Hello,

If you can clean at the end of the stay that would be perfect otherwise I'll have to charge you 25 pounds for the cleaning. (there is a vacuum cleaner in the room downstairs on the shelf next to the tv set and a broom in the cupboard next to the door. The cleaning stuff is under the sink in the kitchen. There is not much to do. I hope you'll have a nice stay .

Great location very close to harbour. Host could not have been more helpful along with the couple next door who manage the property. Great visit to St.Cyrus beach with the dog although quite a trek to get to the beach but worth it. Fish and chips from the Quayside restaurant in Gourdon recommended.
Well appointed, great location, clean, and comfortable. Property manager made us feel welcome and made sure we had all the information we needed for check in well in advance.

Thanks for a great stay, lovely wee town. Cottage has everything you need.
Exactly as described , the cottage is very cosy . The local residents are really friendly and the pub serves beautiful food. The little coffee shop is definitely a must serving home made food , especially the scones . Walking the dogs on the beach which is only a short drive is amazing .
From the first moment we were pleasantly surprised. The peace and quiet was a wonderful thing. The village and its harbour are a sight to be seen. Comfortable and cosy is best to describe this home.
Nice place 10 yards from the harbour bed was comfortable shower was ok with a bit of adjustment friendly village with good pub great walks and saw dolphins one morning during our stay, walked to Gourdon 2 miles had lunch at the pub there and had a trip to St Cyrus beautiful beach and wildlife area. Easy to visit Braemar and Balmoral just over an hour away. Great to just sit by the harbour relaxing.
Nice quaint cottage and in a good location.Perfect to explore the surrounding areas and lovely beaches.Handy for the only local pub which serves good food.Loved the Lobster shop for our fresh fish.Food store also close for any necessary food and drink.Nice cottage giving us every comfort we needed but poor WiFi.The only criticism I would give was that the garden could have been tidier.
Great little cottage with everything you could want & more. Perfect central location. Great village feel with lovely locals. Highly recommend the Anchor Hotel & McBay's lobster shop. A visit to Starfish studio is well worth it. We will definately be back! 😀
Pretty old cottage in the heart of a lovely fishing village. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed for a our stay. The garden was a real bonus. The village had a couple of small shops, pub/hotel /restaurant and a coffee shop. Beautiful coastal walks from the door. Located on a stunning coastline.

Cosy property, nice to come home to but within easy driving distance of cities, towns, villages and the coast. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and plenty of exploring around Johnshaven itself, where everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Alan, who lives next door and cares for the property, is very helpful, friendly and discreet. We liked the large Smart TV in the living room and another in the bedroom and the WiFi worked perfectly. Plenty of hot water on tap. All in all a very pleasant stay!
We frequent Johnshaven regularly and this is our first stay at this property. A beautiful cosy wee house by the seaside with everything you need for your stay and an enclosed garden safe for children and pets to roam around .
I put 4* for the cleanliness not because the property wasn't up to standard, it was , but the few pots and cooking utensils hadn't been cleaned properly, I assume by previous guests, and put back in the cupboard dirty. It's in the property description that guests should do certain basic household chores which is a great idea to keep the service/ cleaning fee down .
In summary, we highly recommend staying at this lovely house
Not overly impressed. Much room for improvement. Repairs needed, a good clean, more comfortable sofa etc. This is the first time EVER that i have not bothered to actually clean a property before i left. Will contact the owner direct witha few issues. However, Johnshaven is beautiful. The cottage is NOT for us!
JOHNSHAVEN Quaint Cottage In A Small Fishing Village
A lovely quaint terraced house . Kitchen is well equipped Slight sea views from upstairs bedroom windows. The main bedroom was very comfortable. Dog friendly,(however the garden is on other side of a narrow communal path, opposite front door ,although not an issue for us ). No driveway for car parking so we parked further along a narrow road, Main Street . Easy to book Good Communication with the owner . Excellent Wi-Fi . Loved strolling around the village and along the sea front roads and the old railway track to the community garden. Stoney beach, but lovely sandy beaches a short drive away and other places of interest a short drive away. If we were planning a short stay in Johnshaven again, we would consider booking this accommodation, depending on the cost / availability.
Stayed here with my husband and two teens for a 2 night stay.. House was small but cosy and we were glad the heating was on when we arrived as weather was awful!.
House is well equipped for a self-catering holiday; we did not cook much but there seemed to be plenty of utensils /pots and pans etc. Also very pleased to see more than 4 of each piece of cutlery /crockery (a pet-peeve is when places for four people only have 4 forks /plates etc -you need those extras!!!) Great location for beach walks /trips to Aberdeen /other towns. Easy to get to from A92.
I would say the house could do with a bit of a freshen up - it's nicely furnished etc but starting to look a bit 'rough around the edges'. That said I would return even as it is.
A lovely short break!
