off
Barry and Kirsty and Peanut are just the best hosts - so friendly and chatty - nothing was too much and everything had been thought of - would definitely recommend again as a wonderful place to stay . See you again in September ! Thank you
Amazing facilities and lovely friendly hosts!
A stunning location with great recommendations.
Will definitely be going back and recommending to family and friends!
We had a fantastic week on Rowse farm in Tikkidew cottage. Our hosts Barry and Kirsty were friendly and helpful giving advice on places to see and also eat. The cottage was spotlessly clean and looked as if it hadn't been let before. The surroundings are wonderful and there is the opportunity to walk round the fields (which were filled with wild flowers) and woods. The cottage is in a superb hidden location with easy access to both the coast and moorlands. Thoroughly recommended.
Was a brilliant place to stay, very nice cottage, very nice and welcoming people! The cottage is quite remote but at the same time Everything is within about 20-30 minutes of the cottage which is ideal, the beach is about 25 minutes away, Plymouth is about 30 minutes away. I’d happy go back! Loverly cottage with a log burner
Great place to access the south coast and the Tamar Valley. Really quiet and peaceful setting
We stayed in Tikkidew. Lovely cosy one bedroom cottage with a fire. Barry and Kirsty are really friendly and welcoming - on hand if you need them in the farmhouse. The cottage is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and they even provided a Covid pack with sanitiser etc. We will come back as it’s perfect for a quiet few days with good local walks.

Great to meet you both and glad your stay in the cottage was a success! You're both very welcome to come back any time - thanks for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy :-)
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and extremley clean..views were amazing... its a great base to explore any parts of Cornwall.. kirsty and Barry are perfect hosts, very friendly with lots of tips for places to see and places to eat... we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again ..
The property is beautiful in a rural setting so quiet and peaceful and only 10 mins from the local town Saltash.
The property has everything you will need, the couple Barry and Kirsty are warm and welcoming nothing too much trouble and they make sure the property is spotless If anybody has any COVID concerns.
The local pub the Weary Fryer is 10 min walk and serves great food make sure you book in advance during COVID even for a drink, we found this with most pubs and restaurants during our stay. Saltash train station is great if you fancy a day off from driving we went to St Ives it cost £21 return for both of us and you get great views of the coast. Would recommend Rowse Farm without hesitation lovely relaxing stay even in these challenging times.
Tranquility but a stone's throw from Plymouth and beaches
Great location, wonderful hosts who could not do enough to make us feel welcome. Really well furnished throughout. We had issues with the WiFi, which Barry worked hard to resolve.
We'd arranged to take two bicycles with us and asked if there was somewhere to store them. I was really pleased to find that the storage was in a farm building that gave great protection from the weather.

About the host
Hosted by Barry & Kirsty
After meeting on the "Clipper Round The World Yacht Race", and previously spending many years living in the busy streets of London and York, we decided to move to the relaxing West Country to enjoy a better lifestyle. After much research, we bought Rowse - a 400 year old farmhouse & estate. The previous owners had worked hard to restore it and it is now a beautiful home for us & our guests to enjoy. We have continued to improve the cottages and we are passionate about providing luxurious accommodation, to a high standard and with a homely feel that we ourselves would be happy to stay in. We have a number of guests who return to stay with us each year and we take great pride in welcoming both old and new guests to share in the beauty here at Rowse. We love to explore the local area and find new walks (both dog and non-dog friendly!), new pubs and cafés and new places to eat that we can then share with our guests. We thoroughly enjoy living in this special part of the country and we look forward to sharing it with our guests.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Rowse because of its secluded, peaceful location & its beautiful 40 acres of woods, pasture, streams & gardens. Often referred to as the "Forgotten Corner" South East Cornwall is one of Cornwall's best kept secrets. The stunning Rame Peninsula, the Tamar Valley, Bodmin and Dartmoor moors are all within easy reach, not to mention the historic Plymouth waterfront, the Hoe and narrow streets of the Barbican. We enjoy dog walking around Rowse and often take the short drive to Downderry Beach or Tregantle Beach in Whitsand Bay, which are dog friendly all year round. Siblyback Lake up on Bodmin moor isn't too far away and the yummy Olive & Co café there is a real treat! We are confident that you will enjoy your stay at Rowse Farm and all the West Country has to offer!
What makes this property unique
Rowse Farm is surrounded by beautiful, peaceful countryside, ideal for exploring by foot or just kicking back and relaxing in the cottage gardens. Main road routes are only a short drive away, so a day out to the beaches at Seaton, Downderry and Whitsand Bay or trips to Cotehele House, Pentillie Castle, Lanhydrock and the Eden Project are all within easy reach. Rowse really does offer the best of both worlds - tranquility in and around the cottage, or the more populated beaches and visitor attractions. Lots of our guests enjoy a few days out and about and then balance it with a few days chilling out and enjoying the wildlife and seclusion that Rowse has to offer.
