Was a really lovely time away
Was a really lovely time away. Only had one problem with the lock on one of the bathroom door was hanging off. Sent a message and replayed really quickly. Did feel like it was a bit run down with a cracked window and stains on most of the walls and the rugs. Felt like it needed a little tlc Also was really dusty on all the window ledges. The location was really lovely with some really nice walks and the hot tube was the best we have ever used.

We had a wonderful stay at the chapel.
It was really warm and comfortable and felt really cozy, but with plenty of spaces for everyone to enjoy their own thing. We loved the hot tub and the games room, and we did some great walks straight from the village. The pub was very friendly, and the food looked good, and the cafe next door served great food during the day. We would heartily recommend it,and look forward to visiting again in the future.
Lovely property in a small village with picturesque views of the Welsh mountains. Lovely little cafe and pub on the same street and other amenities around a 15-20 drive.

Great stay
Came as a group of 10 for a family anniversary, the house is beautiful and is definitely big enough for a large group. We made us of the games room and board games found within cupboards and had plenty of space to spread apart if needed.
Close by to a local town and we accessed the majority of the north/ north west coast!
Note you don’t get any kindle or wood and will need to take your own!
Maintenance required in general on a lot of the house,
Darts needed, new pool cue tips, score cards on fuse table loose.
Not enough large towels for adults on booking (we brought own anyway).
Some of furniture it’s broken and the double bedroom downstairs isn’t in quality of what you would expect for a holiday hire (slats fall into bed) bed frame is cracked, holes over walls.

Wonderful
We had a lovey trip here! Great value for money, in a beautiful location. The property exceeded our expectations it’s a beautiful building, and had great facilities and extras- the pool table, hot tub, darts, board games, washer-dryer, freezer… it had everything to make our visit fun and easy. The local pub and cafe were great and staff very friendly and helpful. And there’s lots of great walks starting right from the doorstep. It’s a perfect base for exploring, or to just stay in and relax.
We can’t wait to return!
There was no hand soap. This wasn’t a big issue, and maybe it states somewhere to provide your own and I missed it! But we all made the assumption hand soap would be provided

The chapel was a great place for a family celebration
The chapel was a great place for a family celebration. Games room and hot tub were excellent ways to spend time, there were beautiful surroundings and lots of walks from the door. A nice pub for a beer in the village although as it had 1 food hygiene rating didn’t risk eating there! Not much else in walking distance but we had no plans to eat out so was no concern to us. Great location to get to other tourist spots in the area. Would recommend!

Hi Robert, thankyou so much for your wonderful review! I am so pleased to hear that the chapel was a great place for your family celebration! And I am delighted to hear that you were able to make good use of the hot tub and games room!
The chapel was ideal for us for a family getaway weekend. Kids really enjoyed the bunk beds and the playroom whilst the adults had company clean rooms. Many thanks!
This is a unique property in a unique location. It more than satisfied our needs for a small family reunion along with exploring a beautiful region of Wales. I think the marketing is a bit misleading as far as being luxurious. The finishing and comfort were more in line with rustic than luxury.

Family stay at the The Old Wensleyan Chapel
Lovely original building features. Ideal for families. Rooms and beds comfortable. Great games room and downstairs double bunk room plus downstairs bathroom and another double room. Large lounge and kitchen area and nice big table to accommodate all the family. Hot tub a nice addition and 2 seating areas.
TV no terrestrial. Could do with a pair of scissors in kitchen and maybe a pair of kitchen scales.

Fabulous house!
Booking through Finest Retreats was great from start to finish with any questions answered within 24 hours and very helpful. The chapel has been converted brilliantly with amazing taste and so beautiful - didn’t want to leave! Location is good with great walks and shops within a 10/15 minute drive - although I believe there are good walks straight from the house. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to meet up with family/friends any time of the year. Games room & hot tub a lovely bonus Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This was the perfect getaway for me and my friends!
One of my favourite places is Talylyn lake and being only 20 mins from there was exactly what I wanted! I would definitely recommend if you stay here. The games room was the perfect way to keep us entertained and we loved having the hot tub even with it being the colder months! Only small things: WiFi did struggle when all 9 were connected so it’s definitely a more tech free holiday (but this was absolutely fine for us) make sure to do food shop otw down if you’re planning to eat in the place as only really co-ops local which aren’t the cheapest, but they work for just the essential bits and definitely keep the heating on at all times!! But the heating does work well considering the building! Overall we had an amazing few days and are considering coming back in the summer months to see how lovely it would be in the warmth, but even in peak winter, we had the best time, thank you so much to retreat stays!!

