Lake Garda Piazza Apartment - St Loe

St Loe is a luxury, two bedroomed apartment, set right on the picturesque western shore of Lake Garda , within the small village of Gargnano, in “Parco Alto Garda Bresciano”, Northern Italy. Although a part of the ancient , stone village of Gagnano the interior of the apartment has been renovated by an architect to a crisp, clean modern design with very high quality fittings and furniture. It is available for weekly rentals in high seasons and by negotiation for the rest of the year. The apartment is located right on the main piazza and port of the village and thus its living space has completely uninterrupted views over the little boats in the port and out over the lake to the mountains on the far shore. The apartment is at 2nd floor level, an ideal distance to overlook the vibrant village and port life from the main living space or to sit back and enjoy the breathtakingly tranquil views of the lake and mountains beyond. The bedrooms are at the back of the apartment, tucked into the village built fabric and are quiet and peaceful.

The apartment is very well equipped and includes a washing machine. The beautifully designed family bathroom, has a roomy, stone floored, frameless glass shower as well as a cast iron bath. Phillippe Starck and Doornbracht taps and sanitaryware.

Traditional Italian Village
The apartment is part of the ancient Italian village network of stone terraced buildings that form a cobweb of beautiful cobbled, narrow streets, allowing you to uncover its hidden restaurants and treasures as you explore. Unusually, due to the mountainous geography of the area and the layout of these traditional narrow streets, this small town does not have any scope for new developments, which has allowed it to maintain its charm and gives a sense of stepping back in time.

You can easily enjoy your stay at the apartment without having a car, and using taxis, buses, ferries or trains for adventures further afield.

The Apartment
The apartment sleeps up to 4 people comfortably, perfect for couples and small families. It has been renovated to a very high specification, with one double room and one twin room, and is a perfect location for all the surrounding activities, scenery and restaurants. The spectacular “Centomiglia” a hundred-miles-regatta of sailing boats racing around the lake and a 'preparation' race for the Volvo Race is attracting a big audience every year and starts every September in “Boglico”. The British writer David H. Lawrence has been one of the famous visitors of this region, in good company with Hemmingway, writing 'twilight in Italy' while resident in Gargnano . The landscape and walks he describes are still evident and can be followed still today.
Small swimming beaches, watersports, mountain biking and hiking are available from the doorstep, with golf and horse riding nearby. Abundance of Italian village shops, delicatessens, bakery, cafes, wine shops and, of course, restaurants.
