Neighborhood

King's Cross, is home to all manner of cultural institutions, including The British Library, King's Place, The Wellcome Collection, The Foundling Museum, London Canal Museum, Gagosian Art Gallery, the offices of The Guardian and The Observer newspapers, and The Place, London's specialist venue for contemporary dance. The seemingly out-of-place Camley Street Natural Park is a two-acre wildlife reserve a stone's throw from the area's redevelopment on the banks of the Regent's Canal, while the Greek-style St Pancras Parish Church is London's most expensive church after St Paul's Cathedral. King's Cross is dominated by the imposing (and newly restored) Grade I listed St Pancras railway station, arguably one of the finest stations in the world and now, with the Eurostar service, a gateway to Europe. The famous Platform Nine and Three-Quarters from the Harry Potter films is located in the main train terminal, providing quick access to Hogwarts (provided you can walk through the brick wall).

Transit

Travel knows no bounds from these centres of transportation, especially if you remember to pack your passport. St Pancras has bagged the title of 'International' as the home of Eurostar's start point - pack an overnight bag and head to Paris, Brussels and beyond. Domestic routes include Derby, Brighton and Bedford, with train operators Southeastern, East Midland Trains and Thameslink all operating from the station. St Pancras also has more underground connections than any other London station - buoyed by its link to King's Cross Tube station.

King's Cross is the gateway to Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland, with operators including Virgin Trains, First Hull Trains and Grand Central. North London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire are served by Great Northern, and there's a Tube station too.

Euston is the southern terminus for the West Coast Mainline, giving access to the West Midlands, the North West, North Wales and Scotland, with popular destinations including Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. London Midland also has its terminus at Euston, with trains to Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire. Euston's Tube station is on the Victoria and Northern line, as well as offering the London Overground service (Watford DC line).

Notes

The pub is open till 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The noise level for the property is high.

Meets Basic Needs
This stay is “good” if you don’t have extraordinary expectations. 1) Property Description: 85% accurate. The pictures don’t provide the right view of the apartment. There is no “living room” there is a bedroom and it happens to have an old sofa chair. The bathroom is fine, and clean. 2) Noise Level: The property is above a pub, however, the room is above a karaoke bar and you will hear EVERYTHING. Most nights it closes around 11 (really midnight) and the noise level is high. On Fri and Sat it says it closes at 1 but we had people singing and loud music upwards of 2:15-2:30 AM. 3) Ventilation - there is no AC. On a cool day, you have a cheap fan to help you out but God help you if you go and it is above 90. It is insufferable. They do have heating for the winter. 4) Accessibility - this is not an accessible place. You walk through 3 sets of narrow stairs to get to the apartment and hard for anyone with special needs like wheelchairs. 5) Cleanliness - the apartment is clean and no complaints here! There is an opportunity to touch up the overall place with some cheap ikea furniture at the least and update things like the bedroom door which does not close. 6) Safety - I felt very safe here but was with my husband. Overall, the area is safe. The only discomfort is having to walk through the pub crowds to get to the apt. 7) Location - 10/10. Close to amazing restaurants and a 10 min walk from Kings Cross and St. Pancras station. This was the best part!
