Not what we expected
As soon as we arrived we began to make plans for alternative accommodation.
Afla (the host) is a very kind and warm person who did her best to make us feel welcome, however, the place was not as we had expected.
We didnt expect 5 start accomodation, however, we didn't expect a block of flats either, as that wasn't mentioned in the ad.
The flats and the apartment were unclean and smelled unpleasant. The host seemingly didn't sweep/vacuum the apartment.
The bathroom had what seemed to be mould along the bath.
The kitchen was unclean and untidy.
The toilet was not in a good state.
We understand that the host may be in need of income, hence her opening up her doors for guests to share her home with her and her son, however, my opinion is that the home is not fit for guests as is, with the biggest recommendation being that the host apply more effort in cleanliness and tidyness with regards to the apartment as a whole.
I would have assumed Vrbo vets the properties to some degree and as such am quite disappointed with Vrbo as a platform - I'm not sure how you recover from this first impression.
We felt mislead by the advert and would appreciate a refund, minus the admin fees as we left within an hour of arriving.
