This rustic pet friendly, air-conditioned 2-Bedroom country apartment is located on the Route 97 Scenic Byway. It overlooks the Scenic Byway and is only 1 1/2 blocks to the Delaware river access for swimming and boating. This stretch of the Scenic Byway is very flat so it is easy for biking and walking along the Delaware River. Barryville is a beautiful quaint town, with hiking trails, nearby lakes, bird watching locations and Nature at its best. This location is across the street from the popular River Market as well as next door to the Dos Gringos Mexican Restaurant and bar and close to the Stickett Inn Provisions Store and the Barryville Emporium Antique Store and Earthangel Antiques.
A farmer's market across the street from the apt. takes place on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm May through October.
We are also able to get you a 35% discount on rafting and kayaking on the Delaware River through Cedar Rapids Restaurant and Boating. Other activities close by include paintball and zip lining as well as a new micro-brewery down the road and the 2 River Junction Restaurant with floor to ceiling glass overlooking both the Lackawaxan and Delaware Rivers. The apt. is also just a 15-minute drive from the world-famous Kadampa Meditation Center where you can enjoy hiking on the 82 acre grounds as well as delicious home cooked vegetarian meals in their dining room for only $5 per person (when available). The apt. is also driving distance (approx. 20 minutes) to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and Museum which hosts concerts throughout the season. Bethel is the original site of the famous Woodstock Music Festival of the 60s.
Twenty-five minutes away is the town of Milford, PA which has many art galleries, restaurants, stores and interesting sites. Fifteen minutes North past the Tusten Trail Hike at 10 Mile River takes you to the quaint town of Narrowsburg, NY, which also offers some small boutique stores and restaurants. A little further up you come across Honesdale, PA which is home to the largest Salvation Army Store in the Northeast with amazing deals on used clothing and other items.
Just down the road from Bethel is the Monticello Raceway and Casino. The harness racing is on during the week, and the casino is open 7 days a week. There is entertainment in the lounge on Friday and Saturday nights, along with dining.
