Spacious property in a stunning location! the cottage has a cosy lounge with woodburner and large sunroom looking out over bay. 2 double beds (1 with en suite) and 1 single, lounge with smart TV, WiFi and wood burner, fully equipped kitchen, 2nd shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC, large conservatory with amazing views out over Morecambe Bay, lobby with wash machine, night storage heaters and convector heaters. Fabulous at all times of the year!

It would be hard to find a more tranquil, beautiful location. The accommodation is all on one level tho there are 4 steps (with handrail) down from the parking area.
Region:
The property is secluded but only a 5 min walk from the village of Baycliff which has 2 pubs serving food.; 2 miles from the Manjushri Buddhist Centre and 4 miles from the lively market town of Ulverston with its many festivals - including Lantern, Flag, Music and Dickensian - and excellent shops - independent ones plus the wonderful Booth's supermarket, M&S Food outlet and large Aldi. There is the fascinating Laurel & Hardy museum, a twice weekly street market, Christmas Market alongside the Dickensian festival and a whole programme of festivals throughout the year, including several music festivals, walking and cycling festivals, print makers festival. Ulverston Leisure Centre is on the road from the cottage.
The famous Roy's Ices can be found on the road into Ulverston - try flavours you've never heard of before! You can also walk here (about 30mins) along the beach from the cottage.
Nearby Barrow in Furness has much of interest including the Dock Museum for a rainy day! Furness Abbey is a stunning example of a Cistercian Abbey - and the cafe is great!
Take a ferry over to Piel Island and explore the wonderful (free) National Trust Castle before refreshing yourselves at the pub on the island.
Other nearby attractions include the South Lakes Wildlife Park and Brockholes Outdoor Adventure Park.
There are plenty of great walks and bike rides from the property itself (including Birkrigg Common with its stone circle.)
And all this before you even begin to venture into the Lake District proper!
Loved by bird watchers, dog owners, walkers, families and those seeking peace and quiet.
All fuel, electric, bed linen and towels provided. extensive patio paved areas with garden furniture provided, enclosed grounds. Travel cot, high chair available. Well behaved dogs welcomed. Plenty of private, off road space for parking. NB: the property is reached down 4 steps down from the parking area - there is a handrail but the cottage itself is all on one level.
Favourable rates available - please enquire and discounted rates for whole weeks.
Many of our guests are returnees, several come every year - this also explains why we have less reviews than we'd like as reviews are only permitted for bookings through HomeAway.
Bring your wellies if you want to walk out across the sands and don’t want to get wet feet!

About the host
Hosted by Rose

My husband grew up in nearby Barrow and, as a family we have explored the area with our children for many years. Keen to continue this even when his parents were no longer around, we fell in love with this cottage which we think is in an idyllic location. Although we live more than 200 miles away, we visit whenever we can - our dogs are in their element at the cottage and run for miles across the sands. Our children as adults visit with their friends - taking the opportunity to go for long walks, bike rides, paddling their kayaks and flying kites.
Why they chose this property
We had no intention of purchasing a property but it was one of those moments where we both fell instantly in love with the cottage and location and knew we must have it. We've had no regrets and, besides letting it out, ourselves, family and friends have had many magical holidays at the cottage.
The cottage is cosy and quirky and equipped with everything you may need - hopefully! Dogs are safe in the grounds of the property but so near the beach for long walks. You can relax in the privacy of the gardens on sun loungers or choose to sit on the raised decking so you have a stunning view out over the bay.

What makes this property unique
Location, location! stunning views from the conservatory and gardens over Morecambe Bay with the hills of the Lake District in the distance. The seclusion and tranquillity of the cottage - no near neighbours. Pubs (and food) 5 mins walk away, one dog friendly. Vast sands to walk out on (ideal for dogs). Amazing bird life in Morecambe Bay can be viewed from the property. Ideal base for exploring Southern and Western Lake District or just going for walks and bike rides from the property.
