The Neighborhood:
Milsom Street is known as Bath's premier shopping street and is home to a whole host of high-end stores, restaurants and cafes. Located just a short walk from most of Bath's main attractions, it doesn't get more central than Milsom Street.
The street was first built in 1762 and has always been seen as a fashionable place to be. In Georgian times it was the place to spend time socialising outside of London and has been mentioned several times in the works of Jane Austen.
Getting Around:
The apartment is super central so most attractions, shops and restaurants are just a short walk away! Due to the central location, the apartment doesn't come with parking.
Other Things to Note:
The apartment is at the top of the building so you must be able to climb stairs. Due to the age of the building there isn't a lift/elevator.
Please note there is scaffolding around the building which the apartment is in and works going on outside, you can see the scaffolding from the apartment windows.

We stayed for Jane Austen Festival. Really convenient to all activities. Great restaurants across the street or walking distance. Very easy walking from train. Felt very safe. Apartment was adorable. Very clean. Quiet. Have to walk up stairs so not appropriate for elderly/disability. 10/10 would stay again.

The apartment was great with everything we needed. However it was a bit of a challenge for my 80 year old mother to climb the stairs to the 4th floor. Although this is mentioned on the description it should be made clearer, as should the fact that the apartment is not easily accessible by car. I found out through my own research about the car park in Charlotte St, I was then sent lots of useful information about the car parks and park and ride (which stops right outside the apartments, which wasn’t mentioned) the day before coming to Bath, it would have been very helpful to have this information sent to me on booking rather than the day before travelling.

About the host
Hosted by Nook Stays
The family purchased the apartment in 2019 as they loved the character and history of the building and the central location. The building is a unique renovation of a Grade II listed building and is an impressive mix of classic Georgian architecture and contemporary living, sitting above the UK’s oldest department store, Jolly’s which has been on Milsom Street since 1831.
With so much history, plus having a whole host of great restaurants and shops on the doorstep, it’s not hard to see why the family love visiting their apartment so often. When they aren’t using it they welcome visitors to share in Bath’s delights. We hope that you will enjoy the apartment and Bath!
