About this property
Beautiful Barn, huge garden, perfect retreat close to Devon beaches & estuaries
You can’t beat the beautiful estuaries and beaches in the Devon South Hams. Paddle boarding, walking, in Dartmoor or simply taking in the views with a glass of wine at the pub🍷 All a hop, skip and a jump from the Mangold Wurzel Barn.
The Mangold Wurzel barn is a part of an old Victorian barn complex nestled in the rolling South Hams. It’s a beautiful conversion with thick walls, a cosy atmosphere and a huge garden to relax in after a day out. And it’s not far from great beaches such as Bigbury or Bantham. And only a short drive to the rolling hills of Dartmoor, or the lovely estuary town of Salcombe.
At the barn, all you will hear are the sound of the odd cow in the fields behind the property, and see a sky full of stars at night.
The barn itself has three bedrooms (a double, a twin and a family room with two twins and a double). There is a lovely vaulted ceilinged lounge with a log burner for cooler nights. A well supplied kitchen and dining room on the ground floor make for fun family gatherings after a day at the beach or walking the coast, estuaries and Dartmoor.
That’s of course if you don’t head to one of the many wonderful pubs in the area.
We have owned the barn for 10 years across our extended family and have had many wonderful escapes here. We hope you will enjoy also.
Any questions just drop us a message we’ll be happy to tell you more.
We are new to renting out the barn as our children are grown so we are not tied to the summer holidays anymore so decided to open it up for others to enjoy, but hence why it’s still early days in terms of feedback to review. We started with friends so have feedback we can share with you if you want us to send on.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Sarah and Helen
Review addendum:
You will see we have one bad review on VRBO last year which is very disappointing to us. VRBO looked into this claim and found it unwarranted yet we have been unable to remove the review. The barn is exactly as in the pictures and a great place to stay. We have 5stars on Airbnb if you want to check . This individual was on some kind of campaign to stop future custom because they wanted to cancel their booking at the last minute in peak holiday season and not pay. Please do get in touch and we will talk you through if you have any concerns.
