Fabulous

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, the people are wonderful. South Point Villa was and is the icing on the cake. We spent 8 wonderful days at South Point, the location and the staff are fantastic, as was the food the chefs prepared for us. They all made us all feel like Royalty. The only problem we all had, was having to leave. We as a group have stayed at many villas over the last 10/15 years all over the world and this would certainly rate if in the top three.

Perfect home base for the cricket test

A group of us travelled to Galle to watch the cricket (Australia lost by the way). We stayed at South Point Villa which catered to all our needs. The location was second to none and the accommodation was modern and very comfortable. One of the real highlights was the food - chef asked us what we wanted the day before and amazing meals followed - all the local delights. The staff also helped to arrange sightseeing and other tours. I couldn't fault anything and I intend to come back with my family in the future.

The perfect place to relax and be spoilt

South Point Villa was a magical place to stay. The location - right on the beach - was fabulous, the villa was extremely clean and comfortable and it and the grounds were all very well maintained. All the arrangements in advance were handled very efficiently by the owner, with quick response times to all questions. The staff were the icing on the cake and made the whole experience very special. Whilst most of them had limited English, the manager and (excellent) chef were always on hand to translate if necessary and they were all so helpful and caring. They made particular efforts to make sure my 50th birthday was very special. If you're looking for a luxurious place to be pampered and looked after, look no further. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this friends and family.

Relaxing family holiday

We stayed for 8 nights with our 3 children all aged under 5. South Point Abbey is a beautiful villa, with stunning views and attentive, yet un-intrusive staff. The villa was well appointed and comfortable for all of us, the garden was great for small children as was the pool, and beach access was easy. The staff were extremely helpful, considerate and were great at helping out with the children -nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the chef was very good at making sensible recommendations based on our needs. Suggested excursions were very appropriate and fun. The villa and scenery are beautiful, but the staff really make South Point Abbey, the soon understood our routines and requirements and met our needs before we realised we needed something. Our children loved the villa, its gardens and animals and the staff. We had a very relaxing and peaceful time there and would recommend to young families, couple, anyone wanting a relaxing time to enjoy each other's company

Stunning place for a completely relaxing holiday

What a wonderful holiday. The location was absolutely amazing - just a few steps from the front lawn onto a gorgeous beach where we hardly saw anyone else apart from a few fisherman for the whole 12 days we were there. The house was brilliantly designed and decorated in an extremely stylish way. A reef protected the beach which meant that the wonderfully warm sea was perfect for us and our 2 year old daughter to swim in. As was the swimming pool with its wonderful sea views. The photos on the website do not do justice to the beautiful setting. The service was brilliant - always there when you needed anything but not at all in the way when you didn't. They were brilliant with our daughter.We are widely travelled and have never experienced such fantastic hospitality. The food was stunning - the chef cooked separate meals for our toddler and then amazing meals for us once she had gone to bed. It was a real highlight of the holiday. They organised a few excellent trips for us - but the main point of the holiday for us was relaxation - we spent most of our time just enjoying the wonderful villa. We cannot wait to return to South Point

Absolutely the best place in Sri Lanka

We enjoyed our stay at South Point Villa so much that we actually tried to cancel our stay at the Fortress Hotel, which is the best hotel on the island, and very close by. Having staying at the Fortress Hotel for a few nights - which was also great- we came back to the villa on our last day in Sri Lanka and were treated like family on our return. The staff in the house are so nice and helpful, always looking for ways to please your stay. We cannot recommend the house enough for everybody, both families with children and older people. Trips were arranged from the house, worth to mention was the trip to the tea factory, where we tasted different teas and were able to buy the rare white tea. Also our trip to a national park on a safari to see elephants was very exciting, almost to exciting if you ask our 10 year old boy, the big elephants got very close to the vehicle. We hope to be back in Sri Lanka, and if we do, we will not think twice - we will come back to South Point Villa. Regards to everybody at the villa from the Moller family from Denmark

Return Visit

We have just had our second stay at South Point. This time we stayed in the Villa, which is the property which adjoins the Abbey. The villa is very upmarket, with wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms,but for us the most amazing thing is the verandah. It is here you can sit and watch the waves, eat breafast, read, sip on a cool drink watching the sunset, then dine on a delicious meal.The staff look after you in every way possible and even anticiapte your needs.During our stay in December the sea infront of the villa was calm and warm and perfect for snorkelling and swimming. We would thoroughly recommend this experience over a hotel. It iwould be an excellent property for a large family, as they could spread across the two properties .Thanks Sonali for sharing your lovely house!

Paradise

South Point villa is the most amazing, utterly blissful and absolutely gorgeous villa located in the South of Sri Lanka. The location is out of this world, where it seems like you have your own private beach. The staff are ever so nice, making one feel very much at home. And the Cheff is simply amazing, always wanting to feed us up with his tantalising dishes.My husband, two kids and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and so look forward to going back to South Point in the near future. I recommend South Point Villa to families and couples wanting to have a romantic holiday on their own. Absolute privacy is guaranteed.

A dream of a villa .................

Our stay at South Point Villa from the 16th-23rd December with some family members was excellent from the time we stepped into the villa till we left. Since we valued our privacy very much we were pleasantly surprised when we had the utmost privacy to enjoy our stay without the annoyance of being intruded upon by anyone. The location is marvellous. Sitting out in the evenings and watching the sun set is a sight to behold. The food prepared for us was simply delicious - hot off the stove. And the chilled local fresh fruit juices were just great that we kept asking for more. The service was truly courteous and the staff did not intrude on our privacy. For us who live in the Middle East this holdiay was real value for money. Strongly recommned South Point Villa to any holiday seeker. Insha Allah we will return. F. Malliki

I stayed at South Point Villa and at South Point Cottage for almost 3 months to complete and finalize publication of my book " PG WODEHOUSE - The unknown Years ". I enjoyed my stay in these two beautiful, serene and absolutely private villas. The staff were excellent, caring and kept the villas picture perfect through out our stay. I hope to return again soon. South Point Villa is a family owned private luxury villas, designed as boutique properties and given out on exclusive use basis for one group/family. As the owner, I want our guests to have a memorable and pleasant stay at our villas. I personally go to the properties at least twice a month to check the Maintenace. When the villas are booked, other than the staff No outsider will enter the property. Not even the owner. All emails are handled by me, before arrival a details email is sent to check what our guests requirements are, expectation and what meal they would like to have on arrival. We do our best to tailor the holiday from airport pick to drop. The dedicated team of Staff will provided a 24/7 service.

Why they chose this property

In 2004 Kathaluwa was a quite little fishing village with a stunning beach. Isolated and peaceful. Breathtaking sunsets. Snorkeling within the reef.

What makes this property unique

The Location is stunning as the villa is situated on a little headland and very close to breaking waves. The villas is built approximately 7 feet above the sea level. The sea is good for swimming and snorkeling. Most coastal areas the sea is rough and not suitable to swim. 2 to 15 minute drive is the busy tourist areas, surfing spots in Kabalana, Unawatuna, Galle Fort and Mirissa.
