A traditional stone-built cottage adjoining the croft-house with stunning sea views of Culkein Bay and Handa Island. Situated on a working croft, it is just a stone’s throw away from Culkein beach.

Open plan living space with full self-catering facilities, kitchen, bathroom with shower, electric heating and a wood burning stove. Suitable for couples or solo travellers, it has a double bed mezzanine sleeping arrangement which is accessible by a ladder (there is also a pull-out sofa bed in the open plan area if required).

"living on the edge"

Caroline and David are fantastic hosts. I can recommend a stay 100% and would choose this apartment again at any time. The furnishings are top quality. The apartment is furnished with love for detail and even though the space is small, everything and more is available.

Sehr sauber, tolle Vermieter, irre Umgebung.

Das Häuschen ist zwar sehr klein, aber wahnsinnig liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es fehlt an nichts. Einziger kleiner Nachteil ist, dass kein Kleiderschrank vorhanden ist. Nur wenige Regalfächer zur Ablage von Kleidung. Wir waren eine Woche da und trotzdem standen unsere Taschen mitten im Raum. Für 14 Tage hätte der Platz gar nicht gereicht. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich nett, wir haben uns lange mit ihnen unterhalten. Das Häuschen ist direkt gegenüber vom Strand. Vom Bett aus kann man den Strand und auch den Himmel sehen.Einfach irre. War eine tolle Erfahrung immer wieder gerne!

Eintauchen in die nordwestlichen Highlands - im perfekten Cottage mit warmherzigen Gastgebern

Entschleunigung und Natur pur - und die Erkenntnis Schottland ist überall wunderschön - man muss nicht alle Sehenswürdigkeiten abhetzen, um Schottland zu erleben. David und Caroline haben uns sehr warmherzig begrüßt. Während des Aufenthaltes haben wir sehr wertvolle Ausflugstipps erhalten und freundliche Gespräche geführt. Das Wohl der Gäste liegt beiden am Herzen, dabei sind sie überhaupt nicht aufdringlich. Vielen Dank noch einmal für alles! Das Cottage selbst ist sehr sauber, sehr geschmackvoll und dabei äußerst praktisch eingerichtet: der Raum wird optimal genutzt. Es ist alles sehr gepflegt und neuwertig. Wir haben hier eine sehr gemütliche und heimelige Zeit verbracht. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts. Culkein erreicht man über einige kurvige Meilen Singletrack-Roads, incl. "Schaf- und Kuhverkehr". Das Cottage liegt unmittelbar an einer wunderschönen Bucht und man könnte auch einfach nur stundenlang schauen und genießen. Die herrliche Luft und Ruhe gibt es gratis dazu. Direkt vom Cottage aus, kann man schon einen wunderschönen Spaziergang zum Old Man of Stoer starten. Im Dorf Culkein selbst gibt es die Jammery (Kuchen, Marmelade, Chutney und freitags Pizza - alles sehr lecker!) Der nächste Supermarkt, Tankstelle, Cafes, Restaurants etc. findet sich in Lochinver. (10 Meilen) Tipp: Lebensmittel gleich mitbringen und mit Automatik-Auto anreisen extra Tipp: Besuch Secret Tea Garden Drumbeg, Beach Clachtoll (mit Flossie`s), Clashnessi