Overall a great stay, which was to celebrate my Dads 80th Birthday. There were a few minor issues..
Location superb, on a quiet road in a beautiful Welsh village, with hills all around you & a good local pub, just a couple of minutes away. Beautiful building, impressively converted & the games room was a real hit with our 4 boys, as was the living area with the adults!
The kitchen was on the small side, considering the size & type of the property & potential number of guests (max 12). A dishwasher would be a good addition, as well as some more kitchen utensils. A shelfunit in the shared bathroom would be good, to put washbags etc on, as well as an armchair in each of the double bedrooms, as there is limited hanging space...

Great place for a group
It was a big beautiful building for a large group to enjoy together and also get space separately. We enjoyed the games room and the living area was relaxing with the log burner. The beds were very comfy and rooms made up lovely. Heated bathroom floors was a luxury. Having cot/highchair available was great. The hot tub was fantastic and brill being ready to use. The area was lovely for a walk. The local red lion pub was cosy and they were very accommodating great recommendation! We really enjoyed the stay and it exceeded expectations!
The bedroom/bathroom doors need a bit of wd40 there was lots of squeaking! The games room sounds amplifies up to the bedrooms which was a bit stressy with sleeping babies but not sure what can be done about that!
This is a unique property which has been well renovated. The layout with most of the accommodation and living space upstairs allowed us to have a separate space for our family one of which has an infant to have separate space downstairs next to the games room.
The property need a few maintenance issues dealing with including one of the beds needing a repair and the sofa bed upholstery needing renewal to make it more comfortable to sit on. A lick of paint would freshen up the property.
It does need a dishwasher installing for a property with so many bedrooms and some way to recycle bottles/ plastics etc.
Overall l a great stay with family in a large property in a beautiful area

Great Place
The property is a great space for groups, lots of room to hang out, comfy beds, great with the hot tub and beautiful location.
We were a group of 6 celebrating a 50th birthday. We found the space in the property excellent for chilling of an evening and the games room is a fab edition.
Great to hang out in the hot tub and the beds are all really comfortable.
The under floor heating in the bathrooms is lovely and the showers are amazing.
A dishwasher would be nice especially when the house can accommodate 12. Kitchen could do with a few more utensils such as good pans, cooking utensils and serving dishes. The fuss ball table was broken when we arrived as a couple of nuts had fallen off so was unusable.
More information regarding the local area would be nice such as places to visit, explore, eat and activities.
The house is clean but the high ceilings and exposed stone work have a few dust motes which need sorting out.

Weekend break with friends
The Chapel is in a lovely location with amazing views. There is plenty of space and the children loved having their own space in the games room. The little cafe next door is wonderful and the staff extremely friendly.
The cleanliness did put a dampener on our first night in the cottage but on the whole we had a lovely weekend with friends, the hot tub was lovely (no extra towels provided for the hot tub so bring your own)
The cleaning of the property was almost non existent. We arrived to a filthy kitchen, dirty towels, dirty beds with cobwebs and a good layer of dust on, cereal in beds, broken doors, broken games in the games room. No basics had been left so there was no toilet paper on arrival, bin bags etc. We reported it straight away & finest retreats tried to get the team back to sort but we ended up cleaning what we could ourselves to be able to sleep in the beds that night. Cleaners were supposed to then come on the Saturday and didn't turn up. We again reported it on the Sunday (due to leave on the monday) and the cleaners finally came on the Sunday but only cleaned the basic of what we had reported. At one point during our stay we had to move the settee to retrieve a toy that had rolled underneath and the dust was at least 2 inches thick. The settee is raised off the floor and on a wooden floor so very easy to move and to sweep a brush or mop under, it seems the cleaner just doesn't bother.
The finest retreats team did try their hardest to get it rectified for us
