About this property

family run holiday cottage, family and pet friendly, free off road parking

My cottage really is a home from home nestled in the centre of Snainton Village nestled beliw the North YorkshireMoors. There is room for four people to sleep plus one child under the age of 2 years ( travel cot). Dog friendly with off street parking
First built in 1751 and renovated 26 years ago the cottage is full of character and quirks and is truly beautiful. Low original beams, log burner and furniture to snuggle into. The cottage is fully equipped and has had a full makeover for the holiday season. There is a seperate kitchen diner so you don't have to endure food smells whilst relaxing with your wine on the plush sofa. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and twin beds in the second bedroom. There is use of a travel cot also for a child under 2 years old.
Hot water on demand, Gas cooker, microwave, coffee maker I think you will have every thing you need.
Stunning walks and scenery are minutes away as we are located in the Vale of Pickering. Dalby Forrest is a heartbeat away and talking of heartbeats and Harry Potter Goathland is approximately 25 minute drive. Whitby with its James Cook connections, Robin Hoods Bay with its tales of pirates and smugglers, the hidden gem of Sleights are approximately 30 minutes drive over the stunning North Yorkshire Moorside.
Who could leave out Pickering and Thornton Le Dale with the famous Bangers and Cash and vintage steam railway. York is a 40 minute drive with it heritage and national railway museum. of course for Harry Potter fans the original 93/4 platform is situated in the beautiful Railway station.
Two pubs in easy waking distance from the cottage. one serves delicious food with Turkish speciality food also on offer. Snainton offers a high quality fish and chip shop with a local grocer store and a butchers. Its 5 miles to a local Spar where you can gather more food and petrol. There is a children's park just down the road, great for picnics, the bus stop is a minutes walks away easy to access Scarborough York and villages like Thornton Dale, Pickering Helmsley.
Just a short drive down is another children's play park that also has a tennis court you can use for free!
Two well behaved dog are welcome, any more is via negotiations with the host and at extra charge. with regards to XLBully types they must be accompanied by their registration documents, be leashed and muzzled when out side of the property.
Please also note to bring your own towels as we do not supply them.
There will be a welcome hamper on arrival and also tea, coffee, sugar and milk to get you started. The log burner will be made up and ready to go with the first batch of complimentary logs for people staying for more than one night. Further log/firelighters and stick bundle can be purchased on site from myself, other wise the Spar shop is a 5 mile drive and you can buy these items there.
We are a family run business and as such we can support you in having the best holiday !
Any questions just ask
Sadly we do not have a EV port so electric vehicles cannot be charged at the property.
Please note dogs are charged per visit at £20.00. payment will be asked for at check in if your pups are not on the guest list.
look forward to meeting you Lou

Perfect
Lou extended a warm welcome to us (four friends) on our arrival. This cottage is a little gem! Downstairs, it has a cosy lounge complete with log burner, a well equipped kitchen-diner, and a spacious entrance hall. Upstairs, are two bedrooms and the bathroom. The rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated in keeping with the age of the cottage; there's even a covered seating area outside, too. We had fantastic weekend here despite the inclement weather; there's plenty to do in the area - we did Go-Ape in Dalby forest. Helen, Emma, Ciara and Maria

Super friendly, cosy and clean stay!
Spotlessly clean, comfy beds, cosy living room, nice big, bright kitchen diner for eating together. Lovely touches throughout, the host really cared about our comfort and enjoyment even just for a 1 night stay (e.g., fresh milk for first cup of tea, toys and games for kids, cute little ladybirds hidden around the property for children to find- and even an ice cream prize for finding them all!!) The location was great for us- we were visiting Wolds Way Lavender and Nature Farm (10 mins drive), Scampston House and Gardens (10-15 mins drive) and Yorkshire's Food Capital, the lovely town of Malton (25 mins drive). There was a great park for children in walking distance of the cottage too. Off road parking for your car by the cottage was very handy. Very friendly and approachable host, Lou was lovely with my 6 year old and made us feel very welcome and looked after. She was just next door to tell us the wifi code, recommend the park etc. Would highly recommend a stay!
