Spinney Retreat is perfect for a couple or two friends looking for a peaceful and quiet break away. Based in the village of East Wellow, it is perfect for walking enthusiasts and the nature lovers as the surrounding woodlands are a great spot for wildlife – look out for herons, kingfishers, foxes, badgers and deer. The village itself has a range of local shops, pubs and a full-service petrol station just on the edge of the beautiful New Forest National Park and a short drive to sandy Bournemouth beach. Situated at the end of the owner’s land - with its own track to access the property.
Spinney Retreat has a wonderful wooden veranda, large comfy seating and dining area with a TV and gas fire, perfect for a cosy evening in. The kitchen is fully kitted with an oven, hob, fridge, freezer and microwave, making cooking a meal very easy. Suitable for two people, there is a bedroom with a double bed and a further small room with two single beds (for flexible sleeping arrangements). There is an outside area for storing your bikes and wet gear and an outside tap to wash off your bikes.
This area is great for walking and for dogs in the New Forest as they are allowed to be off lead. There are also many off road cycling tracks in the New Forest. The area is steeped in history, with Florence Nightingale’s tomb in the local churchyard, the Rufus Stone nearby, and Magna Carta in Salisbury Cathedral. Gardens at Exbury, Harold Hillier Gardens and Mottisfont are world-famous and definitely worth a trip. There are several good golf courses, and the area is renowned for its fishing. The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu is another fantastic day as well as the National Trust properties, Mottisfont, Hinton Ampner, The Vyne, and more.
Winchester just a short 25-minute drive away hosts an enchanting selection of majestic sites, traditional ale houses and highly acclaimed restaurants waiting to be explored. The charming high street offers quaint alleyways and cosy squares draped with independent gift shops and high street stores, and home to a thriving food scene, with many recognisable named restaurants.
